Lu Zhixia casually fanned herself with a paper fan. "I still need to find Brother Biao. After you finish eating, go and call him for me."
Old Zhang: "This time we don't need to wait. Brother Biao is collecting the houses in the back. I'll go call some people and they'll be here soon!"
Lu Zhixia: "He bought another house!"
Old Zhang laughed, "That's right, we've found fish again. This time we can make a little money, so I'm taking people to collect the houses."
Lu Zhixia knew this was no simple matter when she heard that people were being brought along.
"Then go and call him. If he's not busy, have him come over. If he is, I'll come over again tomorrow and have him wait for me here."
"Okay, I'll go find it." Old Zhang scurried off.
Lu Zhixia went inside to call the people out, and they waited to eat together.
Everyone was overjoyed to see that it was another hearty dish.
"Comrade Lu, it's a promise, if you ever need to build a house in the future, you must come to us again!"
"Yes! You absolutely must hire us, we love doing this kind of work!"
Feeling everyone's enthusiasm, Lu Zhixia couldn't bear to refuse, so she said,
"Okay, if I need to renovate the house again, I'll definitely have Brother Biao contact you!"
Only then did the group begin to eat and drink, and their lives got better and better. After the job was settled, they felt they had something to give their families.
They had previously committed a crime and gone to jail, which caused hardship for their wife, children, and parents. Now they are working hard to earn money so that their family can live a better life and never be looked down upon again!
Brother Biao was quickly found by Lao Zhang. Upon learning that Lu Zhixia had arrived, he quickly resolved the matter and then returned with Lao Zhang.
As soon as he entered the courtyard, he saw Lu Zhixia talking to everyone. Those people were drinking and eating, living a better life than him.
"You bought them things again!" he asked directly.
When Lu Zhixia saw Brother Biao return, she quickly got up from the stool.
"I can just buy some on the way. I came here today specifically to see you."
"What's up?" Brother Biao took the beer bottle from his underling, opened his mouth and chugged half of it, then wiped his mouth with his sleeve.
"This wine is delicious!"
Lu Zhixia said, "It's like this! My neighbor's village has a lot of apples and pears. I was thinking that if I could hire a big truck to transport them to other cities to sell, I should be able to make some money from the price difference."
Upon hearing about making money, Brother Biao immediately handed the bottle to another person.
"Let's go over there and discuss this in detail!"
Lu Zhixia then followed him outside to talk under a big tree.
Lu Zhixia said, "Here's what I'm thinking: the weather isn't too hot now, which is perfect for transportation. As long as we find a suitable city, we can wholesale the fruit. We won't sell it by the pound or two like they do; we'll focus on volume and make a profit from the price difference!"
Brother Biao thought for a moment, "I haven't tried the way you mentioned for making money, but I can give it a try!"
Lu Zhixia: "Then can you find a car?"
Brother Biao said, "The car is easy to find; I can ask a transport fleet to spare one of our vehicles. But where are we headed? We'll need a driver!"
Lu Zhixia: "I just happen to be going to Jiangdu. What do you think of it?"
Brother Biao paced back and forth a few steps. "If you think it's okay, then it's okay. Next, we'll talk about profit sharing. How much will you give me?"
Lu Zhixia: "How about you take 30% and I'll take 70%?"
Brother Biao thought the profit split was acceptable. "Okay, then it's settled. I'm confident we can make it work based on the girl's character!"
Lu Zhixia liked dealing with straightforward people. She glanced at her watch; there was still half an hour until her appointment with Gu Lingxiao. So she told Brother Biao…
"You order the car first, then we'll meet again tomorrow!"
“Okay!” Brother Biao readily agreed.
Lu Zhixia rode her bicycle back to the apartment building quickly. Just as she got off the bicycle, she heard the sound of a horn honking.
Looking back, she saw that it was a military vehicle, so she parked her bicycle.
After the two of them got out of the car.
Gu Lingxiao: "You went out again?"
Lu Zhixia said, "I promised Aunt Pang that I would help them sell the village's fruit and make some profit in the process. Today I went to see Brother Biao, and he agreed to provide the truck. We'll split the profits 30/70!"
Gu Lingxiao frowned. "This business must be difficult to run."
Lu Zhixia said, "I happen to be going to Jiangdu, so I thought I'd just test the waters by bringing the fruit there first. If it makes money, I can try it again later."
Gu Lingxiao: "I'll support you no matter what you do!"
Lu Zhixia liked his doting attitude, which allowed her to act boldly and without restraint.
Xiao Wang said, "Sister-in-law, we just did something really important."
Lu Zhixia looked at Xiao Wang, "What are you doing?"
Xiao Wang said smugly, "Let's go to the law enforcement office and report this to them so they can arrest Lin Yueru!"
Lu Zhixia truly hadn't expected them to do such a thing. She looked at Gu Lingxiao and asked, "Aren't Uncle and Aunt on very good terms with the Lin family?"
Gu Lingxiao said, "I can make the decision on this. Since we've already torn off all pretense, let's tear it off to the end!"
Lu Zhixia: "How long will she be locked up?"
Gu Lingxiao said, "I can't say for sure, but she definitely won't keep her job."
Xiao Wang said, "We've been busy with this all morning. We even brought several witnesses over to explain the details."
Lu Zhixia was deeply moved. Gu Lingxiao had risked everything for her, disregarding all consequences, just to avenge her and vent her anger.
"It's so kind of you."
Gu Lingxiao smiled indulgently, "I told her yesterday that things won't just end like that! No matter who it is, they have to pay the price for their mistakes!"
