Chapter Thirty-Five: Opportunity

Chapter Thirty-Five: Opportunity

An Songyu didn't react at first.

A little while later, I vaguely remembered it.

It seemed that before she returned, she had vaguely heard her cousin mention some things:

"Do you mean you want to go to Nanshi University?"

“Anyone from Nan Province would think about this, okay!” An Songyue looked at her cousin with a mournful expression.

It is the best school in the entire southern province.

Those who don't want to apply to Nanshi University are probably not normal senior high school students in Nanshi Province.

An Songyu smiled awkwardly and decided not to continue the topic.

An Songyue herself, however, honestly confessed:

"I applied to Nanshi Normal University."

"Wow, that means you can become a teacher after graduation, that's great!" An Songyu was so enthusiastic that she almost clapped and praised him.

He suddenly realized something halfway through clapping.

It's as if her younger cousin's university wasn't like this in her past life!

Moreover, she had never been a teacher.

"Is that so?" An Songyue answered without much certainty.

Her parents chose her school and major.

According to her parents, studying to become a teacher offers a stable income and plenty of holidays.

It couldn't be better for a girl.

But she herself was somewhat unsure.

After all, the schools and majors she discussed with her family before applying to universities were different from what she is now.

An Songyue did not understand why her parents had changed like this.

However, she didn't particularly like the school and major that they had discussed.

Therefore, this change is not entirely unacceptable.

When the two sisters returned to the small building, they saw a few scattered guests chatting in the open space outside.

Although An Songyu's family built houses on all of their homestead land.

In rural areas, the designated homesteads are either located on one's own farmland.

Or it was deliberately left out.

In short, it's unlikely to be just the exact area.

The extra land is mostly given to families building houses as their own private plots.

Nowadays, no one from An Songyu's family comes to plant trees, so they simply leveled the ground and planted a circle of trees around the edge.

The remaining open space was compacted, and a few large fruit trees were planted scattered in the middle, along with some tables and chairs.

This has become a popular resting place for tourists.

Some tourists even bought mosquito coils to light themselves in order to have a better leisure experience.

An Songyu wasn't very familiar with these guests.

However, her more than 20 years of experience working in hotels honed her interpersonal skills.

If she wanted to, she could definitely leave a good impression on anyone she met for the first time.

She greeted the tourists along the way, and eventually became familiar with them.

The two sisters, exhausted from a long day, had no time or inclination for relaxation.

After tidying up and lying in bed, I was still planning for tomorrow when I slowly fell asleep.

The next morning, before dawn, the sound of roosters crowing could be heard.

An Songyu felt so uncomfortable that she didn't want to get out of bed, but she had to get up anyway.

An Jianmin said last night that the fruit delivered to the fruit shop was picked this morning.

Those picked by the guests last night, let alone how they'll look the next day.

That quantity alone wouldn't be enough for a fruit shop to consume in a single day!

After struggling to get up, the two sisters tidied themselves up and went to An Jianmin's house for breakfast.

After we finished eating, it was already getting light outside.

They each took a tricycle to the orchard.

However, their goals were completely different.

When the two sisters met again, it was already lunchtime.

The two of them didn't actually get much done all morning.

After all, one of them grew up in the city, while the other was still a student.

There are really only so many things we can do and know how to do.

Even after working so hard assisting each other, the two of them were so tired that they didn't even want to talk when they met.

And so, the two sisters worked for several days in a row before they finally got used to this level of work intensity.

An Songyu was finally able to spare a little time to go to the silkworm house again.

The silkworm rearing room is currently very busy.

An Songyu's arrival was not welcomed by his grandparents.

The two men, on the contrary, complained that she rarely had free time and didn't know how to rest properly.

Look at this weather, a pretty girl has gotten a shade darker in just a few days.

On the way back, An Songyu had some doubts.

Did she really come to Jiangcun just to live this kind of life?

However, the summer peak season, which was even more intense than usual, left An Songyu with no time to think.

Summer vacation is coming to an end.

The second season of silkworm cocoons for Anjia has been shipped out, and the third season of silkworm rearing is about to officially begin.

An Songyu would occasionally go to the silkworm room to look at those tiny sesame seeds, struggling countless times but unable to come up with a reason to stop everyone.

But never mind!

Anyway, these little creatures you raise will be included in the compensation during the demolition.

Even by then, we still don't know where to put them!

Besides these, An Songyu had other things to worry about.

In September, most of the fruits in Anjia Orchard were past their ripening season.

However, the star fruit, which was originally only a small amount ripened, became the last and most abundant fruit to ripen in the orchard.

In addition, the dragon fruit, which has a long ripening period, is still ripening.

The mango was reduced to just a tail.

However, the papayas that grow in the corners and edges of the garden ripen almost all year round.

There aren't many, but even after searching carefully every day, I still manage to find a basket or two.

But no one in An Songyu's family was willing to take on this task.

So after searching for a few days, I was able to pick two or three baskets.

Meanwhile, the bananas, which also grow in the same corners and edges, have entered their ripening season.

Bananas are different from papayas.

It basically occupies the slightly larger corners and edges of these remaining areas.

It is formed against the backdrop of other fruit trees in the orchard.

A few inconspicuous patches of banana groves.

Each of its harvests is a long, continuous string.

Hang it in your home, and it can be shared by many people in just a few days.

By this time, An Songyu's orchard's daily output was basically only enough to supply fruit shops.

Although the summer peak season has passed, the number of tourists at Jiangcun farmhouses has decreased to 80-90%.

After a summer of operation, Jiangcun has left a good impression on its regular customers.

Some elderly people who had originally lived in the village with the children for quite some time have fallen in love with life there.

But they no longer needed An Songyu's special greetings.

As a result, she had more time to worry about other things.

As An Songyu left the village committee office, she pondered the words the village chief had just spoken.

He said, "Although the agritainment businesses in Jiangcun have done well this year, they have also exposed many other problems."

"For example, the orchards, mulberry-fish ponds, flower fields, and so on in the village that are left unmanaged."

"During the summer holidays, when there is a surge in tourists, there are always some particularly curious visitors who go out to explore the wilderness."

Therefore, he planned to take advantage of this free time to gather the villagers together to discuss the matter.

Ultimately, the goal is to encourage everyone to continue taking on the contract.

It will be just like the land distribution back then.

The remaining orchards, mulberry-dike-fishponds, etc., were simply distributed to individual households.

Let each family manage it themselves!

We'll also listen to the opinions of each family in the village at that time.
