Chapter Six
Jiangcun and Lincun are two completely adjacent villages.
The road at the entrance of Jiangcun Village directly divides Lincun Village in two.
One of them is the one-third of the village that is right next to Jiangcun.
However, this one-third figure is not calculated based on the area of their entire village.
It refers to the resident population.
To be honest, the people in the neighboring Lin Village, who make up one-third of the population, have really been extremely unlucky.
Lin Village has undergone two land acquisitions to date.
One of these was a four-lane, two-way road built several years ago that runs through one-third of Lin Village.
Unfortunately, less than one-tenth of the total population of Lin Village was affected by this round of taxation.
On the contrary, the large-scale expropriation two years ago almost completely connected Rong County and Lin Village.
However, this factory area, which is called the new district, still has nothing to do with the remaining third of the villagers in Lin Village.
As An Jianping and his companion rode their motorcycle through the village, they discovered that a third of the village had already undergone a dramatic transformation.
Looking at these houses, almost all of which have been replaced with new ones, and whose heights far exceed those of normal rural houses.
An Jianping couldn't help but ask, "Jianmin, have many families in Lin Village built houses yet?"
“Almost all the wealthy ones have built them,” An Jianmin replied, slowing the car down slightly.
Just then, he was also preparing to pass through the barriers that hadn't been completely removed yet.
As a resident of a neighboring village, although this new district has been under closed management since its construction began.
However, once the factory buildings, roads, and other infrastructure inside are completed and ready for use,
This fence seems more like it's preventing idlers from going over and loitering.
Having finally found the gap the villagers had mentioned, An Jianmin carefully drove his motorcycle in before continuing their previous conversation:
“Unlike our village, many people in their village know that once this factory is built, there will definitely be no shortage of people here. So they are all planning to do business with the factory workers here.”
"In other words, these factories are not yet in normal operation, and not many workers have moved in."
"Once all the factories here start operating, I estimate that every household in the nearest village will have to start renting out rooms."
An Jianping nodded in understanding.
He said that!
How could the people of Lin Village be so prescient?
It turns out they just got lucky!
Just then, An Jianping saw what the new district looked like.
Before him stretched a vast expanse of new factory buildings that seemed to stretch endlessly.
A wide road winds around the factory area, with most of the factory buildings either already built or still under construction.
Trucks occasionally whiz by.
The factory area is now dotted with the few people who can be seen working.
"This road is definitely newly built; it must have been widened on purpose!" An Jianmin said with some envy as the motorcycle sped up again.
The two walked along the newly paved road in the new district, carefully observing the surroundings as they went.
Most of the buildings in this new factory area have already been completed.
The remaining buildings still under construction are mostly office buildings, fences, green spaces, and supporting facilities.
In some of the factories, there were already quite a few people moving around inside.
Even if construction hasn't started on a full scale, it's estimated that some parts of the project have already begun.
There were quite a few vehicles coming and going.
However, they were almost all large and small trucks used for transporting factory equipment.
An Jianmin's motorcycle would almost always brush past those long trucks at regular intervals.
At the same time, the two of them gradually realized it.
Given the current bustling state of the new district, once it is truly put into use, transportation will indeed be somewhat lacking.
But thinking about the booming apparel industry over the past two years, the two seem to be able to gradually understand.
An Jianping and his companion walked around the new district but still couldn't figure out how many factories there were.
They never imagined that Lin Village, which was originally the largest village in the area, would become so shocking after being transformed into a factory area.
But the clearer they saw, the more they understood the news that An Songyu had heard.
After returning via Lin Village, the two brothers parked their motorcycle and An Jianmin finally spoke the words he had been preparing for the journey:
"Third Brother, I remember that your Songyu was able to get an internship at Xianquan. Did you ask a classmate from your night school days to help arrange it?"
An Jianping nodded; he vaguely knew what his younger brother wanted to say.
But he did not stop it.
An Jianmin licked his lips before speaking again: "If we ask him about their recent rooftop guests, wouldn't that... put him in a particularly difficult position?"
"Maintaining the confidentiality of guests' information is a fundamental quality that every employee entering the hotel must possess."
An Jianping recounted the requirements for his daughter during her new employee training when she first joined the hotel.
An Jianmin sighed hesitantly.
But he didn't place all his hopes on this.
So the two brothers discussed it with each other again before entering the courtyard together.
In the spacious courtyard, Jiang Shanshan was preparing vegetables to take home for An Jianping.
Although it is early spring in March, which is the time when food is scarce.
In this province of Ke Nan, it is said that there are only two seasons a year.
Even in early spring, there is no shortage of any kind of vegetables.
In particular, Jiangcun has developed agritourism in recent years, so it can be said that there are fresh vegetables all year round.
An Jianping didn't plan to go back inside; he simply said goodbye to the two men in the courtyard.
Jiang Shanshan pointed to the things she had just packed and quickly said:
"Third Brother, let Jianmin ride his bike to take you to the village entrance so you can catch a bus."
An Jianping did not refuse, but before leaving, he did not forget to say to the two of them:
"Xiaoyue's studies and life have been going very well lately."
"But she's taking the college entrance exam this year, so apart from her monthly break, she only doesn't have morning or evening self-study sessions on Saturdays and Sundays."
"Now that Xiaoyu is at home, I can also help her catch up on her studies."
"Thank you so much, Third Brothers! It's all thanks to your help that Xiaoyue is able to get into a good university!" Jiang Shanshan felt both grateful and relieved.
She had long been thinking about her eldest daughter, who had been living in her third brother's house since she moved to the city to attend high school.
I just hadn't found a suitable opportunity to ask earlier.
"Sister-in-law, what are you saying? The child's good academic performance is definitely due to her own ability and hard work." An Jianping looked at the couple seriously.
"We parents can only help her with some minor problems in life."
"Yes, yes, Third Brother is right. The child is good at studying because he is capable!" An Jianmin said with a smile, and quickly pushed An Jianping out the door.
His third brother always showed exceptional respect for the children when discussing their education.
Compared to him, they, as parents, all seem like stepparents.
But An Jianmin was still grateful to his third brother's family from the bottom of his heart.
If it weren't for them, their eldest daughter would have had to board at school for all three years of high school.
How can one fully dedicate oneself to studying before the college entrance examination?
When An Jianmin returned after dropping An Jianping off, he saw his wife seemingly waiting for him in the yard.
Jiang Shanshan clenched her hands secretly, wanting to ask her third brother the purpose of his visit several times.
But thinking about the good things her family had received from her third brother's family, she just couldn't bring herself to ask for it.
Or... maybe we should just not ask at all!
This will save her the trouble of deciding whether to lend the money or not!
That's exactly what happened; An Jianmin didn't know how to tell his wife about the demolition.
The two exchanged glances and decided for the time being not to ask or say anything.
