He also forgot that his wife was still getting stitches and actually needed his company more.
He asked the midwife, "Why isn't she crying? Is there something wrong with her?"
The midwife also found it strange, but she thought Nie Zhao was the strangest.
She explained, "Sir, she has already cried, and there is no problem with her lung capacity."
But Nie Zhao still felt something was wrong. He couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong, he just felt something was off.
But no worries, as soon as he came out carrying the baby, the hospital's president and the head of the obstetrics and gynecology department were right at the door.
Nie Zhao clearly remembers the first time he held A Yuan. Not only was he heavy, but when A Yuan kicked out, he almost dropped the baby and fell to the ground. So he was very careful with babies.
But this little baby is completely different.
Her eyes were very similar to A Yuan's, but they were closed, and she was sleeping peacefully without crying. Moreover, she was so light, as light as a goose feather. The question is, why didn't she cry, and why was she so light?
If he felt there was a problem, he had to take him back to the ward so that the head of the hospital could examine him again.
Li Xia was also worried that something might be wrong, so she pulled A Yuan to the ward. However, halfway there, A Yuan broke free from Li Xia and returned to the door of the operating room. He didn't know why his mother hadn't come out yet, and he wanted to wait for her.
When Chen Rou came out of the operating room this time, she only saw two people: Chen Ke and A Yuan.
Chen Ke held A Yuan in his arms and stood on the door of the operating room.
Chen Rou was quite surprised that her father hadn't arrived before she went in, so she asked, "When did you get here?"
Chen Ke said, "I've been here for a while."
Then he asked, "Are you alright? Does it hurt?"
A-Yuan pouted and whispered, "Mommy, your tummy isn't bulging anymore."
Because her daughter's cries were too faint, Chen Rou was worried that something might have happened to her, so she asked Chen Ke again, "How is your sister? Is she alright?"
Chen Ke answered truthfully, "I didn't see it, and I don't know."
As a father, he only worries about his daughter; whether the child has any problems is secondary.
If anything happens to Chen Rou, Nie Zhao might not even notice, but Chen Ke will.
Of course, it's not that Nie Zhao doesn't care about his wife. Rather, as Chen Rou, the original owner of this body, said, every child and every soul is unique. A person who is truly ready to be a father, no matter how many children he has, will still be a novice when welcoming a new life, and will still feel flustered and helpless.
The head of the hospital inspected it again, and this time Nie Zhao watched it with his own eyes.
For him, this was yet another completely new shock, because this little one was much smaller than A Yuan was back then, as light as a goose feather, and unlike A Yuan's jade-white skin, hers was a pinkish-white.
Her tiny feet were only the size of Nie Zhao's thumb, and her little hands were also tiny, but they were surprisingly strong when they gripped.
What's most peculiar is her crying; unlike A Yuan's, which is like thunder and lightning, enough to shatter one's eardrums.
Her cries were soft, whimpering sounds, very faint.
The head of obstetrics and gynecology immediately enlightened him: "Chairman Nie, she's a girl, not a boy."
So the little one is definitely okay, and the crying was just quieter because he's a girl?
Even though he already has a son, Nie Zhao is still a new father. He picked up his daughter, but then remembered that his wife was still in the operating room. He turned around and ran out again, wanting to check on her to see if she was alright after the surgery and if she could come out safely.
Of course, everyone, whether it was the production team, those present, the staff of the hospital, or the maids at home, received a red envelope.
Reason finally prevailed. Seeing his wife emerge from the operating room, he said to Secretary An, "Prepare red envelopes; everyone should receive one."
All of Nie Zhao's worries before his daughter's birth vanished in an instant.
He had even been worried that his wife might not pay enough attention to their daughter, just like she did to A-Yuan.
But he soon realized that he should be worried about something else.
That is, his wife, like him, was also full of curiosity about the little sister who, although only a tiny bit big, had fair skin and was quiet and well-behaved. Then, they would unconsciously forget about A Yuan.
She gazed at the baby's eyelashes, her voice trembling, "Such curled eyelashes."
Although A-Yuan's eyelashes are long, they are sharp and pointed, while his sister's are curled.
Similarly, A-Yuan has thin-skinned, double-lidded eyes, while his younger sister has deeper-set eyes, like a porcelain doll.
With her fair, almost translucent skin, she looked like a little angel.
Chen Rou gently touched the baby's fingers again and said, "Strange, her skin is actually transparent."
The hair powder was transparent, and the upturned nose tip, in particular, looked as if light could pass right through it.
A beautiful little baby, very pretty, but completely different from A Yuan.
She captured the full attention of Nie Zhao and his wife; when they looked at their youngest daughter, even time seemed to slow down.
It wasn't until A-Yuan asked, "Mom, why is my little sister always sleeping?"
Nie Zhao was startled to realize that he hadn't paid attention to his son for quite some time, and neither had Chen Rou; she had completely forgotten about him.
So, they were both surprised to find that this newborn baby had, without them even realizing it, stolen all their attention, and the gaze that they had once focused solely on A Yuan.
Fortunately, Nie Zhao was naturally thoughtful and good at reflecting, so he immediately discovered the problem.
