It was Yue Zhongqi, sitting in a corner with a few photos in his hand, looking dejected.
Chen Rou then walked over and asked, "Captain Yue, what's wrong? Is it still because of Little Chili?"
Yue Zhongqi removed the photo, shook his head, and sighed, "You know, with my luck, even if I had the chance, I wouldn't have been able to do it!"
Chen Rou wasn't at the scene of the arrest and didn't know what had happened. She asked again, "Did something terrible happen?"
Seeing that his temple was bandaged, and there was gauze on his arm, and one of his shoes was a slipper, I asked again, "Are you unhappy because you're injured?"
Yue Zhongqi was extremely upset, but he waved his hand and said, "It has nothing to do with that. I'll only be upset for a little while, and then I'll be fine."
Then, remembering something else, she added, "Your special soup is probably cold by now, go and drink it."
Chen Rou caught a glimpse of the photo out of the corner of her eye and saw that it looked like a scene of an arrest, so she reached out to take it: "Quick, let me see it."
It's normal for her to want to see the photos, but Yue Zhongqi jumped up like a dog whose tail had been stepped on: "No, no, no, you can't."
He got up and ran, saying, "Mrs. Nie, you should go back now. See you next time, goodbye!"
Chen Rou knew something was wrong as soon as she saw him, and the problem should be in the photo. Of course, she thought the matter was more serious, suspecting that someone might have been seriously injured or killed at the scene of the arrest. And coincidentally, she didn't remember seeing Wang Baodao and Hu Yong last night, so she thought it might be them, which was why Yue Zhongqi was so sad.
They chased down to the deck but couldn't find Yue Zhongqi. However, Chen Rou happened to run into a man in green clothes who came out of a small cabin with a large stack of photos in his hand. She said, "Comrade, let me see your photos."
The woman in green turned around, paused, and repeated, "I want to see the photos."
It was Nie Yao. He used to be so conflicted and concerned about his assets that he complained about everything, just like Nie Zhao, with the look of a walking, resentful man. But now he has finally let go, and his whole life has become much clearer.
He laughed before speaking, and after laughing for a long time, he said, "If I show this to you, I'm afraid Captain Yue will punish me."
Chen Rou was very uncomfortable with Nie Yao's smile, and even felt a chill down her spine, but she raised her hand and said, "Give it to me, I have to see it."
No one was around at the moment. Nie Yao looked around, reopened the door to the small cabin, and waved, saying, "Come in and take a look."
His job was as a reporter accompanying the team, and he had an office, which was this one. It was also a small darkroom, with black paper wrapped around the light bulb. When the light was turned on, a small circle of dim yellow light shone through. On the table were a fountain pen, an ink bottle, and manuscript paper.
Hearing footsteps, he closed the door.
But Chen Rou didn't find anything unusual, because after looking through the photos, she finally understood why Yue Zhongqi was sad.
In the first fresh photo taken at the scene, Yue Zhongqi's thieving and bandit-like demeanor was even more pronounced than that of Gui Touchang. Not only was his appearance crude and ugly, but he was also showing half of his buttocks, and he was even wearing red underwear.
That's bad enough, right? Look at the second picture. Gui Tou Chang is tied up, and his pants are pulled down even lower. It's almost like Nie Yao is pressing the shutter, and his pants are falling down like they're running for their lives.
Finally, in the last picture, he pulled up his pants, but several others around him had their pants down. Of course, none of them had their underwear pulled out in a presentable way.
How could such a photo be published? Wouldn't that make us a laughing stock?
The last picture is of Chen Ke, which was actually a casual snapshot by Nie Yao, but it's a classic. The whole photo, from the people's positions and composition to the expressions on their faces, is absolutely amazing!
Chen Rou looked at the photo over and over again, finally looked up, smiled and said, "Let's submit this photo; it could win an award!"
In the cramped room, in a cheerful mood, Nie Yao looked down at Chen Rou, smelling the sweaty scent emanating from Chen Ke's bed. Recalling her past self, though unwilling to admit it, he had to acknowledge that the current Chen Rou was more beautiful and more worthy of admiration. He smiled and said, "I will send it to the Pulitzer Prizes."
The Pulitzer Prize is the most prestigious journalism award, and it's naturally very difficult to win.
But Chen Rou thought the photo was worth a try.
Moreover, while everyone else in the world was already using digital cameras, Nie Yao was still using a 32-exposure film, the old Seagull camera provided by the official company. With the most primitive camera, he took the best photos.
Regardless of who they are, heroes come from all walks of life; as long as they are outstanding, Chen Rou will appreciate them.
She thinks Nie Yao is pretty good now.
She assumed he was still longing to return to Hong Kong, so she said, "When I get back, I'll have a good talk with Ah-Chao. The ICPO's work is finished now. If you want to go back to Hong Kong, I can help you!"
Nie Yao was just worried about not having a chance to tell Chen Rou, so he shook his head slightly: "No, I have already written my citizenship application."
...
He continued, "What Gui Touchang will have to go through is a public trial by an international military tribunal. Pirates are not ordinary thieves; they are organized and disciplined terrorists. I am a third party, a witness, and also a participant. I will follow the whole case and push for him to be defined as a terrorist!"
Thieves only need to be punished by law, but terrorists not only have to be hanged, but Interpol also needs to station personnel in the areas where terrorists have been based and carry out long-term peacekeeping. Its significance is self-evident.
Chen Rou understood what was going on, but said, "You want to become a citizen? I'm afraid it won't be that easy, will it?"
Mei Lu is a Japanese citizen, and he wants to become a citizen, which Chen Rou believes will be very difficult.
