Gu Lingxiao smiled and spoke again.
"Brother! Please bless me so I can succeed!"
The wind outside blew in again, as if encouraging him.
Gu Lingxiao lay on the bed and closed his eyes. There were only three hours left until dawn, and he wanted to take a nap.

Lu Zhixia was awakened by a soft knock on the door. She rubbed her eyes, got out of bed, put on her shoes, and then opened the door to see Su Lan standing there.
"Good morning, Sister Lan!"
What time did you get back last night?
Su Lan asked with concern, put her arm around Lu Zhixia's waist and escorted her back to the house. Looking at Lu Zhixia's sleepy eyes, it was clear that she hadn't had enough sleep.
"I don't remember what time I got back, but it was pretty late anyway."
Lu Zhixia yawned and sat on the bed. She looked up at the clock on the wall and saw that it was 6:30 in the morning. Normally, she would have already eaten breakfast.
"What time is the train today?" Su Lan asked.
Lu Zhixia snapped out of her daze and hurriedly stood up. "I remember it was 9:10. Luckily you called me, otherwise I wouldn't have had enough time. I need to go wash my hair!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he grabbed the basin and hurriedly went out.
Su Lan could only shout, "There's hot water in the kettle by the door. It's getting a bit chilly, don't wash your hair with cold water, or you'll catch a cold while you're out!"
Lu Zhixia had already walked far away, but she turned back to pick up the water bottle, because it was indeed getting a bit chilly.
I washed my hair in the washroom and felt completely refreshed.
When I came back with the basin, I saw that breakfast was already laid out on the table: millet porridge, cold radish strips, and salted duck eggs cut into wedges.
She quickly put the basin back inside, then returned to sit down and eat breakfast, wiping her hair with a towel after finishing her meal.
Su Lan took out another plate of pancakes and put it on the table.
"Try this; it's something I made this morning. Take some with you for the road."
Lu Zhixia took a bite of the pancake and gave it a thumbs up, "This pancake is delicious and soft, much better than the ones I make!"
Su Lan smiled happily after hearing this, "I also boiled salted duck eggs and chicken eggs, a total of 20. Do you think that's enough? If not, I'll boil more."
Upon hearing that Su Lan had cooked so many eggs, Lu Zhixia quickly shook her head.
"That's enough, that's plenty. Besides, we can buy other food on the way."
Su Lan said, "I was worried that you wouldn't be used to the food, and besides, food outside isn't clean. If you get an upset stomach, you'll have diarrhea!"
Lu Zhixia thought so too. This trip needed to be completed quickly. They weren't going on a sightseeing trip, so they couldn't afford to waste time.
"Okay, I'll pack everything, and I'll bring the water bottle too."
“That’s right. When you’re out and about, you have to rely on yourself. It’s good to be prepared. Oh, and I’ll bring you a few more pills.” Su Lan got up again, went back into the room, took out a medicine bottle from the drawer, poured out a few pills of each kind, wrapped them in paper, and then wrote the name of the medicine on the surface with a pencil. After confirming that everything was correct, she took it out.
"Put painkillers, diarrhea medicine, and a few anti-inflammatory pills in your bag. Take them with you in case you feel unwell. If you can't handle it, go to the hospital. Don't try to tough it out just because you're young!"
"Sister Lan, it feels so good to be nagged by you. I remember everything you said." Lu Zhixia felt sweet inside; it felt so good to be cared for.
Su Lan peeled the eggs from the bowl and put them in her bowl. Seeing her eat them made her happier than if she had eaten the eggs herself.
Lu Zhixia drank two bowls of porridge and felt that life was just like this: when you're full, you have nothing to worry about.
I took the things Su Lan had prepared into the house, and then started packing my own simple luggage. I made sure to bring two sets of clothes to change into, as well as toiletries. I didn't know how many days I would be staying, so it was better to be prepared.
After packing, he managed to put together a small bag, then stuffed the water bottle inside. It looked quite full, and someone who didn't know better would think he was going out to work.
Su Lan came in carrying a shoebox. "These are the new shoes I bought last time I went out. Take them and wear them out!"
Lu Zhixia quickly refused, "That won't do, you haven't even worn the shoes you bought much yet!"
Su Lan's face fell. "What's wrong with me? Do I not have any influence now? When you're out in the world, you have to dress up, otherwise people will look down on you. I know you're richer than me now, but you're not unprepared. Wear my shoes first. Besides, you're only wearing them for a few days. You can't wear my shoes out."
Lu Zhixia was deeply moved. She had met many people in her life, but apart from her grandfather and Gu Lingxiao, there were no others like Su Lan.
"Then it's a deal, I'll buy you a new pair when I get back, and you can't refuse!"
"Okay, I'll be waiting to wear your new shoes." Su Lan readily agreed and sat on the bed, ready to play matchmaker.
What do you think of Xiao Gu?
"He's a really good person, helpful, courageous, and most importantly, very loyal!" Lu Zhixia praised him generously. "I'm so lucky to have a friend like him!"
"Just friends?" Su Lan asked.
"What else could it be? How about I become his godparent?" Lu Zhixia said with a carefree laugh. "Well, it wouldn't hurt if he were a year or two older than me!"
Seeing her carefree attitude, Su Lan felt anxious for her, but then she thought that her sister had just gotten divorced and probably hadn't even considered that aspect.
It doesn't seem like the right time to break the ice, so I decided to wait and see. I promptly changed the subject.
"Give me the key when you leave. There's a lot of food left in this house, I need to help you finish it."
"Then everything here is in your hands. If the weather is nice, open the windows to air it out, otherwise the house will be very damp." Lu Zhixia took out the keys and tossed them to Su Lan. "It's a new house I bought. Even with renovations, I can't move in anytime soon. I'll still be living here!"
