"I don't know either. We were in the water room just now. I went to the restroom and told my sister to wait at the door. When I came out, she was gone. I thought she had gone home." Zhou Yong was also anxious, and tears streamed down his face. "Mom, where could my sister have gone?"
"I don't know either!" Su Lan said almost in despair. Just then, she saw Lu Zhixia and hurriedly went over to her. "Yuanyuan is missing! What are we going to do?"
Lu Zhixia had sorted things out by this time, so she asked Zhou Yong, "When did you go to the toilet? How much time has passed since your sister was lost?"
"I only stayed for a few minutes, and then I came out and didn't see anyone, so I went home and saw that no one was in the house, so I asked my mother."
Zhou Yong was just a child of about 10 years old. He felt extremely guilty for losing his younger sister. Instead of wailing, he sobbed.
Mom clearly told him to keep an eye on his younger siblings and not let them out of his sight recently, so how come he forgot this morning?
Looking at the concerned gazes of everyone in the apartment building, Lu Zhixia felt that the child had not been moved out in the short term, because everyone was busy early in the morning and people were coming and going in the corridor. If she rashly took the child downstairs, someone would definitely see her.
I looked around but didn't see Liu Yue'e. This woman must be in the middle of something exciting, so she wouldn't stay out to watch unless she felt guilty.
The child might be at her house, so she told Su Lan.
"Want to take a gamble?"
"I dare!" Su Lan said firmly. "For the sake of my child, there's nothing I wouldn't dare!"
Lu Zhixia then took Su Lan's hand and resolutely headed towards Liu Yue'e's house. Zhou Cheng had returned to the countryside and was unfortunately not there at that time, so he couldn't help.
So they had no choice but to force their way in, even if they made a mistake, she would accept it!
At worst, he could apologize to Liu Yue'e in public, what else could he do?
They quickly arrived at Liu Yue'e's door, and tried to open it by pulling on the door, but it wouldn't open, so they slammed the door shut.
"Liu Yue'e, come out here!"
"Don't hide inside, get out here right now!"
"I'll count to three, and if you don't come out by then, I'll have someone smash the door down!"
"1!"
"2!"
The door was opened, and a flustered Liu Yue'e appeared. She saw a group of people standing at the door and knew they would be suspicious. She didn't expect them to come knocking so soon.
Fortunately, the girl had already been drugged and placed in a camphor wood box under the bed, so no matter how much they called out, she wouldn't come out.
As long as she kept them at the door, no matter how much they argued, it wouldn't make a difference. So she crossed her arms and leaned against the doorframe.
"You want to argue with me? Have I done anything to you lately? What are you doing so early in the morning? Can't you even let a person live?"
"Liu Yue'e! Is my daughter in your house?" Su Lan said through gritted teeth, "Hand over my child right now!"
Liu Yue'e was in a great mood. Seeing others in a hurry made her happy. She put her right hand to her mouth and blew on her freshly painted nail polish. The blood-red color was so beautiful; she loved it so much. She hummed to herself, "..."
"I'm not your nanny, why should I take care of your child? If your child gets lost, what does that have to do with me?"
"Why are you all making such a fuss? Do you think I stole the child?"
"I haven't left the house much this morning, don't accuse me of anything wrong!"
"You need to provide evidence. Everyone's out this early in the morning, how could I possibly bring a child back without being discovered?"
She stood with her hands on her hips and spoke with righteous indignation, "I do have conflicts with Su Lan, but even if there are huge conflicts, I would never steal a child. That's illegal, okay?" She pointed to her face with her right hand, "I'm a person who knows the law, and I would never do such a thing!"
Then he pointed to the sky and said, "I swear to God, I didn't steal your child!"
After hearing this, everyone felt that it made sense; how could they possibly steal the child back into the house right under their noses?
Although they didn't see it with their own eyes, they felt it was unlikely.
"Old Zhou's wife, are you sure you haven't made a mistake?"
"That's right! Although she's not very reliable, she wouldn't do something so heinous!"
"Indeed, it's a great coincidence that we live in the same building. Let's not start conflicts all the time!"
Looking at their faces, Lu Zhixia said, "So you're not worried because it's not your child who's gone missing? Today it's the Lan family's child who's gone missing, but if your child goes missing tomorrow morning, will you still be so calm?"
They immediately fell silent. Indeed, whoever was stabbed by the knife would feel the pain, but since it wasn't stabbed at them, they didn't feel anything.
Liu Yue'e saw that they were no longer calm after being persuaded.
"What are you doing? You can't just falsely accuse people!"
"Let me search and I'll find out!" Lu Zhixia didn't give her a chance to talk nonsense. She grabbed his arm, pushed him away, and strode into the house.
Liu Yue'e couldn't let anyone into the house, so she rushed over to stop Lu Zhixia. If they found the child under the bed, that would be terrible.
Su Lan opened her arms and wrapped them around Liu Yue'e's waist, trapping her tightly.
You are not allowed to go anywhere!
"What are you doing? Why are you hugging me like this!"
Liu Yue'e panicked immediately because she saw Lu Zhixia enter the room. Could she still hide the child in the wooden box under the bed?
"Get off me right now! You're trespassing on my property!"
"I can report you to the police station!"
"I won't!" Su Lan hugged the person tightly with both hands, her expectant eyes looking at the curtain.
As soon as Lu Zhixia entered the room, she covered her nose with her hand. A large bed was piled with messy clothes, and there were leftovers on the table. It was too hot, and the food had already gone bad.
