Upon hearing Ye Linchen's words, everyone turned to look at Sun Xueyong.
Sun Xueyong was annoyed that Ye Linchen would confront him in front of the whole class.
What can he explain?
He just wouldn't agree; he felt it was unfair!
You guys always talk about gender equality, so why do we need men when it comes to physical labor?
That's so hypocritical!
But how could such a thing be said openly?
He glared at Ye Linchen with hatred.
That's outrageous! It's such a trivial matter, yet they had to call in the counselor.
If he finds out, what will happen to his performance evaluations and scholarships in the future?
Seeing that Sun Xueyong was not speaking, everyone urged him to speak.
"What exactly happened? Say something!"
Why weren't you notified?
A boy slammed his hand on the table and angrily questioned the situation.
"Sun Xueyong, what are you thinking? You didn't inform us about something this important; aren't you just endangering us?"
"What do you mean, 'harming you'? I'm doing this for your own good!" Sun Xueyong couldn't take it anymore and retorted loudly, "It's so hot, moving books is exhausting! Why should the girls reap the benefits while the boys have to work themselves to the bone moving books? I'm just not happy with this arrangement!"
"The boys didn't go today, but the girls still managed to bring the books back! So why should we boys have to do all the dirty and tiring work?"
"I was unhappy with this arrangement yesterday, I disagreed with it, but you didn't listen to me! So why should I help relay your message?"
Ye Linchen said directly, "If you don't want to notify everyone, you don't have to take the mission. If you don't want to move the books, you don't have to come. No one will force you."
"Is it meaningful for you to do these underhanded things behind my back?"
"Besides, the girls aren't just sitting around reaping the benefits. They're in charge of distributing the books so everyone can take a set home directly, saving everyone time. How come you only think the boys are doing the work?"
"The books were able to be brought back today because everyone was responsible and cared about the group. If everyone were selfish like you, no one would have gotten a book."
The other students chimed in, "Exactly! You think it's tiring, but we don't. We're willing to move it."
"You've really gone too far!"
Sun Xueyong retorted even more defiantly: "A bunch of ingrates! I was just trying to save you all some effort!"
"unnecessary!"
"What gives you the right to represent us and make decisions for us?"
"Who do you think you are? You're so arrogant!"
Seeing that everyone was getting increasingly angry, Ye Linchen spoke up to stop them.
“This incident is extremely serious. I feel that Sun Xueyong is no longer suitable for the position of class committee member. I suggest that he be removed from his position and a new candidate be elected.”
"Why should I!"
Sun Xueyong stood up and roared.
He disagrees!
He's aiming for an award, and being a class committee member would greatly increase his chances of receiving one.
With the class committee gone, his chances of being recognized for outstanding performance are also hanging in the balance.
It's all Ye Linchen's fault. Such a small matter could have been handled privately, but he had to make a big fuss and embarrass him!
Instructor Wang, however, strongly agreed with Lin Chen's suggestion.
"The class monitor is right. Electing class committee members is about choosing people who are willing to serve everyone. If they're so petty about moving a book, they don't meet the basic requirements for class committee members. Let's re-elect."
"With so many male students in the class, I believe most of them are willing to serve their classmates."
After Instructor Wang spoke, Sun Xueyong dared not say another word.
The other students had no objections, so Sun Xueyong's position was revoked, and he was put up for re-election as a new safety committee member.
The results came out quickly.
The new safety committee member is Zhang Hongwei, a male student who shares a dormitory with Luo Yuanbing.
He was tall and strong, very powerful, and the most enthusiastic about moving books, carrying the most loads, making trip after trip without complaint.
He was not very good at speaking, and his campaign speeches were not very engaging, which is why he was not elected.
This time, he made up for this shortcoming with his actions.
After the safety committee members were elected, everyone started receiving their books.
Sun Xueyong was stripped of his position and looked very unhappy. When he received the document, he stared at Ye Linchen with a dark expression and his eyes were full of hatred.
Ye Linchen wasn't afraid of him at all. She glared back, threw the book into his arms, and turned to the next classmate.
Sun Xueyong was ignored, which made him even angrier. He said fiercely, "Ye Linchen, you're something else!"
Upon hearing this, Luo Yuanbing immediately said, "Of course the class monitor is great. If it weren't for the class monitor being here today, the reputation of all the boys in our class would have been ruined by you."
Sun Xueyong was even angrier. He muttered a few curses under his breath for being ungrateful and stormed off.
After distributing the books, Ye Linchen and her roommates returned to their dormitory, put down the books, and headed to a hot pot restaurant.
Meanwhile, Ye Zhenghua also found Meng Zihan a new job.
There are still two.
One of them worked as a cleaner at the steel plant's staff university, and was affiliated with the steel plant's living services company.
"What? A cleaning job?" Meng Zihan exclaimed immediately upon hearing the job offer. "I won't go! Uncle, you're going too far! How can a high school graduate like me be a cleaner!"
"You're lucky to have any job at all, and you're being picky! Textile factories don't require cleaning, and you couldn't handle that kind of work, could you?"
"There are layoffs everywhere these days, do you think this job is easy to find? I had to ask around for you!"
"The work isn't strenuous. It involves sweeping the corridors, wiping the stairs, and cleaning the restrooms in the morning, at noon, and after get off work. You can rest at other times. The salary is 150 yuan."
"Cleaning the bathroom? I'm not going, I'm not going! It's so embarrassing!"
Meng Zihan covered her ears and screamed.
"There's one more. If this doesn't work, I'm out of ideas."
Meng Zihan immediately lowered her hand and looked at him with trepidation.
