Chapter 10 Hidden Goldfinger

In the afternoon, sunlight filtered through the windows of the law firm, casting dappled shadows on the ground.

Li Muchen sat across from Lawyer Ling Yifeng with a serious expression and said solemnly, "Lawyer Ling, I would like to entrust you to register trademarks and some patents for me around the world. In addition, I also want to register dozens of offshore companies in Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands."

Ling Yifeng's eyes widened when he heard this, his heart filled with surprise: This is an unprecedented large order! He tried to calm his inner waves and said, "Mr. Li, this is not a small project."

Li Muchen nodded slightly and replied calmly: "I am well aware of the complexity involved, so I came to find a professional lawyer like you."

Afterwards, Li Muchen paid a generous deposit and promised with a firm look in his eyes: "Lawyer Ling, every time I complete a case, I will transfer the money to the law firm's account on time."

Ling Yifeng felt Li Muchen's determination and trust, and responded with a smile: "Don't worry, Mr. Li, we will do our best."

Then they carefully signed the contract.

The next day, Li Muchen, under the guidance of a guide, carefully made his way through the winding, deep alleys, heading towards the mysterious black market to exchange currency. A burly bodyguard followed closely beside him, his eyes scanning the surroundings warily.

They arrived at a remote, dimly lit corner, the surroundings a messy and unnerving place. The dilapidated walls were covered in graffiti, and the narrow passage was filled with a strong smell of dampness and mold.

Walking into an extremely secret little shop, the lights inside were dim and the furnishings were sparse. Li Muchen lowered his voice and said to the boss in a hurry, "Boss, I urgently need to exchange 1 million RMB into US dollars. Can you help me?"

The boss's eyes were filled with caution. He quickly glanced around and replied in a low, slightly cautious voice, "Of course, I will. But please understand that the current exchange rate is 1 to 4. For your 1 million RMB, I can only exchange it for 250,000 US dollars."

Li Muchen's forehead was covered with beads of sweat. He nodded nervously and said, "Okay, okay. Please hurry up and do it."

The boss said no more, and quickly and skillfully took out the account book and calculator from the drawer, and started calculating.

Then, he opened a hidden safe, took out stacks of US dollars and began to count them. The bodyguard stood at the door, keeping an eye on the movements outside. Li Muchen stared at his boss's movements without blinking, his heart in his throat.

The boss finally counted the US dollars, put them in a black box and handed it to Li Muchen.

Li Muchen took the box, his hands trembling slightly unconsciously. He opened the box with wide eyes and counted carefully. After confirming that everything was correct, he carefully closed the box, put it in his bag, and hurriedly left the shop with the guide and bodyguard.

Hong Kong is permeated with prosperity and vitality. The streets are bustling with people, cars and people rushing about. Li Muchen, led by a guide, arrived at HSBC, a prestigious bank in Hong Kong.

The bank's building is magnificent and imposing, with a marble exterior that is solemn and elegant, reflecting dazzling light under the bright sunshine.

Entering the spacious and bright hall, the floor is paved with mirror-like marble tiles, clearly reflecting people's figures. From the ceiling hangs a gorgeous and dazzling crystal chandelier, with countless crystals reflecting dreamy light.

Exquisite works of art are hung on the surrounding walls, depicting the prosperity of Hong Kong or showcasing exotic customs, creating an elegant and solemn atmosphere for the entire hall.

Li Muchen walked to the counter, and a staff member in a neat uniform and with a friendly smile asked enthusiastically, "Hello, sir, how can I help you?"

Li Muchen politely replied, "Hello, I would like to deposit some US dollars. In addition, could you please help me open a stock account and a futures account?"

The staff member smiled and nodded and said, "Okay, please wait a moment, I will handle the relevant procedures for you right away."

Li Muchen gently placed the black box containing US dollars on the counter, with a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

While waiting, he couldn't help but look around and saw that some other customers were concentrating on communicating with the staff and handling their business; others were chatting quietly in the comfortable lounge area with relaxed expressions on their faces.

From time to time, the crisp sound of staff typing on keyboards and the low voices of people talking in the bank intertwined into a unique melody.

After a while, the staff member said, "Sir, the US dollar deposit procedures have been completed for you. Opening the stock account and futures account will take some time and require relevant information. Please fill out these forms first."

Li Muchen picked up the pen and filled it out carefully.

Soon, all the formalities were completed. That same day, Li Muchen transferred the US dollars into his futures account without hesitation.

After leaving $50,000 as a margin, he decisively invested all the remaining funds in WTI oil futures and was firmly bullish.

On that day, the buying price of WTI was $15. Li Muchen quickly calculated in his mind: "The margin for one contract is 15 x 1000 รท 20 = $750. So $200,000 can buy about 266 contracts of WTI oil futures."

After making the operation, Li Muchen was in a good mood. When night fell, he came to a bustling bar in Hong Kong.

The lights in the bar were dim and the music was dynamic. As soon as Li Muchen walked in, his eyes were attracted by a figure in the corner.
