Chapter 16 Finding Trouble

He's just reading the same book over and over again, and he's gotten tired of it.

He wanted to see better, more challenging knowledge.

When Song Yan woke up, she realized she had overslept.

The children have been out of class for more than ten minutes.

She was terrified and rushed to pick up her child without even washing her face.

Unexpectedly, as soon as I stepped outside, I saw the teacher leading Xiaobao to stand at my door, asking him uncertainly, "Xiaobao, Xiaobao, is this your home?"

Xiao Bao doesn't talk, and the teacher is so worried she's going bald.

Song Yanzhi hurriedly stepped forward and said, "Teacher Liu, this is my home. I'm so sorry to trouble you, I overslept."

Teacher Liu waved her hand and said, "You're too kind, Xiao Bao's parent. I was going to wait for you to pick him up, but Xiao Bao left on his own. I was worried, so I chased after him, but he found his way home by himself. What a smart child!"

In fact, many parents there are unable to pick up their children on time every day because of overtime work or other reasons.

Sometimes they also help take you home.

It's nothing.

However, this was the first time she had ever seen someone like Xiaobao calmly find his way home after class.

“Xiao Bao has been to our child development class before, right? I think he knows the way.”

Song Yanzhi shook his head and said, "Xiao Bao usually plays in the family compound and doesn't go that far. Today is his first time going to the child development class."

Teacher Liu looked on in amazement: "He's really amazing. He remembered the way home on his first day there."

Song Yanzhi only ever heard other people talk about what was wrong with her son and why he couldn't speak yet.

This is the first time I've heard someone say that their son is amazing.

She was happy too, and smiled sincerely, "Yes, my little one just doesn't like to talk, but he's actually very smart. He even knows how to go home. He's such a good boy."

As Song Yanzhi spoke, she cupped her son's little face and kissed him on the cheek.

Xiao Bao's eyelashes trembled, somewhat unaccustomed to Song Yanzhi's sudden intimacy.

Because Song Yanzhi used to be quite reserved and traditional, she would never do such a thing to her child.

Teacher Liu smiled and left first.

Pei Jichuan stood by the door, watching this scene.

It wasn't a strange scene at all.

But for some reason, Pei Jichuan inexplicably felt a sense of longing.

Song Yanzhi patted Xiaobao's head with affection and guilt.

I feel guilty for not picking him up because I overslept.

She said apologetically, "Xiaobao, Mommy overslept today. I promise I'll pick you up every day from now on, okay?"

Xiao Bao did not have a happy childhood. Song Yanzhi's neglect and his father's indifference caused him to be distant from everyone.

Looking back, I realized he had suffered a lot of injustice.

The Pei family looked down on him and treated him like a fool.

Pei Jichuan and his sister didn't take him seriously either. Seeing that he couldn't go to school and couldn't speak, Pei Tiantian often complained about him to his face.

Later, Song Yanzhi died, and he hated the male protagonist's entire family because of this, becoming the villain in the book who opposed the male protagonist and fell out with his father for the sake of the family property.

This child is naive and ruthless; he's capable of anything.

The family members both hated and feared him.

Song Yanzhi hopes to change the child's personality and doesn't want him to go against the male lead and become cannon fodder.

Even if she doesn't get along with the male lead, she shouldn't turn against him because of her.

Xiao Bao entered the room, walked to the table and sat down. Then he unzipped his schoolbag, took out a notebook, and handed it to Song Yanzhi.

Pei Jichuan, who was about to enter the house, suddenly stopped.

Looking over, I could vaguely see some familiar numbers.

Song Yanzhi took it with a puzzled look, opened it, and saw crooked numbers.

It was a whole page long.

She was surprised that Xiao Bao was so eager to learn.

She looked down at Xiaobao; his jaw was clenched, and he seemed somewhat tense.

Song Yanzhi immediately understood.

This child has come to ask for a reward.

She immediately patted Xiaobao's head and praised him, "Xiaobao is so smart, he can do math now, Mom will give you a candy as a reward."

"But don't be too proud. Today, Mom will teach you how to write. If you can write neatly, I'll give you a reward."

She wrote down the numbers one through ten in her notebook.

Although Song Yanzhi was very happy that her child had learned addition, she knew that these things couldn't be rushed and that a solid foundation was essential.

"Write it like Mom says, don't write it outside the lines, and don't write it crooked. If you write it well, you can have an extra piece of candy today."

Xiao Bao took the notebook, tilted his head and looked at it for a while, then started writing.

Pei Jichuan immediately ran over and quietly watched Xiaobao do his homework.

Song Yanzhi went inside to change her clothes, and then went into the kitchen to make fried rice with eggs for her son.

The rice from lunch wasn't finished yet, so this is just right.

Pei Tiantian changed into her new clothes and went out to play today. When she came back, everyone had already eaten.

She was a little surprised and said, "Aunt Song, aren't we going to Grandma's house for dinner?"

Song Yanzhi hummed in agreement, instructed her son to finish his food, and then asked, "Aren't you going to eat?"

Pei Tiantian swallowed hard as she watched Xiaobao and his brother eating fried rice with eggs, but she longed to go to her grandmother's house for a big meal.

So he shook his head and said, "I'm not hungry."

Song Yanzhi chuckled but said nothing.

It was almost 5:30 when we finished eating.

Song Yanzhi didn't leave either, quietly waiting for the time to pass.

It was almost six o'clock before she took her child out.

...

At this point, the Pei family was in complete chaos.

The eldest sister-in-law, Pei Cuicui, was leading a sobbing Wang Zhenzhu to cause trouble for Wang Yanmei.

"Mom, what's wrong with you? My little sister was doing a good job, and you just sell her off like that? You've gone too far."
