Chapter 503 The Dark World

Xiao Cheng left without saying anything.

Before Xiao Wei's mother died, she instilled a lot of bad impressions of Xiao Cheng in Xiao Wei. But once when Xiao Wei was being bullied by other children, Xiao Cheng happened to pass by. He didn't say or do anything, but just glanced at him casually.

The children who were bullying Xiao Wei all ran away in fear.

Therefore, Xiao Wei's impression of Xiao Cheng was not the bad image successfully instilled in him by Xiao Wei's mother.

On the contrary, he greatly admired Xiao Cheng, his elder brother.

They also knew that Xiao Cheng's silence meant tacit agreement; not kicking him out meant he agreed to take him in.

Xiao Wei happily ran off to tidy up his new room.

This is what Xiao Cheng saw when he went back to get something. He didn't say anything, went back to his room, grabbed his gun, and left.

Just like before, he doesn't go home every few days.

This time it will be three days later.

Xiao Cheng, Luo Shiliu, Xiao Zhongbiao, Xiao Dazhuang, and Wang Hao went for a late-night snack after collecting debts in the East Market.

When the youngest son of the late-night food stall owner served them food, Xiao Cheng suddenly remembered that there was a Xiao Wei in his family.

When he got home, Xiao Wei was already asleep.

He's still alive.

When Xiao Cheng looked out the window at Xiao Wei sleeping in the room, those three words were on his mind.

But I breathed a sigh of relief.

Then I went to the kitchen, opened the rice container, and found that there was still enough rice for one person's meal.

The noodles in the cupboard are gone.

The three eggs are gone too.

When Xiao Cheng left, there was only enough noodles and rice left at home for two days, but now three days have passed and there is still rice left.

The child eats less.

Xiao Cheng thought so.

But early the next morning, he went to the street to buy rice and filled the rice container, and replenished the cupboard with noodles.

Oil, salt, and seasonings have all been replenished.

Then I bought a hoe suitable for children and a big bag of all sorts of vegetable seeds.

When Xiao Cheng returned home, Xiao Wei had already gotten up, washed up, and was standing in front of the rice jar, staring blankly at the rice bag that still had one-tenth of the rice left.

Bai Lu guessed that he probably knew Xiao Cheng was back, and also thought that Xiao Cheng had left after finishing the rice.

So when Xiao Cheng appeared at the door with a hoe and shovel, and his footsteps approached, the little guy suddenly turned around, saw Xiao Cheng, and was startled.

Her whole body was tense and stiff, her little face was nervous and uneasy, but her eyes were happy and excited.

Xiao Cheng ignored him.

He grabbed a hoe and shovel and went to the backyard. After taking a few steps and realizing there were no footsteps following him, he turned around impatiently and spoke in a cold voice—

"Go to the backyard."

Xiao Wei finally realized that his older brother was talking to him, and immediately ran after him to the backyard.

As a result, Xiao Cheng threw the hoe and shovel into the overgrown field and told him, "Grow your own vegetables."

Xiao Wei was shocked at the time. When he saw Xiao Cheng casually release a paper funnel filled with things and put it on the ground, saying, "Vegetable seeds," he was even more shocked, his eyes showing surprise and bewilderment.

But soon.

The little guy timidly said, "I don't know how to grow vegetables."

After saying that, he immediately explained, "I have a mother... and I have enough pocket money to buy groceries, so you don't need to spend money on groceries, thank you for buying rice and noodles."

Knowing that Xiao Cheng and his mother had a bad relationship, Xiao Wei promptly changed his mind about his mother giving him pocket money.

But Xiao Cheng had already heard it, and without saying anything, he turned and left.

Xiao Wei thought he had said something wrong and angered Xiao Cheng, so he immediately chased after him.

Unfortunately, Xiao Cheng was tall and had long legs, so he walked fast and disappeared around the corner.

Xiao Wei was very sad.

He thought Xiao Cheng was angry with him and left.

With red eyes, she stood at the door waiting, and after waiting, Xiao Dazhuang's mother arrived.

Xiao Dazhuang's mother came to teach Xiao Wei how to grow vegetables. Upon hearing this, Xiao Wei immediately stopped being sad and studied very hard. That very day, he weeded half of the vegetable garden.

When Xiao Dazhuang's mother told him the news, Xiao Dazhuang replied to Xiao Cheng.

It turned out to be: "My mom has already taught Xiao Wei how to plant vegetables. Xiao Wei is very well-behaved and capable. He learned it in one go and he can weed very quickly. He can plant vegetables tomorrow, and your family will soon have fresh vegetables to eat."

Xiao Dazhuang's mother probably wanted to tell Xiao Cheng that there was food at home, so they didn't need to eat out anymore.

Xiao Cheng's thought after hearing this was that Xiao Wei was now capable of supporting himself, and he could continue doing his work.

I don't need to go home as often anymore.

Although Xiao Cheng had never been home often, after that, he rarely came home, sometimes not even for three days at a time.

Xiao Cheng doesn't think it's difficult for a four-year-old to learn to cook.

That's how he got through it himself.

Xiao Wei should do the same.

In Xiao Cheng's mind, this was common sense and a very normal thing.

Xiao Wei has consistently performed very well.

At least she didn't cut her fingers while chopping vegetables or burn down the kitchen for Xiao Cheng when he finally came home. Instead, she cooked a good meal and ate with him.

Although Xiao Cheng only ate a few bites before stopping.

The food the kids cooked was terrible.

It's only good when cooked; it has absolutely nothing to do with being delicious.

This was Xiao Cheng's true feeling at the time.

He was disgusted and decided never to eat Xiao Wei's cooking again, just like he never ate the junk food that Luo Shiliu, Xiao Dazhuang, Wang Hao, and Xiao Zhongbiao would make for him every year on his birthday; it just didn't look appetizing.

Life went on as usual; the addition of another person to the household didn't have much of an impact on Xiao Cheng.

Everyone goes their own way, and all is well.

Until one afternoon.

When Xiao Cheng returned from outside, he saw a hen in the yard, clucking and pooping.

They made the yard dirty and smelly.

Xiao Cheng went straight to the kitchen, grabbed a cleaver, and prepared to kill a chicken.

Perhaps because the hen was screaming so pitifully as she ran for her life, Xiao Wei heard it in the backyard, ran back, and saw Xiao Cheng about to kill the chicken. He was so frightened that he immediately grabbed Xiao Cheng's leg and knelt down.
