Chapter 142 Beep Beep Beep
When Xiao Wei came home from school, he saw someone coming out of his door again, and it was someone he rarely saw.

Pick up the still-ringing white telephone receiver.
He started by saying, "Hello."
A familiar male voice came from the other end of the phone, asking, "Where's Bailu?"

Xiao Wei put the receiver back on the landline and ran quickly back to the kitchen: "Sister-in-law, my brother is calling."
Bai Lu's hand trembled slightly as she put half a spoonful of salt into the pot. She closed her eyes briefly and then nonchalantly put the spoon back.
Start adding chili peppers.
"Then why did you come back so quickly?"
Xiao Wei sat back down in front of the stove, quickly stuffing firewood into it, and recounted the entire conversation:
"My older brother asked me what I was doing, and I said I was cooking. He asked if I hadn't eaten yet, and I said no. He said he would call back later, and then the phone rang."

"Your brother said before that the ship would arrive in another province this morning. Has he landed yet?" Bai Lu asked the bald boy next to her, trying to make conversation.
The bald boy shook his head: "I don't know."
Bai Lu asked again, "When you were on the phone just now, did you hear a ship's horn sounding on his end?"
The bald boy shook his head: "I didn't hear it."
"Did you hear the urgency in his voice?"
"I can't tell from his voice, so he must be very anxious."
"Well... maybe it's something important. Besides his voice, were there any other voices on the phone?"
"No... I think so."
Bai Lu stared at the little bald head, who immediately entered a meditative state and recalled things seriously for a while.
Then he said, "There was the sound of wood falling to the ground."
