Wang Xia's expression stiffened for a moment, then she laughed and said, "It's just a nominal position. I retired not long after I came back. It's nothing special. I still can't find a job now, can I?"
Song Yanzhi nodded and said, "So, is your husband a regimental commander now?"
“My husband may not be a regimental commander yet, but he will be promoted one day, unlike your husband, who will never have the chance.”

Wang Xia stood frozen in place, unsure whether to step forward and ask, "Director, are you sure you're not mistaken? He only retired not long ago, how come he became a captain? Besides, I haven't heard of anyone here who can fly a plane."
"Xiao Pei used to be an air force commander in the west. What's so strange about her becoming a captain after retiring? I remember your husband also took the exam before but failed. Didn't he tell you about it?"
