Meng Zihan was standing in front of Gu Yifei's mother. Her feet unconsciously moved a step, and the last bit of politeness on her face was about to crumble.

"It's better than standing here in the stairwell, exposed to the cold wind."
Meng Zihan looked up at her and rolled her eyes without any attempt to hide it.
"Heh..." She snorted softly, her tone turning sharp. "Did your family build this dormitory building? Do I need your permission to wander around anywhere?"
She simply crossed her arms and leaned against the wall of the building.
"I'd rather stay here; I'm not going to that park."
Gu's mother had never been spoken to like that before, and her face turned red with anger.
Having lived half my life, I've never seen such an ungrateful and stubborn girl.
The anger in her chest made her throat tight, and all notions of dignity and reason vanished because of this resentment.
She called out his full name: "Meng Zihan!"
"Do you think I can't see through your little tricks? I'm telling you right now, you'd better give up on that idea!"
As the two were talking, neighbors passing by looked over curiously, some even stopping to see what was going on.
When Meng Zihan saw that someone was paying attention, the sharp provocation on her face instantly disappeared, replaced by an expression of having suffered a great injustice.
"Aunt Gu, what do you mean by that?" Her eyes reddened, and her voice trembled with tears. "What could I possibly be thinking? I'm just wandering around here. What bad intentions could I possibly have?"
She gestured with her hand to indicate the familiar red brick walls around her.
“I grew up here. Which corner of this building haven’t I played in?” Her voice was full of nostalgia and sadness. “Life isn’t going well for me now, so is it wrong to come back and recapture those old feelings?”
As she spoke, she deliberately raised her voice to make sure that all the neighbors who were peeking around could hear her clearly.
"Just because you're the factory director's family member, does that mean this whole area downstairs belongs to you, and I, an ordinary person, don't even have the right to stand here?"
Meng Zihan has been loitering around downstairs at Gu Yifei's house lately, which has already attracted a lot of attention. Some people have speculated that she is after Gu Yifei.
Hearing Meng Zihan say this, some people couldn't help but whisper among themselves.
"Meng Zihan is really shameless. Even after all this, he still has the nerve to come here and hang around."
