Chapter 65 Men's Little Thoughts

I figured Su Lan must have made the buns and was already steaming them.

When I got to the front door and opened the pot lid, I saw that the steamed buns were plump and white, so I quickly put the lid back on.

Su Lan came out of the house carrying her daughter. "Knowing you'd be back late, I made the steamed buns in advance, but they're not as pretty as yours."

Lu Zhixia was very grateful for Su Lan's help, as she always helped her in ways she didn't realize, and she appreciated the kindness.

Then I opened another pot lid and saw that the bones were already braised. The color was beautiful, and the aroma was so enticing that it made my mouth water.

"Your soup base is excellent. It's been simmering for over two hours. I picked it up with chopsticks, and the meat was practically falling off the bone. I also tasted it, and the saltiness was just right, so I turned off the heat."

Su Lan subconsciously pursed her lips; those bones were the kind that anyone would want to eat.

Lu Zhixia remembered it was 14 yuan. She had already decided how to allocate it: 2 yuan for Su Lan, 8 yuan for Director Yu, and the rest for Grandpa Bai.

Su Lan saw two bones on the plate and immediately realized they were for her.

"Xiaxia, don't save any for me!"

"Yesterday, Director Yu said he only wanted half, so we were supposed to keep half. But I ran into Grandpa Bai yesterday, so I thought I'd give him some steamed buns and bones."

"Then take them all, don't leave any for us."

"Stop arguing with me. We definitely need to keep two bones. Don't waste time. After I pack the bones, I still need to pack the buns. Then I have to go out and get busy."

Su Lan didn't refuse anymore, feeling a warmth in her heart. That's how people get along—it's all about putting yourself in someone else's shoes.

Lu Zhixia deliberately let the buns cool down a bit longer, and then put them into bags while they were still warm. Each bag contained four buns, so they could be sold directly when taken out.

Liu Yue'e had already smelled the bones and buns; she had been hungry all day in the house.

I was so hungry I couldn't stand it anymore, so I pushed open the door and went outside, and saw them packing buns.

Those plump, white buns looked very tempting, and the aroma of the bones was even more enticing.

I was furious. Why were they living such a prosperous life?

It's both steamed buns and stewed pork bones.

"Wow! You guys have struck it rich, making so much delicious food."

Lu Zhixia turned around and saw that Liu Yue'e's hair was messy, clearly she hadn't combed it for many days, and her clothes looked dirty, making her look completely different from when they first met.

"You're so sloppy! You should really take care of yourself!"

Liu Yue'e was very angry after being criticized, but she knew she couldn't win an argument or a fight.

Looking at the child in Su Lan's arms, she felt a surge of malice.

A thought suddenly popped into my head: if I secretly sold this child, wouldn't I have money?

I've been wanting to steal their money, but after observing them for several days, I realized that everyone's schedules are quite regular.

Even if no one is home, people will come back soon. It's really hard to control, mainly because the apartment buildings are too densely packed.

If one house makes a sound, the other house will definitely know, so the money can't be stolen.

But it's different with children. It seems that they don't value children very much. The older children in the family take care of the younger ones.

Then, while I was busy cooking, the children would run around, and some would even run outside to play.

Lu Zhixia raised an eyebrow. Liu Yue'e's gaze was strange, so she could only resort to harsh words.

Stop having all those messy thoughts!

Su Lan continued, "Liu Yue'e! It's not that we're making things difficult for you, it's just that what you've done is so annoying. You've offended everyone in this building, what more do you want?"

"What can I do? We'll just go our separate ways and see what happens! As they say, fortunes change every thirty years!"

After saying that, he turned around and went back into the house, slamming the door shut with a bang.

The next second, the child in the next room started crying.

Then someone cursed, "Who the hell slammed the door like that?! Do they have a death wish?!"

Lu Zhixia whispered to Su Lan, "I feel like something's off with her. Be careful, I'm afraid she might be up to something."

Su Lan nodded, "I understand, I will be careful."

Lu Zhixia then picked up the box and said to Su Lan, "I'll set up my stall now." She had only taken a few steps when she remembered and turned back.

"Don't leave me any dinner tonight, I might eat at Grandpa Bai's house."

"Okay, I got it. Be careful on the road and watch out for cars."

"Okay, I'm off then!"

After Lu Zhixia finished speaking, she carried the box downstairs, having already planned out her goals.

Reserve 20 buns and sell the rest.

Hearing the sound of footsteps coming downstairs, Liu Yue'e cursed, "You all just wait! If I don't have a good time, none of you will have one either!"

"We'll sell all your children then, so you'll cry every day and never be able to sleep at night."

As she imagined this, she burst into maniacal laughter!
