Chapter 128 Second Trip to Haishi

Chen Xihua arrived in Haishi at 1:30 pm the next day. Because of the tight schedule, she didn't go to the Lihua store, but got off the train directly at Haishi South Railway Station.

After waiting for half an hour at the train station entrance, I met up with my older sister, Chen Chunhua.

The two sisters took a taxi directly to Haishi New District and checked into an ordinary hotel near the stock exchange.

Four years later, the two of them returned to Haishi. The city has developed rapidly; while the changes weren't exactly earth-shattering, they were definitely noticeably different.

The hotel they stayed at had a view of the newly completed, over 400-meter-tall skyscraper right across the street.

"Xiao Wu, three million, are you planning to use it all for stock speculation?" After settling into the guest room, Chen Chunhua frowned, her face full of worry.

Although most of the money came from Xiao Wu's own pocket, with only 10% coming from the five siblings, she was still worried that Xiao Wu might lose money or get trapped in the stock market.

"Yes, big sister, you trust me!" Chen Xihua nodded slightly, her eyes serious, and said affirmatively.

After all, her older sister wasn't like herself and wouldn't worry like this, so she could understand.

"Okay." Chen Chunhua agreed on the surface, but she was still uneasy inside. She didn't know if it was a bit hasty for her to agree to be the company's accountant in the future.

Xiao Wu mentioned being hasty.

Chen Chunhua always felt that she would have to live in fear from time to time.

Although she had calculated the company's turnover of tens of millions, or even hundreds of millions, Xiao Wu's spending speed was truly like flowing water; she didn't even blink an eye.

Forget it, out of sight, out of mind. Once Xiao Wu turns eighteen, I'll only manage the accounts of Fanghua Company. As for the other companies, let Xiao Wu manage them herself; let her spend the money however she wants, I won't see it.

That doesn't seem to work either. If I don't help her, Xiao Wu might really spend all the money.

At this moment, Chen Chunhua was unaware that a conflicted expression was occasionally showing on her face.

"Oh dear, big sister, you don't want to manage my money anymore? I know you're working hard, so I'll manage it myself from now on. But I'm sure I won't be able to handle it all. What if I get flustered, miscalculate the money, and squander it?"

Chen Xihua stood to the side, silently observing her older sister's changing expressions. Then she pretended to look pitiful and troubled, but in reality, she was overjoyed.

The older sister is probably thinking again about whether she should keep a closer eye on her spending.

However, she didn't dare to show too much emotion; if her older sister really didn't help her manage the accounts, she would go crazy.

As the company's accounts grow larger, no one else can match the meticulousness and trustworthiness of my eldest sister.

Of the Chen siblings, Chen Xihua is the one she trusts the most, and the one she doesn't worry about changing is her eldest sister, Chen Chunhua. Of course, it's said that people's hearts are unpredictable, and it's undeniable that they might change.

Even if her older sister changes in the future, or if she gets married and her husband is untrustworthy, Chen Xihua believes her older sister will handle it well and then leave the company voluntarily.

Most importantly, Chen Xihua herself is a science student and understands accounting. In fact, she had estimated the company's accounts, and the discrepancies were not significant.

But when you start a company, you can't just rely on estimates, especially when it comes to finances. Everything has to be clear and transparent, so the eldest sister is the most suitable candidate.

"Okay, Chen Xiaowu, I'm telling you, if you really decide, after I graduate, I'll become the company's accountant."

"From now on, if you want to use money, you'll have to listen to me. Even if you're a major shareholder or boss, you can't act recklessly, otherwise, I, I..."

Chen Chunhua glanced at Chen Xihua with a very serious expression and launched into a long speech. But when it came time to say something harsh at the end, she seemed to run out of things to say.

"Okay, listen!" Chen Xihua interrupted Chen Chunhua's next words with a voice that sounded like she was trying to please him, but was actually a little smirking.

Speaking of settling down, how far have things progressed between my eldest sister and that Comrade Shen?

"Big sister, are you and Comrade Shen dating?" Chen Xihua's eyes lit up instantly as she asked with great interest and gossip.

"Almost, Xiao Wu. Didn't you say you were sleepy? Let's go to sleep." Chen Chunhua was just thinking about finances when Xiao Wu suddenly changed the subject, catching her off guard.

Then, her face suddenly turned a little shy, and she quickly tried to end the conversation.

"What do you mean by 'almost'? Does it mean you're communicating with the intention of getting to know someone?" Chen Xihua frowned slightly. She wasn't very clear about what dating was like in this era.

Chen Xihua's previous understanding came from the period novels she had read, which described them as simple and honest, but also very direct.

Especially the male lead, if he's in the military, once he falls for the female lead, he'll quickly submit a marriage proposal or something. Is she wrong? Or is it because we're almost at the turn of the millennium and times have changed?

"Yes, that's right. He'll be transferred back to the Beijing army in a month or two. Then, we'll officially confirm our relationship."

After thinking for a moment, Chen Chunhua blushed slightly and gave a brief explanation.

She understood Xiao Wu's gossipy nature perfectly; if she didn't tell him, Xiao Wu could keep asking her questions all night.

After saying that, Chen Chunhua immediately turned off the guest room light, quickly lay down to sleep, and wouldn't let Chen Xihua ask any more questions.

...

The following day, May 17, at nine o'clock in the morning, Chen Xihua and Chen Chunhua arrived at the trading hall.

By this time, whether some had already sensed something was amiss or for other reasons, quite a few investors were waiting. Some of the numbers on the display screens above the hall remained relatively unchanged, while others fluctuated wildly.

Upon entering the hall, Chen Xihua walked ahead to the window. She looked left and right, but didn't see Zhang Hai among the row of windows.

Are you taking a break? Or are you no longer working here?

However, without further delay, Chen Xihua told her older sister to queue at a window with fewer people.

Twenty minutes later, Chen Chunhua had completed the trading account setup, but she didn't immediately decide which stock to buy. Judging from Xiao Wu's expression, it seemed she wanted to find Zhang Hai, the agent from four years ago.

"Hello, is Manager Zhang Hai here?" Chen Xihua hesitated for a moment before handing over the document book to the very young male manager at the window, but still greeted him.

"Manager Zhang? He hasn't been to work these past two days." The young manager looked at Chen Xihua and her sister with a strange expression, seemingly wanting to say something but then stopping himself, as if he had thought of something, before finally asking.

"Are you looking for Manager Zhang to handle some business? I can do that too, and besides, Manager Zhang probably won't be back at work anytime soon."

"Do you know what Manager Zhang wants?" Chen Xihua suddenly became very patient. At this moment, there was no one waiting in line behind them, and this manager seemed to know something about it.

"Miss Chen, were you aware of Manager Zhang's family situation before?" The young male manager was a little embarrassed, unsure of their relationship with Manager Zhang. If they weren't familiar with each other, it wouldn't be good for him to say anything.

"Then you'd better not say anything more." Chen Xihua immediately interrupted him, thinking for a moment, and decided it was better not to pry into other people's affairs.

She turned around and wanted to see which stock to buy.

"Young Miss Wu, Miss Chen? Long time no see."

Just then, Zhang Hai walked in, looking haggard with bloodshot eyes, as if he had aged ten years. However, he was dressed in a clean and tidy suit.
