Chapter Sixty-One: What is he after?

Grandpa and Grandma have already gone to inspect the other sand piles.

Xiao Wei was too small to see the battle situation above. He thought Xiao Cheng and Bai Lu would follow their grandparents, so he quietly hugged his big straw hat and followed to patrol the sand pile.

Bai Lu immediately let go, turned her head to the side to chew the chestnut, as if nothing had just happened.

Xiao Cheng lowered his deep eyes slightly, turned his hand behind his back, and asked casually, "Is it delicious?"

Bai Lu casually replied, "It's delicious."

Realizing something was wrong, he shook his head: "It doesn't taste good."

He shook his head, then nodded, and finally answered seriously, "Chestnuts are delicious."

After saying that, he continued chewing the chestnut in his mouth, swallowing it whole, as if it were tasteless chewing wax.

I swallowed too quickly and it got stuck in my throat.

"Cough—cough cough cough—"

Bai Lu coughed until her face turned red, and subconsciously pinched her throat with two fingers, trying to push the chestnuts inside down.

But chestnut flesh is so powdery and sticky that if you swallow it too quickly, it feels like it's stuck in your throat and you can't swallow it down.

Suddenly, a large hand covered my back, controlling the force and rhythm, gently patting to help me breathe.

At the same time, a man sighed helplessly and incomprehensibly, "Why are you eating in such a hurry?"

Bai Lu: "..."

The chestnut in my throat was swallowed down.

"Because chestnuts are delicious." She gave a reasoned explanation.

The grandpa and grandma, who had just returned from inspecting the chestnut sand dunes, nodded with smiles. The grandma said, "The chestnuts are indeed delicious. They don't spoil or get infested with insects even after being buried in the sand dunes for half a year. The flesh is plump, soft, and sweet, and they taste especially delicious."

“There isn’t much farmland down the mountain, and we don’t have enough rice. We used to boil chestnuts to eat. Now that chestnuts can be sold, we can buy more rice.”

As she spoke, the old woman's eyes lit up, and she turned to ask the old man, "What do you think, should we raise some more piglets?"

"Sell the chestnuts to Dazhuang's wife, and have Dazhuang drive to Zhujia Village to bring back some piglets for us, shall we?"

Grandpa thought for a moment and nodded in agreement: "There's pig feed on the mountain, so raising pigs won't be a problem."

"Dazhuang, can you get us some piglets instead?" The old woman looked at "Dazhuang" with bright eyes.

Grandpa was also looking at him.

Their aged eyes held a hint of expectation.

Zhujia Village is too far from Xiaojia Village; it would take half a day to walk there. Driving would be much more convenient and faster.

There are no trucks in Xiaojia Village. A few years ago, Xiao Guofu's family had a 28-inch bicycle. Later, when he was riding back from the market in town, the chain broke. He had to push it until sunset before he got home. It was never repaired.

The only tricycle in the village was bought at the beginning of the year by the village store. They cherish it and wash and clean it every day. Don't even think about lending it to them to transport piglets.

The grandparents can only rely on "Dazhuang".

Bai Lu found it a bit difficult.

Xiao Cheng found it troublesome to bring a whole cart of young girls. On the way here, after the car had left the town for a while, the girls in the back of the cart saw the beautiful green mountains and clear waters and were so happy and excited that they discussed it loudly, waving their arms and shouting excitedly.

He frowned and kept honking the horn.

Xiao Dazhuang, in the car in front, thought he was driving too slowly and blocking his older brother's way.

They kept accelerating and speeding.

The wind howled so hard that it made the old man in the back of the car stand up like a scarecrow.

Bai Lu felt cold just looking at me from behind.

I forced a fawning smile until my face was almost frozen before the big shot finally gave in.

Reluctantly, they moved away from where they were pressing the horn.

I can't imagine what would happen if a big shot was transporting a truckload of grunting, squealing piglets along the way. Would he be so annoyed by the noise that he just slaughtered the piglets on the road?

He definitely wouldn't agree to take the piglets.

Bai Lu racked her brains, trying to come up with another solution, when suddenly a word rang in her ears: "Okay."

The man spoke softly and calmly, yet his words were crystal clear, enough for everyone present to hear.

The grandparents' expectant expressions instantly turned into joy, and they praised "Dazhuang" as a filial and good child.

Even Xiao Wei, who had been silent all the way, stared wide-eyed in surprise. Had his older brother gone mad with qi deviation?

Even people don't want to pull, let alone pull piglets?

Bai Lu's face was frozen at this moment, not from a happy smile, but from anger.

Because when Xiao Cheng said yes, he was looking at her with the same gaze he would give a little piglet.

Pulling the piglets is no different from pulling her.

Don't ask her how she knows, just ask her. Xiao Cheng's smiling eyes clearly said "little piglet"!

You're the little piglet!

Your whole family are little piglets!

Bai Lu pinched his arm in anger.

However, with each pinch, the large hand supporting her waist tightened its grip as if as punishment.

The wicked master still had a cold and aloof expression, as if he were untouched by worldly affairs.

Bai Lu forcefully pried his hands off, turned around and went back to the main house with her grandparents to discuss the details of the cooperation.

Ignore him.

She limped and refused his help.

Xiao Cheng watched the girl's stubborn little figure, a smile rippling in the deep pool of his eyes, and strode after her.

Xiao Wei felt that his older brother had really gone mad lately.

He didn't like the overly polite White Dew.

He only felt satisfied when he had to provoke Bai Lu every few days, making her pinch his arm in anger.

Then he went up to coax her.

I have no idea what they're after.

Grandpa and Grandma didn't have much rice left, so Bailu thought she could exchange it for some rice. She also wanted piglets, so she exchanged a suitable amount of both.

The grandparents readily agreed.

It's rare to see such a thoughtful young couple, caring about whether they have food to eat; that makes them happy.

My heart was warmed.

He immediately decided that after the meal, he would personally take Xiao Cheng and Bai Lu to the home of an elderly man in the clan with many descendants to discuss the purchase of chestnuts.
