Zhou Qiao's expression froze; she hadn't brought any food.
When she saw the teacher telling everyone to find a place to rest and eat something, her face turned pale and ashen.
I was inwardly resentful that the teacher hadn't explained things clearly before sending people to climb the mountain.
Isn't that just insulting people?
But what I didn't expect was that there wasn't even anything to eat on the mountain.
She did bring a handbag, but it was just an accessory.
It's filled with her makeup supplies; there's no way she would put food in there.
There's nothing there right now.
Seeing Pei Tiantian ask about food, she looked a little embarrassed and said, "I'm sorry, Tiantian, Auntie didn't expect to come hiking, so I wasn't prepared and didn't bring any food."
"Don't worry, Auntie will buy you something to eat when we get down the mountain. Just bear with it for now."
Pei Tiantian either drinks porridge or eats steamed buns in the morning.
It's not very filling to begin with.
After exercising for so long, I'm starving.
Upon hearing this, her face turned pale.
At that moment, she smelled the aroma of eggs.
The smell was somewhat familiar, and she instinctively looked in her brother's direction.
Sure enough, Song Yanzhi was seen handing an egg pancake to Xiao Bao and Tie Zhu respectively.
She had eaten this kind of egg pancake before. It was at Aunt Song's house. She made it for Xiaobao in the morning. There was an egg in each pancake. When you took a bite, the aroma of the pancake and the egg blended in your mouth. The aroma went straight up and made you want to eat more and more. You just couldn't stop.
She couldn't bear to finish it all.
But after leaving Xiaobao's house, she never ate anything so delicious again.
Besides egg pancakes, the family also had sweet and thirst-quenching fruits and various snacks in front of them.
When Pei Tiantian saw this, she almost couldn't help but cry.
Although Aunt Song is aloof, she cooks better than anyone else.
At this moment, Pei Tiantian actually started to appreciate Song Yanzhi.
Turning to look at Zhou Qiao, who looked annoyed, she felt resentful again.
Why didn't Aunt Zhou bring any food with her?
What's the point of dressing up so beautifully?
It only adds unnecessary burdens and troubles, and solves nothing.
In that brief moment of stunned silence, the teacher over there began praising the child who won the award.
Jin Bao'er won first place in the mountain climbing competition.
The teacher rewarded him with a small red flower and a certificate for first place in the mountain climbing competition.
Just as Jinbao was feeling proud, the teacher said again, "It is admirable that you came in first in climbing the mountain, but what is even more gratifying is that many children have grasped the true meaning of this trip: that protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility."
"First and foremost, we must commend our students Pei Ruibao and Pei Jichuan. Your proactive and positive actions have led more and more children to join the ranks of protecting the environment. Your teachers are proud of you, and everyone should applaud them."
The students and parents applauded enthusiastically, much louder than when Jin Bao'er had just won first place.
Jin Bao'er and Wang Xia's expressions turned ugly at a visible speed.
Encouraged by the teacher, many children took the initiative to go up and greet the two.
Pei Tiantian watched this scene from afar, feeling increasingly envious.
Even if she dressed up beautifully and carried an expensive backpack, people wouldn't flock around her like this.
This is what she's always wanted.
After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill and rested enough, the teacher led them to prepare to descend the mountain.
But as the saying goes, going up a mountain is easy, but coming down is hard.
After the initial excitement, the children quickly became tired.
Many children were making a fuss and complaining that they couldn't walk.
Xiao Bao also felt pain in his feet.
My legs trembled uncontrollably as I descended the mountain.
Song Yanzhi also slowed down and looked at her son with concern.
Pei Yuchen also realized the problem and whispered, "Xiaobao, are you still going? Do you want Daddy to carry you?"
Xiao Bao pursed his lips and shook his head, saying, "No, I can walk."
Song Yanzhi said, "Don't push yourself. Going downhill is bad for your knees and you can easily sprain your ankle. If you can't walk anymore, Dad will carry you for a while."
Xiao Bao said, "But you and I walked the same distance, so if I'm in pain, you'll be in pain too."
Song Yanzhi paused for a moment and exchanged a glance with Pei Yuchen.
Pei Yuchen couldn't help but laugh; his son actually knew how to care for him.
Song Yanzhi felt uneasy and said, "Your father is different from you. He exercises all year round. If his feet hurt after walking this little bit, then he has wasted all those years in the army. He could carry both of you on his back without getting tired."
Xiao Bao looked at Pei Yuchen suspiciously: "Really?"
Pei Yuchen looked at his son's distrustful gaze, chuckled helplessly, picked him up from the ground with one hand, and said in a low voice, "Your mother is right."
He was carrying his baby in his arms and other things on his back, but he walked very easily.
Tie Zhu was extremely envious. It was a pity his father wasn't there, otherwise he could have had his father carry him too.
He was a bit overweight and couldn't walk much further after a short while.
Seeing that he was looking at Xiaobao with envy, and then seeing Aunt Li walking shakily behind him, Song Yanzhi slowed down and reached out to take his hand: "Tiezhu, walk slowly too, don't rush, Xiaobao and the others will be waiting for us."
Tie Zhu nodded shyly.
Xiao Bao felt embarrassed to be held for so long, and soon he twisted his body and got down. Pei Yuchen let him be, and he couldn't help but laugh when he saw Song Yanzhi supporting Aunt Li and pulling the trembling Li Tiezhu.
But not seeing Pei Jichuan, he paused and asked, "Where's the child?"
Song Yanzhi gestured with her chin: "He said he'd wait for Pei Tiantian, so let's go first."
