Mrs. Nie immediately stood up, gracefully extending her hand. Colonel Lango took her hand and gave it a deep kiss, smiling as he said, "Let's go, Miss Nie. Tell me what exhibits you like before the auction starts. Don't worry about the price; they will all belong to you."
Chen Rou smiled and said, "Then I won't be polite."
With another smile, she said, "It might be a bit difficult, but my wish hasn't changed. After returning, I still hope to move to Wales, so today I'm going to choose a new household item."
The last time she saw Colonel Rango, it seemed she had a fight with her husband and went there in a fit of pique.
Her husband then took her home again, and the two even went on a vacation to Tokyo. But Colonel Rango's experience showed that marital conflicts couldn't be resolved with just one vacation.
In the eyes of Bob and Sir James, he was a complete idiot who mistook a spy for a good guy.
However, in Colonel Rango's view, Sir James and Bob were also despicable for arbitrarily using nuclear waste as a means of harming people, and he wanted to have a proper talk with Chen Rou, so he didn't want Bob to shamelessly follow him around.
Before Chen Rou could say anything, just as she took his arm, Colonel Lango turned around and said to Bob in English, "You don't need to follow me. Go do what you like to do."
The two of them walked away hand in hand, leaving Bob standing there, silently cursing under his breath.
He desperately wanted to stop Colonel Rango from favoring the Nie family, but clearly, art imitates life, and Colonel Rango was just like the bumbling bosses often seen in James Bond movies, not only useless but also infatuated with female agents.
That means that in Hong Kong, he and Sir James have no choice but to fight a desperate battle to bring down the Nie family.
Putting aside his speechlessness and disappointment with Colonel Rango, on the other hand, today was the weekend, which was also Nie Zhao's time to spend with his son. This afternoon, he arranged for his son to watch a movie, and the two of them watched the movie in the basement.
The movie was actually released the year A-Yuan was born. It was called "The Lion King" and it had a high box office at the time. However, A-Yuan was too young to see it. His dad found it recently when he was looking through movie lists and wanted to find it for him to watch.
The Lion King is a classic in film history, and needless to say, A Yuan likes it.
Besides, because of the movie, his dad also prepared popcorn, fried chicken, and fries for him.
Even though Nie Rong doted on Nie Yao, he never took him to see a movie. His affection was just about playing with the child. But Nie Zhao was different. Whenever there was a good movie on the weekend, he would watch it with his son.
A-Yuan also likes it. The child can't sit still; sometimes he runs around, and sometimes he climbs on his father's body or head. But he understands how to read stories and can read them completely.
Today's "The Lion King" was especially good. From the very beginning, when he saw Simba being born and the old lion lifting him up, all the animals on the savanna were overjoyed, and the little guy was so happy.
Then, when the plot took a sudden turn, and Simba mistakenly trusted Scar and caused his father's death, Yuan was heartbroken. He climbed into his father's arms, crying and pulling his father's hand to cover his eyes.
However, he didn't want to be completely covered up, so he stretched out two of his father's fingers and peeked out secretly.
He saw Simba had a good friend, and even saw that his friend was eating maggots. The little guy was amused again, but while he was laughing, there were tears in his eyes.
That was indeed a good movie. A-Yuan watched it from beginning to end, so engrossed that he forgot to eat popcorn and fried chicken.
But it's also a movie that A Yuan found hard to forget after watching it.
Sure enough, the lights came on, the credits rolled, and the maid in charge of showing the movie opened the door. Song Yuanchao was standing at the door, holding three telephones. Clearly, Boss Nie's phone had been ringing off the hook for over an hour, and he needed to attend to his business. But A Yuan was reluctant to leave and refused to get up.
He lay in his father's arms, silently watching the subtitles, and whispered, "Will the little lion's father never come back?"
Nie Zhao patted his son gently: "He has become a star, watching over the little lion from the sky."
A-Yuan pouted and said in a soft voice, "No."
Nie Zhao stood up, holding his son, and comforted him, saying, "That's just a movie, a fairy tale. Besides, the little lion has grown up and become the new Lion King. He will protect himself and take good care of his baby."
A-Yuan seemed to understand but not quite, and repeated, "But Dad, Dad is gone."
Nie Zhao needs to have a good talk with his son, to teach him in an entertaining way. He has always received education from his mother, Han Yuzhu, and when he was five or six years old, Han Yuzhu would talk to him about game theory and the art of thick-skinned and black-hearted tactics.
Back then, under the guidance of a group of teachers, Nie Yao was learning to be a model student.
One should not have the intention to harm others, but one should not be without the intention to guard against others.
The wealthier people are, the more they see the good side of the world. This can lead to children becoming naturally less vigilant and developing the illusion that everyone is good. As a result, the children they raise are either good-for-nothings or spoiled brats.
Nie Zhao wouldn't raise his child that way. He would do his best to teach his son to see the truth of the world and the various aspects of human nature.
Let's talk again while we're swimming later. He needs to take five minutes to handle some official business.
He picked up his phone. Prioritizing, he knew his client had arrived in Shenzhen and was calling; he had to return the call.
Ah Yuan rode his little tricycle out of the theater and rode around in the basement corridor. Suddenly, he passed the door of the wine cellar and saw light coming out, so he tiptoed to take a look.
Seeing someone inside, he assumed it was one of his older brothers, so he bumped the door with his bicycle wheel.
