Lu Yan unlocked the door and entered the house. She heard voices coming from the bedroom. She remembered hearing them say last night that a photographer would be coming to take full-moon photos today.
She secretly envied her two younger brothers for being able to grow up under their mother's loving care.
He quietly put his schoolbag on the table.
Gu Lingxiao came outside upon hearing the noise. "Yan Yan, hurry back and change your clothes. We're taking a family photo later. By the way, where's Xiao Linzi? Why hasn't he come back yet?"
When Lu Yan heard that photos could be taken, she immediately smiled and said, "He'll be up here in a bit after he talks to someone for a few minutes."
Just then, the door opened, and Gu Huailin came in carrying his schoolbag.
Lu Yan excitedly told him, "Hurry up and change your clothes, we're going to take pictures."
Gu Huailin: "What kind of photos should we take?"
As Lu Yan pulled him into the house, she said, "We need to take a family photo!"
Gu Huailin then realized what was going on, and he was pushed back into the house.
Lu Yan waited for him to finish changing his clothes before she went in to change hers.
Soon everyone gathered in the living room to take their first family photo.
The photographer packed up the camera. "Come back in two days to pick it up!"
Gu Lingxiao said, "Thank you, Master. I'll take you there."
The photographer slung his bag over his shoulder and said, "No need, I can go downstairs myself. Your family is so happy. I feel happy just taking your picture."
Gu Lingxiao insisted on seeing the person downstairs, and only went back upstairs after watching the person ride away on a bicycle.
Lu Yan washed her hands and went back into the house to help take care of the children. Watching her younger brothers grow up day by day, she felt so happy.
Especially recently, Grandpa's health has been getting better and better, and he smiles more often. It seems that everything is developing in a positive direction.
When Lu Zhixia returned to the house, she saw her daughter skillfully changing the baby's diaper. She felt gratified but also heartbroken. This child was so sensible at such a young age.
After settling her younger brother, Lu Yan turned around and said, "Mom, why didn't you tell me yesterday that we were going to take pictures today?"
Lu Zhixia said, "I was too tired yesterday and forgot to mention it. Anyway, we'll take pictures when you guys come back."
Lu Yan walked over slowly, "I thought you were only taking pictures of the younger brother."
Lu Zhixia now understood what was going on; her daughter was jealous, so she quickly hugged the child.
"Didn't I tell you before that if you feel uncomfortable or think I'm being biased, just say so? I will definitely treat everyone equally."
"Mom, I understand. I won't do it again next time."
The mother and daughter cuddled tenderly until Gu Lingxiao came in from outside.
Lu Yan then playfully skipped away, not wanting to disturb her parents' time together.
After wiping his sweat with a towel, Gu Lingxiao asked, "What's wrong? What's wrong with the child now?"
Lu Zhixia: "They're jealous!"
Gu Lingxiao: "This little kid already knows how to be jealous."
Lu Zhixia said, "That's because you men are so careless, that's why you think the kids are jealous."
Gu Lingxiao thought about his own embarrassing past and realized that he was indeed not good at taking care of children.
"I will listen to you when it comes to educating the children from now on."
Lu Zhixia pinched his cheek and looked at his handsome face, feeling incredibly lucky.
At the same time, she looked down at her belly and said, "I gave birth a month ago, so why is my weight loss so slow?"
Gu Lingxiao quickly pulled her close and changed the subject, "I want to eat dumplings tonight, shall we make some?"
Lu Zhixia's train of thought was interrupted, and she looked up and said,
"Sure! We happen to have some chives in the kitchen."
"Then I'll go knead the dough." Gu Lingxiao rolled up his sleeves.
Lu Zhixia turned around and saw that the two children were asleep. She quickly covered them with blankets and then went to the kitchen to get some chives to pick back in the room.
The whole family made these dumplings together, so we ate them very quickly.
The summer weather is too hot, and the two children can fall asleep or wake up at will.
They were exhausted from all the commotion, and after being coaxed back to sleep, the two of them collapsed onto the bed.
Lu Zhixia poked his chest with her hand, "How could we two have caused such a big disaster, having two kids all at once?"
Gu Lingxiao chuckled, "You really know how to describe things. Have we really gotten ourselves into trouble?"
Lu Zhixia rested her head on his arm and pinched his face with her hand. "I originally thought I would achieve great things, but I ended up having two kids. If this isn't your fault, then who is?"
Gu Lingxiao took her hand and kissed her fingers.
Lu Zhixia was instantly stunned. How could this be? She had been thinking about it ever since she gave birth.
"Let go right now!"
"I don't."
The two of them pulled and tugged at each other, rolling around and then becoming fiercely entangled.
They were separating as the child cried. Both brothers cried tonight because they were both busy comforting the child.
After putting the child to sleep, they were so exhausted that all they wanted to do was sleep.
Cai Wei came over to make breakfast in the morning and saw that her son was not in a good mood. Then she saw her daughter-in-law come out, and she was in the same bad mood.
Then it suddenly occurred to her, "After my confinement period, will they end up together?"
So after her son came out of the bathroom, she decisively pulled him back into the house.
"Tell me the truth, are you two..."
"What's wrong with us?" Gu Lingxiao asked.
Cai Wei pinched her son's arm hard. "Don't play dumb with me. Tell me, are you two together or not!"
Gu Lingxiao then realized why his mother had pinched him, and quickly comforted her,
"No, how could that be? We are people who know our limits."
Cai Wei softened her tone and said to her son, "That's more like it. Let me tell you, this is the most important time for a woman, so don't make a mistake!"
