But it seems like Boss Nie has gone off track.
As soon as he entered the bedroom, he pressed the maid's bell in Kwong Tsai's room. He pressed the midnight snack button, preparing to have a midnight snack with his wife.
But after he took off his suit and shoes, and even brought out the slippers and pajamas he had prepared for his wife, he waited for a long time but his wife did not come into the room. Instead, he heard her and his nephews' voices coming from the small living room.
He flung open the door, and Kwong stood there: "Boss, I'll go prepare some late-night snacks right away."
Mr. Nie was extremely agitated: "If you run into Uncle Ming, tell him to send Jiajun and the others to sleep. Oh, and get some Coke too."
Kuang Zai left in response. Nie Zhao was exhausted. He had sat down on the sofa, but when he heard his wife's soft voice and "hmm," he sprang up like a spring. However, he didn't go out; he just stood at the door listening.
In the small living room, Nie Han was crying her eyes out as she yelled at her two younger brothers: "What do you mean by saying that a mainland boy's life doesn't count? If it weren't for Brother Song, I would have died in the Philippines long ago. If you keep talking like that, I'm going to beat you up."
"Okay, we'll save her, don't cry, Ahan," Chen Rou said.
She had just told Nie Han about Song Yuanchao being arrested. Nie Han got anxious and didn't bother to ask what happened. She was in a hurry to take out her own savings to pay the bail. However, Nie Jiayu and Nie Jiajun, though young, had a lot of problems. They had always disliked mainlanders, and when they heard that their sister was going to bail out a mainland guy, they were unhappy and started to mock them.
It wasn't entirely about the inheritance, but their mother had three children in four years. The children were all around the same age, not quite grown up, and they had different opinions, so they started arguing.
Nie Jiajun is almost 17 years old and is the eldest grandson. Although he hasn't started working at the company yet, he already has a strong sense of ownership.
He said, "It's a joke. A mainland guy earning a million-dollar annual salary, his job includes spending time in jail. I don't believe my uncle and grandfather would pay bail for him."
Nie Han said anxiously, "Xi Niang, I can pay for it myself. Anyway, I won't abandon Brother Song."
Nie Jiayu immediately retorted, "Sister, you have a problem. You seem to like that mainland guy."
Nie Jiajun raised his voice: "No way, sister, are you kidding me?"
His sister is not even twenty years old, and she likes a dark-skinned, rough-looking mainland guy. It's ridiculous. Nie Jiajun also has another thing to worry about: Nie Zhao promised that after yesterday, which was early morning, he would talk to him about Nie Yao. The child knows too little about this complicated world, and his focus is limited.
In the middle of the night, he shouldn't have bothered his uncle, but Nie Han's matter was just a pretext. He was anxious to ask Nie Yao, so he turned around and prepared to go find Nie Zhao, saying as he walked, "Are you kidding me, sister? I'm going to tell Uncle."
Nie Zhao had already unbuttoned his shirt. All he wanted to do now was have a late-night snack with his wife and chat. He planned to deal with his two nephews tomorrow, since he had a lot to do every day and time was money, so he didn't want to waste any time.
But seeing Nie Jiajun arrive aggressively, buttoning up his shirt, he was ready to argue with his nephew.
But with his wife around, things seem to become much easier to resolve.
So just as Nie Jiajun was about to enter the corridor, a hand appeared in front of him. He instinctively raised his hand to wave, but someone grabbed the hair behind his head, inserted a leg between his legs, and twisted the hand on his head. He was already against the wall.
"Your father's car accident was caused by Yu Zhengrong and Nie Yao's mother, Mei Lu. Did you know that?" Of course, it was Chen Rou. She pushed Nie Jiajun against the wall and asked.
Nie Jiajun shuddered and asked, "Isn't it Gui Tou Rong?"
Chen Rou asked again, "Then do you know that your grandfather and your uncle almost died outside today?"
Nie Jiajun had barely opened his mouth when Chen Rou immediately said, "Because you're still a child, the adults won't hold it against you. But Jiajun, it's three in the morning. Your uncle isn't feeling well, so don't disturb him. Go back to sleep!"
“Okay, sure,” Nie Jiajun said.
Just then, Chen Rou saw Kuang Zai pass by and asked, "Is the boss alright?"
Then look at the Nie siblings: "Go upstairs to sleep. I'll check on you in ten minutes... Let's get started!"
If she had a whistle around her neck, she'd probably blow it.
Nie Han was the most obedient, and even pulled Nie Jiajun's ear: "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and go upstairs."
Kwong couldn't find Uncle Ming, and he couldn't control the kids. Seeing that Chen Rou had chased them away, he finally felt relieved and went to prepare a late-night snack, saying, "Miss Chen, the boss is waiting for you."
Chen Rou nodded and said, "If there's any porridge, get him some. He's exhausted today."
How could Kwong not know? He's a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, a master of health preservation. The boss is now incredibly strong thanks to his tonics.
In fact, Chen Rou was still haunted by a subconscious feeling that Nie Zhao had suffered such a serious injury and was a patient. But it only takes about 100 days to recover from a broken bone, and Nie Zhao was still young, so his body had already almost fully recovered.
But seeing his wife walking down the corridor, Mr. Nie thought for a moment, loosened his tie, and lay down on the bed.
...
Chen Rou pushed open the door and came in. Seeing that the lights were off and Nie Zhao was already lying on the bed, she tiptoed out.
But she had only taken two steps back when she heard Nie Zhao let out a strained groan.
She rushed to the bedside and turned on the lamp. She reached out and touched his forehead, asking softly, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Then he asked, "Should I call the doctor to give it to you?"
Nie Zhao was lying on his back when he put his arm over his wife and told her to lie down too. He leaned against her and said, "I'm fine."
So he just wanted to pull her to lie down, is that just being childish again?
The key point is that Chen Rou didn't see through this clumsy little trick of picking up girls, because countless people who wanted to pursue her had been driven away by her before they even had a chance to use such a trick.
