When Lu Zhixia came outside, she saw the two little ones standing obediently beside Lu Yan, each holding a bowl and eating. They looked so cute and adorable.
As they grew older, they became increasingly able to tell them apart.
They are not the kind of twins who look very alike.
When the two little ones saw their mother come out, they couldn't hold back their tears and started to cry.
Lu Yan, displaying her elder sisterly authority, shouted, "Stop crying! If you cry again, I'll spank you!"
Upon hearing this, they immediately shut their mouths and continued scooping rice with their spoons, forgetting what they had just been doing.
The adults watched with smiles but said nothing. Sure enough, children need to be raised to be managed; they were too indulgent and couldn't be coaxed at all.
After enduring a night, they stopped asking for milk during the day, as if they had forgotten about it.
Grandpa's medicine was very effective; Lu Zhixia felt the tightness in her chest subside.
She felt much easier in her life now that she didn't have to breastfeed them.
With Gu Lingxiao at the factory, she only needed to stay in the shop, thus earning money from both ends and accumulating considerable wealth.
We bought another house nearby, so the whole family can live there. As for the house we bought before, we didn't sell it.
Lu Zhixia knew that houses would be valuable in the future, so she would buy as many as possible as long as the price was right. This was a way to accumulate wealth, which was better than putting the money in the bank to earn interest.
Time flies, and it's time for the child to start kindergarten.
Lu Yan entered junior high school that year, and when she thought about the school's rule that she had to cut her hair before she could attend school, she burst into tears.
Lu Zhixia came in to deliver milk and saw this scene, which broke her heart.
"Yan Yan!"
"Mom, why does the school require girls to cut their hair?" Lu Yan said indignantly. "I've been growing this hair for so long."
Lu Zhixia put the cup on the table. "You don't look bad with short hair. Just think of it as lightening your burden. Otherwise, you'll have to comb your hair every morning."
Lu Yan said, "I think this is prejudice against girls. Why should we cut our hair? Are we afraid that boys will see it?"
Lu Zhixia sat down next to the child. "The school has its own rules. You can grow your hair when you go to high school."
Lu Yan looked at her hair and still felt wronged. She had finally grown it so long, and now it was all gone.
Lu Zhixia was also quite annoyed by the school's regulations. She had asked a few parents privately, and none of them objected, so this matter was a bit difficult to handle.
Gu Lingxiao came in from outside and saw his daughter crying. He immediately asked,
"What happened?"
Lu Zhixia thought it was her mother-in-law coming into the house, but it turned out to be Gu Lingxiao returning from his business trip.
"The school wants Yan Yan to cut her hair, and she's sad."
"Why are they cutting their hair?" Gu Lingxiao said. "They're not going to join the army."
Lu Zhixia said, "I reckon they're probably worried about the kids getting into early relationships."
Gu Lingxiao: "Just because I cut my hair doesn't mean I can't have a relationship? That's disregard for women! I'm going to see the boss tomorrow."
Lu Yan looked at her father expectantly, "Can I really not cut my hair?"
Gu Lingxiao: "I'll go talk to them!"
Lu Yan looked at her father with admiration, "Then you must negotiate a deal, otherwise I don't want to go to school anymore."
Gu Lingxiao said, "Alright, alright, stop crying. Go wash your face, dinner will be ready soon."
Lu Yan felt better, so she went out to wash her face. In her opinion, there was nothing that couldn't be done with her father around.
Gu Lingxiao is not her biological father, but in her heart he is her father.
Lu Zhixia closed the door and said to Gu Lingxiao, "Why did you agree so easily? If it doesn't work out, she will be very sad."
Gu Lingxiao: "Fine, I have my reasons. Besides, why should girls have to cut their hair? Who made that rule? Which law says so?"
Lu Zhixia couldn't help but complain, "Indeed, when I was in school, I could keep my hair. Why do I have to cut it now, and cut it very short, like a tomboy?"
Gu Lingxiao: "I'll handle this tomorrow and see what the regulations are."
Lu Zhixia: "By the way, how did your business trip go? Is it suitable for other places to build factories?"
Gu Lingxiao said, "I think the location is good. Most importantly, the government provides policies, which can save a lot of money. In addition, it can solve the local employment problem. It should be able to support the area for three to five years without any problem."
Lu Zhixia: "Then you won't be able to come back for a long time?"
Gu Lingxiao: "It's not that bad. It's just that I have to go back and forth several times a month to ask questions. First, I need to get the construction team to finish building the house, and then I have to follow up on the rest step by step."
Lu Zhixia wrapped her arms around his waist, "You're working too hard like this."
Gu Lingxiao: "It's nothing, we won't need to bother with this once the factory is built."
Lu Zhixia sometimes feels that she loves making money too much. In fact, she now has a factory and two shops. If she manages them well, she won't have to worry about the future.
But she always thought about earning more money as a precaution.
"I don't want you to work so hard. Two factories are enough."
"It's good to be a little busy with work; things will be fine once this period is over."
Lu Zhixia looked up and said, "Next time I go on a business trip, I'll go with you to visit."
Gu Lingxiao casually pinched her cheek. "Sure! It's been a long time since I've taken you out. Let's go for a walk."
Lu Zhixia said, "Then let's bring the child along!"
Gu Lingxiao said, "The two older children are focused on their junior high school studies, so we'll take the two younger ones with us."
Lu Zhixia: "I'll listen to you!"
They only let go of the door when they heard the knock.
Cai Wei came in from outside and said, "Dinner's ready!"
Lu Zhixia quickly put on her shoes and went out to set the bowls and chopsticks on the table.
