When Wang Yanmei went to the textile factory, she was pointed at and gossiped about. People used to take care of her because she was an elderly woman, and her job was very easy.
However, because she offended the team leader this time, she has endless work to do every day.
Wang Yanmei directed all her anger at Zhou Qiao.
If she hadn't dressed up like that every day and harbored malicious intentions, I wouldn't have ended up in this situation.
Originally, as long as her son agreed to the marriage, she could become a team leader if she was promoted from team leader to supervisor.
Now everything is ruined.
I originally thought that once Zhou Qiao stopped coming, all these things would be over.
But the matter didn't end there; instead, it escalated.
She found a matchmaker to arrange a marriage for her son, but the other party was not willing. They even said that since things were already like this, they might as well let Zhou Qiao and her son get married. After all, they were university students, so they wouldn't lose out.
Otherwise, Zhou Qiao would have left and that would be the end of it, with no one knowing what happened, but if her son continues like this, he definitely won't be able to find a better partner.
A single word awakened me from my dream.
Wang Yanmei originally planned to have her two children raised by her eldest son, and since Zhou Qiao also liked her eldest son, she never thought of marrying her off to her younger son.
But the situation is different now. Song Yanzhi is not someone she can just get rid of. Before, she was thinking of getting rid of him and then introducing Zhou Qiao to her eldest son.
But given how things have turned out, even if Song Yanzhi leaves, her eldest son will never be interested in her.
Her younger son was also ruined by her, losing his girlfriend and losing face. Even if she tries to find him a wife again, she won't be able to find anyone better.
The issue of bride price is even more difficult.
But Zhou Qiao is different. She has already given birth to a child, and if she marries into the family, she can save a lot of money.
Although her family wasn't well-off, Zhou Qiao was a college graduate and had a job, which would help ease the family's burden in the future.
That's a pretty good solution.
"Achoo~" Pei Hai carried several styrofoam boxes filled with vegetables into the yard and sneezed.
"Sister-in-law, should we put it here?"
Song Yanzhi walked out the door and saw him. "Yes, just put it there. What brings you here?"
“My brother asked me to deliver this. He said Xiaobao was interested in the vegetables you grow in front of your house, so I brought it over.”
Pei Hai rubbed his nose, looked around the house, and said with satisfaction, "Although it's a bit old, it's quite big and comfortable to live in. My brother has great taste."
Song Yanzhi chuckled, "Come in and sit down, have lunch before you leave."
She was busy tidying up the house. Although everything had been moved in, she still needed to buy all sorts of cooking utensils.
We only started cooking at home today.
"Then forget it. My brother found me an apprenticeship, and I have to go there this afternoon. You guys can eat."
Pei Hai was a little embarrassed because he remembered that Song Yanzhi didn't like him very much.
Although most people in the residential compound disliked him, thinking he was lazy, unambitious, and just drifting through life.
So he felt that his sister-in-law's invitation to stay for dinner was just a polite gesture, and he shouldn't take it seriously.
"It's still early this afternoon, come in and sit for a while." Song Yan did have some prejudice against this younger brother in her previous life.
But she never looked down on him because of that.
Especially when he was nice to Xiaobao, Song Yanzhi knew that this man was not a bad person at heart.
It's just that they simply don't want to put in the effort.
Pei Hai smiled sheepishly and went inside.
Xiao Bao is standing and watching TV. Since moving here, he has developed an extreme fondness for television, because his previous home didn't have one.
Right now, she's holding a small bowl in her hands, her eyes glued to the cartoon.
It seems like I've never seen anything so novel before.
In the past, children would run to the homes in the residential compound where there was a TV and gather around to watch it.
Xiao Bao also wanted to go, but no one liked him, so he would just peek at him from afar.
I don't understand it, but I find it very interesting.
I never imagined that one day my family would buy a TV.
Xiao Bao is completely obsessed with it.
Seeing that he could barely hold the bowl in his hand, Song Yanzhi found it somewhat amusing: "Alright, Xiaobao, go sit on the sofa and watch. It's not good for your eyes if you're too close."
Xiao Bao hummed in agreement and walked toward the sofa, but his eyes remained fixed on the television.
I almost bumped into Pei Hai.
"You little rascal, you've gotten so much heavier, your uncle can't even carry you anymore."
Pei Hai lifted him up in one go.
Xiao Bao then tilted his head to look at him: "Uncle."
"You still remember me, kid? That's really touching." Pei Hai laughed and ruffled his hair into a mess.
Xiao Bao quickly raised his hand to protect his hair, looking warily behind him. He breathed a sigh of relief when he didn't see the bad grandma.
Pei Hai was both annoyed and amused.
He reached into his pocket, pulled out a crumpled fifty-cent coin, handed it to him, and said generously, "Take this and buy some candy."
Xiao Bao glanced at his mother first, and seeing that she didn't object, he reached out to take it, and politely thanked her, saying, "Thank you, Uncle."
Pei Hai was delighted. His little treasure was becoming more and more sensible and adorable!
Unlike the two at home, which are an eyesore no matter how you look at them.
Perhaps it was due to his xenophobic nature, but he always disliked those two children. However, they were still just kids, and he couldn't really target them. Especially since his mother treated that boy better than him, Pei Hai really couldn't stand it.
After his brother returned, he introduced him to a carpentry apprenticeship.
He doesn't really like going back anymore.
Although Xiao Bao used to be a bit slow, Pei Hai still found him adorable.
Perhaps it was because he was the son of that cold-blooded older brother that gave him a sense of contrast.
