Chapter 42 was a huge hit!

"How's it going? Sales have been good these past two days?" Lu Zhixia asked softly.

Xiao Wang nodded, "Thanks to your advice, sales have been pretty good these past few days, and my income has doubled!"

Lu Zhixia felt that Xiao Wang had the potential to do business; he was the kind of person who grasped things quickly. She noticed that the other two men's eyes were fixed on the school gate.

You know them all?

"It's about getting acquainted with them. They're a little unhappy because with you here, there's another ice cream vendor."

"I'm not here to sell ice cream, I'm here to sell steamed buns."

"What kind of steamed buns?"

"Here, have one to try." Lu Zhixia opened the box, and a waft of hot air rushed out.

Xiao Wang was astonished to see that the box indeed contained steamed buns.

"Are all of these minced meat?"

"It must be pure minced meat, and it must be wild boar meat."

Lu Zhixia put a plastic bag over her hand, then took a steamed bun from it and handed it to him. She noticed that the two people saw the steamed bun in the box.

His relieved expression was so funny that she almost laughed.

"Try it! It's on me."

"Sis, since you made these buns, I won't be polite." Xiao Wang reached out and took the bag, then took a small bite, and the bun immediately started to ooze oil.

He quickly slurped up two mouthfuls of the fresh and delicious flavor, which was simply better than being in heaven.

The two men standing in front of him were incredibly tempted; those were pure meat buns. One of them licked his lips.

Xiao Wang ate one steamed bun but still wanted more. Feeling embarrassed to ask for a second one, he asked Lu Zhixia.

How much do you plan to sell these steamed buns for?

Lu Zhixia said, "Without ration coupons, a bun costs one mao (0.1 yuan). With ration coupons, it costs eight fen (0.08 yuan) each, plus half a liang (0.25 taels) of ration coupons."

Xiao Wang did the math in his head: he could only earn one cent by selling three popsicles, which meant he could still afford the steamed bun.

So he took out some money from his pocket and said, "Give me two more steamed buns. I didn't bring any food coupons, so I'll give you the money."

Lu Zhixia then put two more steamed buns in a plastic bag for him and took the two cents from him.

Unexpectedly, the first order of steamed buns was sold to Xiao Wang, who saw two men standing in the distance each taking things out of their pockets.

Judging from their posture, they must have wanted to buy steamed buns too, and sure enough, they walked over the next second.

"Hey girl, give me two steamed buns!"

"I'll just have one to try."

The two handed over the money at the same time. Lu Zhixia took the money and then gave them steamed buns as they requested.

Master Guo took a bite of the steamed bun and squinted his eyes in satisfaction.

"Delicious, so delicious! I could smell the meat just now, and I couldn't resist."

Master Li looked at the steamed buns, reluctant to eat them. He opened his mouth and slowly put them in his mouth, the soup entering his mouth the instant he did so.

I thought to myself, "This money was definitely worth it; these steamed buns are really delicious."

The school bell rang, and Teacher Tao came over, took out her keys, and opened the gate.

She quickly heard the sound of students running out behind her, and she decisively stepped aside.

Seeing three more ice cream vendors at the entrance, he turned his head and saw the woman; a picture flashed in his mind.

This is the woman who treated them to ice cream last time; now she's even selling ice cream at the school.

Why is there no one selling food when I rub my stomach?

Sudden.

Seeing the steamed buns in their hands, and smelling the meat, it meant they were eating meat-filled steamed buns.

So he hurriedly went out and came to their side.

Some children started taking out their money to buy ice cream and surrounded them.

Lu Zhixia quickly took out the steamed buns.

"Large meat buns with pure meat filling, one cent each for those without ration coupons. Eight cents plus half a tael of ration coupons for those with ration coupons!"

He shouted several times, and the children who were buying ice cream couldn't help but look over curiously.

They were able to buy ice cream because they had money in their pockets. The woman's bun was quite large and looked very white.

Teacher Tao then realized that the box in front of the woman contained steamed buns, so he quickly took out his wallet from his pocket and took out money and food coupons.

Most junior high school students carry money in their pockets and don't have food coupons. Lu Zhixia started packing buns and collecting money like a machine, and in the blink of an eye, she sold more than 20 buns.

Some children stood right at the door and started eating. They thought it was delicious, regretted not buying more, and ran back to queue up again.

"Everyone line up, there's enough for everyone!" Lu Zhixia said, trying to maintain order.

At first, Teacher Tao wanted to let the students have their turn, but seeing them take turns, she eventually squeezed in and joined the queue.

Because there were fewer people buying steamed buns and ice cream, the streets were less crowded than usual.

However, they could understand; they loved eating such delicious steamed buns too.

Finally, it was Teacher Tao's turn to hand over the forty-eight cents and grain coupons.

"Give me six! I have food stamps!"

Lu Zhixia recognized him at a glance; this was the teacher who led the group that day.

His eyes lit up and an idea immediately came to him. He spotted a broken bun in the corner and stuffed it inside.

"This one is broken, so I'll give it to you and I'll install six more good ones for you."

Teacher Tao immediately understood, "Thank you in advance!"

Lu Zhixia tied the bag and handed it over, then went to greet the next student.

Teacher Tao carried the bag back to her office. Her family was well-off; everyone in the family worked as laborers. So even though her salary as a teacher was low, she never hesitated to spend money.

I saw several teachers eating their packed lunches; some had stir-fried shredded potatoes with rice, while others had steamed buns with pickled vegetables.

The best part was eating dumplings. She looked down at the steamed buns in the plastic bag and thought she had eaten the best in the office that day.

I sat down at my seat, opened the bag, and just the smell was amazing.
