Liang Lisheng was about to leave when he took off his thrush cage. Just then, Nie Zhao said softly, "Uncle Liang, get used to my work style from now on. I will help you and ensure the long-term success of the Nie family business."
“Continue down the road in Hong Kong? How long? Ah Zhao, there are only eight years left until the handover. Eight years! After that, the flag of Hong Kong will be replaced with the five-star flag. Who knows how the new government will play its part? Why don’t you start planning now? Humph…” Liang Lisheng stopped mid-sentence, lit another cigar, took a deep drag with smoke billowing from his two big nostrils, and looked worried.
With only eight years left until our return, if we don't plan ahead, we'll be at their mercy when we return. What will we do then?
...
Nie Zhao only said, "Be careful on the way back, drive slowly."
"Don't worry, I'm a grandfather now, of course I have to drive slowly. Getting home safely is the most important thing." Liang Lisheng said this, but once he got out the door and into the car, he floored the accelerator, the wheels barely leaving the ground, and the car was faster than lightning!
Nie Zhao turned around and saw four burly men in suits standing outside the glass room, each carrying a pole, chatting in a circle. He strode out and asked, "Song Zai, where's Arou?"
Before he finished speaking, Sam and Song Yuanchao turned around at the same time. Well, Chen Rou was right behind them.
She had medium-length hair tied in a high ponytail and was wearing goggles and a bulletproof vest. She was talking to Hank and looked up when she heard his voice, but didn't say anything. She just extended her middle finger and adjusted her goggles.
To be precise, he didn't see her because she was surrounded by four men.
In less than half a day, she had already become familiar with the three foreign bodyguards. She patted Hank on the shoulder, tossed him the gun in her hand, and asked, "Is the boss here?"
How did he suddenly become the boss?
Nie Zhao asked considerately, "Want some late-night snack? Would you like to eat at home or go out?"
Chen Rou then asked the foreign bodyguards in English if they wanted to eat something else. Hank and Ram declined, but Sam suggested they drink some beer, though Song Yuanchao rejected the suggestion.
He didn't understand much English, but he knew the word "beer." He crossed his hands and said, "No beer, no wine."
Turning back to Nie Zhao, he said, "Boss, to stay alert and maintain our focus, we won't eat late-night snacks or drink alcohol."
Nie Zhao knew that Song Yuanchao had contributed half the effort to his return from the Philippines.
He had also seen Chen Rou in her police uniform during his out-of-body experience and wondered if she had ever been a police officer. However, he still felt very uncomfortable because when Song Yuanchao spoke in his broken English, his wife looked at him as if he were a hero charging into battle or a gambling god who had just won hundreds of millions at the gambling table.
He said, "Then let's go home."
Chen Rou patted Song Yuanchao: "You sit in the car with the boss, I'll chat with the others a bit more."
She quite liked these American soldiers and wanted to learn more about their combat and weaponry experience. She wanted to talk to them more so that they could cooperate better on missions.
The fake bodyguard captain was Song Yuanchao, and the real bodyguard captain was Chen Rou. After she finished speaking, she left, got into the nanny car with several foreign bodyguards, and drove away, leaving Nie Zhao and Song Yuanchao alone.
Nie Zhao certainly didn't come alone; he had a driver to help him drive. The driver, like Uncle Ming, was also surnamed Xu and had been the family's driver for many years. Seeing that his boss was about to leave, the driver immediately opened the car door.
Song Yuanchao said enthusiastically, "Let's go, boss, I'll accompany you home."
Nie Zhao got into the car and said, "Speak English."
Song Yuanchao said "Oh," but after struggling to speak for a while, he couldn't get the words out, so he asked in Cantonese, "Do you still need to arrange for someone to stand guard outside your bedroom door tonight?"
He lives in an apartment at the company, and someone needs to be on duty at the entrance, but of course, he doesn't need to be at home.
Nie Zhao said, "No need. Don't think too much tonight and get some sleep. There's something important to do tomorrow, so you need to be energetic."
Sitting in the passenger seat, Song Yuanchao thought to himself that this Boss Nie was not only righteous but also considerate, a really good person. Then he heard Nie Zhao ask again, "Song, what were you talking about with Arou just now? You two seemed to be having a good time."
What Song Yuanchao was talking to Chen Rou about was actually professional stuff. He went around in circles and told Chen Rou about the skills of some of his comrades who were really good at shooting, mainly praising her skills, which were indeed amazing.
Because it involved his comrades and the driver was also present, he couldn't say anything, so he just said, "It's nothing, just chatting."
No sooner had he finished speaking than the boss in the back suddenly let out a sigh, and the temperature inside the car instantly dropped.
He wondered if the boss had turned on the air conditioning in the back.
The shooting range wasn't far from home. As we were talking, the car pulled up and parked in the basement.
Song Yuanchao was aware that one of the bodyguards' tasks was to open the car door for the boss, but as soon as he opened the car door, he saw Nie Zhao not only open the car door but also get out of the car and, like lightning, slip into the closing elevator.
Song Yuanchao couldn't help but exclaim, "The boss has recovered well; his steps are brisk."
The driver said, "Third Master must be in a hurry. I've never seen him drive this fast before."
The bodyguards' dormitories were underground, so they didn't go upstairs. Chen Rou was the only one in the elevator. When Nie Zhao squeezed in, she moved aside and pressed the button for the second floor for him.
Nie Zhao moved closer to her, and she glanced at him, then moved even further to the side. At the same time, she crossed her arms and stretched her neck in a domineering manner. After training for most of the day, her bones cracked as she stretched her neck.
The elevator interior was mirrored, and the lady's domineering aura almost overflowed from the mirror. Nie Zhao stood beside her with his hands in his pockets, about to ask something, when a ding sounded, indicating that the second floor had been reached, and the elevator doors opened.
