Chapter 91 Human Traffickers shuhaige.net shuhaige.net

"Mind your own business, this is my child."

"Little friend, do you know this person?" Lu Zhixia asked, just to be on the safe side.

The little boy had just spoken when the man covered his mouth, and he could only make muffled sounds.

“My child is a bit sick and likes to talk nonsense. I really am from here, and my surname is Fang!” the man said confidently. “My wife is waiting anxiously for the child at home, so I’m taking the child with me now.”

The little boy's eyes were full of tears, and he kept shaking his head.

Lu Zhixia reached out to block his way, "You can leave the child behind, or you can come back to the tenement building with me. You can't go inside!"

"You bitch! Do you really have to meddle in other people's business today?" The man revealed a fierce look. He saw that there was no one around, and the person in front of him was just a woman.

With the thought that there would be no witnesses if he simply knocked her down, he clenched his fist and punched the woman in the face.

Lu Zhixia dodged to the side, avoiding the punch, and then kicked the man in the shin.

I could have kicked him in the butt, but considering the child was in his hands, it wouldn't be good if they both fell down.

The man suddenly knelt down and lost his grip on the child, who ran away.

The little boy cried loudly as he gained his freedom!

The man decided to stop pretending, stood up, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to beat the woman. However, when he saw someone in a law enforcement uniform walking over from a distance, he could only utter some harsh words.

"You just wait, I won't let you get away with this!"

After saying that, he turned and ran away. If he had run any slower, he would have been caught.

As the saying goes, "Where there's life, there's hope."

Lu Zhixia knew that one shouldn't pursue a cornered enemy too far; if the enemy had reinforcements ahead, she would be in trouble. She quickly picked up the crying child and comforted him.

"Little Bao, the bad guys have been driven away, let's not cry!"

Luo Cheng rushed over with his men, only to find out that the woman was Lu Zhixia, the one who provided the clue yesterday.

"Comrade Lu!"

Seeing that it was the enforcement team from yesterday, Lu Zhixia quickly pointed forward.

"You guys hurry up and catch him. The one who ran away is a human trafficker. He wanted to kidnap this child, but I saved him."

Upon hearing this, Luo Cheng was alarmed and quickly led his men to chase after them.

Lu Zhixia took out some candy from her pocket and put it into the child's mouth.

"My dear grandson, what have you done!" the old woman shouted as she ran, "Who are you? Put down my child!"

When Lu Zhixia saw that there was another elderly person, she became wary and hugged the child even tighter.

Upon seeing her grandmother, the child started crying again, repeatedly calling out, "Grandma!"

Lu Zhixia heard the child speak, and then looked at the old woman who was about to walk over in the distance.

"Sweetie, is this your grandma?"

The old woman ran over, recognized the woman in front of her, then looked at her grandson, who had candy in his mouth, unwilling to spit it out even as he cried. She immediately questioned him.

"Who are you? Why are you holding my grandson?"

Lu Zhixia quickly explained, "I live in the tenement building. Just now, a man tried to take your grandson away, but I stopped him."

Upon hearing this, the old woman carefully examined the person in front of her.

Do you live on the third floor?

"Yes, I live on the third floor. I just moved here a few days ago."

The old woman breathed a sigh of relief. The young woman in front of her wasn't a child trafficker. She reached out and picked up the child. Seeing that the little one was safe and sound and had stopped crying, she smiled and said to the young woman...

"I'm sorry, I was just too nervous. I thought you were a human trafficker."

"Auntie! Although I'm not a child trafficker, there really was one who tried to steal a child just now. They even fought with me. Luckily, we ran into the law enforcement team, and they chased after him."

Upon hearing this, the old woman immediately tensed up and hugged her grandson tightly.

"These outrageous, despicable human traffickers, how can they do such inhuman things, stealing other people's children!"

Lu Zhixia took out a handkerchief and wiped the little guy's face. She then touched the child's cheek, and the little guy immediately smiled. He was a very handsome little boy with a chubby face, just like a New Year's picture doll hanging on the wall.

"Things have been pretty chaotic lately, so it's best to keep the kids indoors as much as possible."

“I understand. I definitely won’t let the kids go out to play these next few days. Just now, some of the neighbor’s kids wanted to come out, and my little rascal insisted on going with them. I saw them run back to the tenement building, and when I didn’t see Xiaobao, I rushed out immediately. Luckily, the kids ran into you, otherwise my grandson would be gone.” The old lady said with lingering fear, “These people are really awful. Why doesn’t God take them away!”

"Auntie, calm down! Bad people get their just desserts, someone will take care of them sooner or later!" Lu Zhixia patted the child's head; the child was so cute.

The car horn sounded, and she looked up, not knowing when Gu Lingxiao's car had arrived.
