Chapter 73 Zhou An'an strikes again, with a new way to make money!

Song Lingling came in from outside carrying a basin. When she saw that her older brother had vomited blood, she rushed over immediately in a panic.

She hadn't expected the consequences to be so serious, and regretted making such a scene last night; she should have just held back.

"Brother, why are you coughing up blood? Are you alright?!"

Song Weidong wiped his lips with his hand and saw that it was indeed blood. He had had this before, and the doctor said it was caused by anger.

Looking at his disappointing younger sister, he didn't want to say much, but then he thought of his mother and had no choice but to speak.

How is Mom?

"The doctor said the situation isn't good. Mom is completely paralyzed now; she can't even move her fingers or speak. She'll be a useless person from now on." Song Lingling's voice trailed off. "Brother, what are we going to do?"

Upon hearing that his mother had become completely disabled, Song Weidong nearly vomited blood again. Since Lu Zhixia left, his life had become a mess.

"What else can we do but take care of them?"

Song Lingling thought of the vicious nanny, "Brother, we can't let that Sun Meihua get away with it. It was because of her negligence that Mom became like this."

Song Weidong was also furious. He had spent such a high price, only to end up harming his mother.

Where is she?

“They took him away by the law enforcement team. It was Chen Jianing who reported the case,” Song Lingling said guiltily. “Brother, I know I was wrong. I was the one who did something wrong before. I will never make you angry again.”

Looking at his ignorant younger sister, Song Weidong felt he couldn't say anything to her, nor could he hit her; if he lost his temper, she would just run away.

Who is that person?

"What?" Song Lingling looked up at her older brother with a puzzled expression.

"Who is that man?" Song Weidong wanted a cigarette, but after looking around and finding there were no cigarettes, his tone became more serious. "Which brat did this? What are you trying to hide?"

"He's a street vendor..."

Song Lingling couldn't continue speaking; she knew her brother would be angry.

"A small-time hoodlum?"

Song Weidong coughed violently. He never expected that his pampered younger sister would be seduced by a petty thug.

Song Lingling quickly came over to pat her brother's back, but after only a few pats, he pushed her away, almost causing her to fall to the ground. She cried out in grievance,

"elder brother!"

"You're acting all aggrieved? Don't you even think about what you've done!" Song Weidong patted his chest. "I sent you to school so you could have a bright future! And what have you done?!"

"Brother, I like him. I liked him the moment I saw him. I believe we will be happy together!"

When she said these words, Song Lingling felt particularly uncertain. If it weren't for the marks on her body, she would have believed Ding Xueqing unconditionally.

She was forcing herself to speak at this moment only out of spite; she couldn't let her brother look down on her.

"He's just a street hustler, does he even have a job?"

"Do you have family assets?"

"Do you have parents?"

Song Weidong grew increasingly anxious as he questioned her, realizing the man had nothing at all. He stared wide-eyed at his sister.

"So what do you like about him?"

“He’s good-looking!” Song Lingling said timidly.

Song Weidong raised his hand to hit his sister, but seeing her close her eyes in fear, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

He slapped himself hard across the face, the sound loud and deafening.

Upon seeing this, Song Lingling was first taken aback, then quickly grasped her brother's hand.

Why are you hitting yourself?

“It’s the father’s fault if the son is not taught. I’m your older brother, but you just happen to be someone who can’t think straight. What’s the use of being good-looking?” He looked directly into his sister’s eyes. “Can it be eaten? Can it be spent like money?”

Song Lingling shrank back again. "But I just like him. If we have no money or food, we still have you, right? You earn so much money, you can take care of our food and drink! And when we have children, you'll take care of them too, since you're my brother."

Song Weidong was so angry he felt like he was going to vomit blood again. He felt a churning in his chest, his hands involuntarily loosened, and then he lay back down.

"I can't reason with you. If you like her, then marry her. Anyway, you're not my daughter! Whether you live a good or bad life afterward is none of my business."

"Don't expect me to give you a single penny; you're just my sister."

"Brother!" Song Lingling cried out in despair, "You can't abandon me! I'm your own sister, the closest person to you in the world. We share the same blood!"

Song Weidong waved his hand, "I can't control you. Just live the life you want and stop bothering me! Otherwise, I'll have to risk my life for you!"

Song Lingling cried, tears streaming down her face; this time, she was truly heartbroken.

Chen Jianing came in from outside, holding a payment slip in her hand. She didn't want to clean up a man's mess. She had already been generous enough by paying a 10 yuan deposit yesterday.

The scene inside the house was what she wanted to see; the more chaotic it became, the better it would be for her.

"Dong-ge, what's going on with you guys? Why are you arguing again!"

Seeing that Chen Jianing's mood had finally improved, Song Weidong took her hand as she approached.

"Thank goodness you were here, otherwise I really wouldn't know what to do!"

"What are you saying? We're like family. If I don't help you, who will? Take good care of yourself. The doctor said you vomited blood because you were in a panic. It shouldn't be a big problem. As long as you don't vomit blood again, you'll be fine," Chen Jianing said in a coquettish voice. "But the doctor also said that you can't get angry anymore. It's bad for your health."

Song Weidong nodded. He knew all too well that getting angry like this was bad for his health; it was just that things kept happening one after another.

Thinking of the culprit, I wondered, "What did the police station say? How will they punish Sun Meihua?"
