By the time the British lieutenant colonels realized what was happening, the troops were already in combat stance, baring their claws.
They even forgot the main purpose of their meeting today: to retrieve the drawing.
Colonel Rango slammed his fist on the table: "Come back! All of you, come back here!"
After all, he was a military commander, much older than Battalion Commander Zhao. He realized that the other party was even more insidious than he had imagined. The last fight was not impulsive, but rather a pretext to cause trouble when he finally found an opportunity.
As for the handover of the military camp, he naturally didn't leave behind anything confidential or of high value. Furthermore, he did it on purpose; he controlled the entire process, intending to withdraw on the last day and not hand over the territory prematurely.
That Battalion Commander Zhao is really cunning. He deliberately used a small matter to start a fire, and once he called his men, he began to put on a grand show.
Of course, he wanted to get things back on track. He slammed his fist on the table and yelled twice for everyone to sit down. Once all the lieutenant colonels were seated, he continued, "We only had a minor disagreement, and what you took from my office is a military secret. As members of the British Royal Family, in order to protect military secrets, we are willing to..."
I'm willing to apologize, as long as the picture comes back and the matter isn't publicized.
Of course, if this were to be publicized, it would not benefit the mainland military, as it would affect the return of the military.
But before Colonel Lango could finish speaking, he was interrupted again by the rude and impolite Battalion Commander Zhao.
This time, he kicked the chair with one foot, and with a few loud thuds, the chair swayed backward and flew away. He then stood up.
Was he finally going to unleash his rudeness and start a fight? Lieutenant Colonel Wali turned to look at the video camera and signaled the cameraman to shoot a close-up of Battalion Commander Zhao, capturing the moment he erupted.
He did indeed erupt, but it was only a verbal outburst.
He slammed his fist on the table: "With the return imminent, from the moment the handover is completed, this land will be our territory, the sky will be our airspace, and the sea will also become our sea. But what if we enter a state of war at that time?"
His four platoon leaders stood up in unison, staring fiercely at the opposite side, just like him.
Battalion Commander Zhao slammed his fist on the table again: "To ensure the safety of this land, we need to complete all the handover before the return."
He finally turned to look at the witness stand, then paused for a moment, but immediately turned back and clasped his hands together: "Only seven months left."
He's a master of arguing, and the kind that's incredibly charismatic; even the village aunties probably couldn't out-argue him.
But he was handsome and dashing, a perfectly upright young man.
He swung his arm and slammed his hand on the table, saying, "As of now, the mission has made zero progress."
Colonel Rango wanted to avoid the problem, so he looked to Lieutenant Colonel Wali.
Lieutenant Colonel Vali bowed his head on behalf of his boss: "We can apologize, but we need you to return what you took, that is..."
But as soon as he finished speaking, he was interrupted by Battalion Commander Zhao, who turned back to look at the witness stand: "Look, that's how it is."
He added, "For five months, we've been getting bogged down in trivial matters."
That picture may seem like a small matter, but it can also be a big deal.
Lieutenant Colonel Wali said, "That's our... military secret."
The argument was about who could speak faster and be more reasonable. Battalion Commander Zhao interrupted him: "That's just a very small matter."
Getting back to the topic, he used the tiger skin as a banner, pointing to the British side: "Several locals from Hong Kong have come today. Since they are here, let's ask them for their opinions. Isn't the handover of the military camp urgent?"
Yue Zhongqi raised his hand and said, "Yes!"
The Chief Justice frowned, Sir Ding also looked sullen, and Chen Rou nodded with a smile.
Seeing that Battalion Commander Zhao was silent, Lieutenant Colonel Wali tried to open his mouth, but just as he was about to say the words "military secrets," he immediately slammed his hand on the table: "The handover of the barracks is imminent."
Lieutenant Colonel Wali held back, and then, just as Battalion Commander Zhao glanced at him and was about to speak again, he immediately said, "Nothing else is up for discussion."
In other words, they came to ask for something and to settle things, but the mainland side is not taking the bait. What can they do?
They exchanged a glance, and Lieutenant Colonel Wali stood up: "We request a 10-minute break."
They can't just keep arguing like this; they need to go back to their little dark room and discuss a solution.
Unlike when he arrived confident, Colonel Lango had to be helped away by his men when he left, looking rather disheveled.
The Chief Justice, naturally biased towards the British army, was also taken to the dark room.
Seeing that things were not going well, Sir Dante naturally did not go in and asked Chen Rou, "Do you need to use the restroom?"
Chen Rou smiled and said, "Yes, let's go together."
As they walked, they couldn't help but gossip a bit. Sir Ding said, "That young man is very capable."
He was older, so a guard escorted him into the restroom. Chen Rou didn't actually need to use the restroom; she just washed her hands.
She heard a series of hurried footsteps, turned around, and there stood a young man in front of her.
It was Battalion Commander Zhao, but as soon as she looked at him, the young man who had been so arrogant and domineering just moments before was now blushing.
Seeing that she had turned around, he stood up straight. Chen Rou reached out her hand: "Chen Rou, you can also call me Miss Chen."
She is no longer the person she once was, and the man in front of her is her senior, but now he is just a stranger.
Battalion Commander Zhao was so engrossed in the argument that he only noticed his idol was there when he glanced at the scene.
They had rehearsed this fight many times beforehand, and were prepared for how they would argue.
Seeing his idol go to the restroom, he followed him, intending to say hello—basic courtesy, after all.
But how should I introduce myself?
Also, his clothes don't look bright, his hair is messy, and his face is dirty.
