Chapter 39 Returning to My Mother's Home (Part 2)

After all, you can become a teacher without an internship, and the child development class is simple and easy. Although the salary is not high, it will be an advantage if you take the exam to teach primary or junior high school in the future.

But unexpectedly, Pei Yuchen introduced her to an opportunity to attend a primary school, so there was naturally no need to go there now.

But such a good opportunity cannot be wasted.

Song Yanzhi rolled his eyes and said, "I have a request. Could you please pass it on to your leader? If he accepts it, I will agree to send Xiaobao back."

The other person paused for a moment, then nodded and listened quietly to what she had to say.

Back inside, Song Yanzhi busied herself in the kitchen cooking.

Because Pei Yuchen said he was going to visit her parents' home, she cooked a little more today, since it takes about 4 hours to get there by bus.

You'll definitely get hungry on the way.

Song Yanzhi thought for a moment, then cracked a few eggs, kneaded some flour, and made a few egg pancakes.

Although the chicken was all eaten, there was still a lot of soup left.

Song Yanzhi cooked two bowls of vermicelli in chicken broth and had the two children take them out to eat.

I continued cooking for myself.

There are four people, so she has a lot to do.

Luckily, there was a stainless steel insulated lunchbox at home. It was issued to Pei Yuchen by his unit five years ago. He had never used it and it had been sitting at home for who knows how long. Song Yanzhi thought that it would be inconvenient for Xiaobao to be hungry at school sometimes, so she took it out, washed it, and planned to use it as a lunchbox for him.

There's no need to eat too well while in the car.

Song Yanzhi thought that her future children would love to eat hamburgers, so she cut a lot of lean meat, coated it with flour, and then fried it in oil.

This crispy pork tastes just as good as popcorn chicken, and many people love to eat it.

And it's healthy too.

She fried a whole bowlful and put it in a lunchbox.

Song Yanzhi then filled several more large pancakes.

There was only enough meat for the two children, and she couldn't make exceptions for them, so she only let Xiao Bao eat it.

But Pei Yuchen didn't care about that. He was eating flatbread all by himself, so how could he have the heart to make him a bento?

After breakfast, Song Yanzhi's medicine was ready.

She held her breath and drank it all in one gulp, just as Pei Yuchen returned.

Song Yanzhi hurriedly carried a lunchbox and a milk bottle out, with a small schoolbag hanging from her hand.

It's perfect for holding baby bottles.

She took out her coat and put it on Xiaobao. It wasn't cold today; a little jacket underneath and a coat on top would be enough.

Xiao Bao's shoes make a rustling sound when he walks. As soon as he puts on his new shoes, he walks back and forth in front of Pei Jichuan, as if afraid that Pei Jichuan won't see his new shoes.

"Xiao Bao, put on your little backpack, we're going to Grandma's house."

Xiao Bao ran over in his new shoes and stretched out his little hand for Song Yanzhi to put his schoolbag on his back.

Then he reached out and hugged his baby bottle.

He straightened his back, feeling the envious gaze from Pei Jichuan.

Pei Yuchen returned and saw this scene.

Xiao Bao, carrying his little backpack and with a milk bottle around his neck, looked smug in his new clothes and shoes, his face flushed. Song Yanzhi was tying her hair in front of the mirror on the wall; she stood straight, slender, and appeared quite tall.

Perhaps because of the medicine she's been taking these past few days, Song Yanzhi's complexion is better than before.

Since they were going to the countryside today, Song Yanzhi wasn't wearing a skirt. Instead, she wore casual wide-leg pants with a white shirt tucked in half of it, revealing her slender waist.

Her hair was tied up, making her look capable and energetic.

Song Yanzhi tied her hair up and turned to look at him: "Have you bought everything?"

Pei Yuchen put down what he was holding. Song Yanzhi glanced at it and saw that it was a box of milk, a pig's trotter, and a pack of cigarettes.

"Why did you buy so much?" Not to mention the meat, this milk and such good cigarettes are things that her family would never even consider buying.

"Not much. It's my fault as the son-in-law for not visiting you for so many years."

If it weren't for the long distance and the fact that there were too many things to carry, Pei Yuchen would have liked to buy more.

Song Yanzhi was somewhat surprised. Had she remembered wrong? In her previous life, Pei Yuchen hadn't been this enthusiastic towards her family.

The main reason for going back this time was to check on the family's situation and to ask why her parents insisted on her getting married back then, but didn't ask for a dowry.

She never asked the question in her past life, after all, she felt she was content with marrying up.

She never thought about her future after that, and devoted herself to being a housewife.

But this life is different. Now she has to be independent and self-reliant, to earn her own money, and at least to support her child. In the meantime, she also needs to study. If given the opportunity, she would like to obtain a university degree, so that she can have more options in the future.

After all, I only have a high school diploma. I'm doing alright now, but in the future, let alone a high school diploma, even a junior college diploma will be looked down upon.

Back then, anyone who could become a high school teacher had at least a bachelor's or master's degree.

Song Yanzhi wanted to give her son a better life, so she had to climb the social ladder.

She took the keys and said, "Okay, let's go then."

After saying that, Song Yanzhi noticed that Pei Jichuan was still standing there.

Actually, she didn't want to take him with her, but if her mother-in-law found out, she would probably make a huge fuss. Song Yanzhi wasn't comfortable leaving him alone at home either; if something happened, she would be the one to suffer.

Her home isn't actually far away, but the roads are bad now, so she has to transfer twice to get home.

One day is definitely not enough.

Leaving the male protagonist home alone for one night is indeed a bit worrying.

She said, "You don't want to go?"

Pei Jichuan was stunned for a moment, then came to his senses and was completely dumbfounded, his face full of disbelief, "Me, can I go too?"

Song Yanzhi casually gave a reply.

Pei Jichuan subconsciously looked at Xiao Bao's expression.

Xiao Bao is unhappy.

She pouted and turned away.

These two really have never gotten along since they were little.

Song Yanzhi shook his head helplessly and told Pei Jichuan to go change his clothes.

Seeing that he was still wearing his old clothes, she frowned: "Where are the new clothes your grandma bought you? Why aren't you wearing them?"

She had seen Wang Yanmei buy him new clothes before, but the child had never worn them.

Is it because you're afraid she'll have some ideas?

It's more troublesome for her if he doesn't wear it.

If Wang Yanmei saw this, she would probably think that she had given him a hard time.

Song Yanzhi felt that being a foster mother was too difficult.

It's even harder to be a vicious foster mother.

Seeing her expression, Pei Jichuan glanced at Xiaobao, then turned around and went back to change into new clothes.

I must say, the male lead is the male lead; his demeanor changes completely when he puts on new clothes.

After the family finished packing, Song Yanzhi locked the door and set off.

It takes an hour to get to the station from here, and it was inconvenient for Pei Yuchen to carry his things, so he put them all in a snakeskin bag and carried it. He was dressed properly, but he didn't feel embarrassed at all carrying a snakeskin bag.
