Chapter 318 Would You Take Me In?

Ye Linchen didn't take Meng Zihan's provocation seriously at all.

Rather than getting entangled with someone who lives in the past, she cares more about her present and future.

Right now, all she wants is to make her life better and better.

Tomorrow is the last day of Ye Linchen's holiday, and the day after tomorrow, tutoring classes will resume.

This time, Zhao Yutong's mother recommended two new students to her, both of whom are in their second year of high school. This means that she will be busier than before, and will have to spend twice as much time preparing lessons, as well as prepare more content.

And in just over ten days, the second semester of university classes will begin.

She didn't want to fall behind in her studies because of her part-time job.

Having suffered from a lack of education in her previous life, she understands the importance of knowledge better than anyone else in this life.

Back home, Ye Linchen created a detailed study and work schedule for herself, carefully planning her time to ensure that neither study nor work would be neglected.

In this plan, on the last day of the holiday, she decided to stay at home and not go anywhere, so as to prepare her lessons properly.

When Gu Jingran called again to invite her to go to the movies, she politely declined.

"I have to go to class the day after tomorrow, so I won't go out tomorrow. I'll prepare my lesson plan carefully and try to make a good impression on the new students."

Gu Jingran had said he would support any decision she made, and this time was no exception.

His low voice came from the other end of the phone, carrying a reassuring warmth.

He readily agreed, "Okay, then you can focus on your reading and don't worry about anything else."

He softened his voice and added, "It's a promise, you have to eat on time, don't go hungry."

So, the next day, Ye Linchen got up very early and plunged into a pile of exercises and textbooks.

After she finally finished writing the analysis for the last example problem, she stretched and yawned, only to realize that her stomach was growling with hunger.

Her neck was also a little stiff. She turned her head and was surprised to find that the clock on the wall was pointing to twelve o'clock.

She's been busy all morning.

She stood up, intending to go to the kitchen to find something to eat.

Opening the cupboard door, it was completely empty, with only a few shriveled noodles remaining.

She's been eating out with Gu Jingran these past few days and forgot to stock up on supplies.

What should we do for lunch?

Ye Linchen was a little worried.

It was too cold outside, and she didn't really want to go out.

It would be great if someone suddenly delivered food to my door.

She was lost in thought when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.

Ye Linchen raised his eyebrows in surprise.

Someone has actually arrived?

Who could it be at this time?

Could it be that some divine being heard her innermost thoughts?

Ye Linchen muttered to himself as he walked over and opened the door.

As soon as the door opened, Ye Linchen was stunned.

The amazing guy standing outside the door was none other than Gu Jingran!

He was wearing a dark gray short coat, with a light sheen of sweat on his forehead. He was carrying a briefcase in one hand and a plastic bag containing several insulated lunch boxes in the other.

Upon seeing Ye Linchen, a familiar smile spread across Gu Jingran's cold and stern face.

“Xiao Chen…”

Ye Linchen was both surprised and delighted, and her eyes immediately curved into a smile.

Why did you come here?

Gu Jingran lifted the plastic bag in his hand, speaking as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

“It’s lunchtime, and I figured you’d forgotten to eat again.” He said, as he casually stepped into the house. “So I came to bring you some food.”

Looking at his tall figure, Ye Linchen was so moved that she almost burst into tears.

He's truly an amazing guy!

Gu Jingran was unaware of Ye Linchen's sigh. He walked to the small square table with practiced ease and took out the insulated lunch boxes one by one.

As the lids were opened one by one, the aroma of food immediately filled the entire small house.

Ye Linchen followed and immediately spotted the familiar gold-embossed logo on the bag containing the lunchbox.

That's the most expensive private restaurant in Jiangcheng.

She felt warm and tender inside, but couldn't help teasing him.

"Mr. Gu, did you install surveillance cameras here?"

"How did you know I was hungry and that we were out of food and supplies?"

Gu Jingran finished setting out the last box of soup, and when he heard this, he looked up at her, his smile deepening.

"Maybe... this is what they call telepathy?" he replied, half-jokingly.

He pointed to one of the brightly colored dishes and said, "I remember you said you liked this restaurant's Kung Pao Chicken."

"This time they added extra peanuts, try it."

Ye Linchen felt as if her heart had been warmed by lukewarm water. Without saying a word, she turned and ran briskly into the kitchen.

She took out two clean bowls and chopsticks, filled them with rice, and placed them on the table.

The two sat facing each other at a small square table, the air filled with the aroma of food and a touch of sweetness.

Gu Jingran was the first to pick up his chopsticks and put a piece of tender Kung Pao Chicken into Ye Linchen's bowl.

"Try it, is it the flavor you like?"

Ye Linchen put a piece of chicken into his mouth, savored it, and nodded: "This is the taste, just like the ones I get at restaurants."

She also picked up a piece of fish-flavored eggplant and put it in Gu Jingran's bowl, "This is also delicious, sweet and sour, and goes very well with rice."

Gu Jingran praised, "It's really good. The food here is truly amazing. It didn't disappoint me." He then gently advised, "Don't overwork yourself. Make sure you get plenty of rest. Once you're done with this busy period, I'll take you to visit some of the counties down below. There are a few unique restaurants there that will definitely not disappoint you."

Ye Linchen was somewhat surprised: "You've even eaten at restaurants in the county?"
