Chapter 321 The Difficult Male Student

Seeing Xu Siyu's expression, Ye Linchen asked, "What's wrong? Is there something wrong with him?"

Xu Siyu bit her lip, a hint of difficulty flashing in her eyes.

She glanced at Ye Linchen, seemingly trying to find the right words.

"That Wei Boyuan... I've only heard of him."

"How should I put it... he's definitely not a good person."

After saying that, he added, "If you're alone with someone, it's best to be careful."

This guy seems to be in some trouble.

Ye Linchen was puzzled by what she said, but he didn't show it on his face.

She nodded to Xu Siyu: "Thank you for reminding me, I will pay attention."

She took out a prepared math mock exam from her bag and handed it to Xu Siyu.

"This is today's homework. Finish it before the next class."

After giving his instructions, Ye Linchen bid farewell to the Xu family and headed towards Wei Boyuan's house.

Like Zhao Yutong, Wei Boyuan's class was also held in the living room, with Wei's mother listening in from the side.

The Wei family's living room was clean and tidy. The boy named Wei Boyuan did not match the image of the "not a good person" that Xu Siyu had described.

He was wearing a gray wool sweater, his head was down, and the lines of his profile made him look quiet, even somewhat frail.

Wei's mother was dressed very fashionably and looked very young.

After introducing themselves, Ye Linchen didn't say much. He opened his textbook and tried to explain a typical function problem to Wei Boyuan, but Wei Boyuan didn't react at all.

His eyes were fixed on a single point in the book, without nodding or shaking his head.

"Did you understand the solution to this problem?"

Ye Linchen patiently asked again.

Wei Boyuan kept his eyes down, not even moving a finger, maintaining his silence to the very end.

Ye Linchen stared at his lowered head, secretly cursing him.

Does Xu Siyu mean "not a good person"?

To be precise, I'd say someone who's difficult to get along with.

Unable to continue explaining the textbook material, Ye Linchen had to change tactics, taking out the test paper from his bag and placing it on the table in front of him.

"Why don't you take this test first, and I'll see which specific knowledge points you're weak in?"

These words seemed to have an effect. Wei Boyuan finally raised his head, his gaze sweeping over Ye Linchen's face, and a very faint smile suddenly appeared on his lips.

A half-smile.

Those eyes and smile sent a chill down Ye Linchen's spine, making him feel very uncomfortable.

Before she could figure out where her discomfort came from, Wei Boyuan had already reached out, pinched one corner of the test paper with two fingers, and pushed it towards the middle of the table as if he were disgusted by something dirty.

"No need to look, I don't know how to do it either."

Ye Linchen's patience finally wore thin. Looking at the test paper she had painstakingly written, her eyebrows involuntarily furrowed.

Before she could say anything, Wei's mother, who was standing next to her, was provoked by Wei Boyuan's words.

He suddenly stood up from the sofa, took a few steps over, and slapped Wei Boyuan hard on the back several times.

She was both anxious and angry, and scolded in a low voice, "You child! How dare you talk to your teacher like that! Look at this again carefully, how can you not know a single question!"

Wei Boyuan wasn't angry at being hit. He just lazily shrugged his shoulders, leaned back in his chair, and looked up at his mother.

He casually retorted, "I really don't know how to do a single problem. If I did, would you need to pay for a tutor for me?"

After hearing what Wei Boyuan said, Ye Linchen made up his mind.

She put the ballpoint pen on the table, looked up, and instead of looking at the boy who was leaning back in his chair with an indifferent expression, turned her gaze to Wei's mother.

"Auntie, can I talk to you alone for a few minutes?"

Upon hearing this, Wei Boyuan lazily shifted his posture, stretching his legs out long, and looked at Ye Linchen with a nonchalant smirk.

"What do you want to say to my mom? Can't I listen?"

Ye Linchen ignored him and continued to look at Wei's mother, waiting for her answer.

This complete disregard made Wei Boyuan feel more disheartened than any scolding.

He pursed his lips and remained silent.

Mother Wei nodded hurriedly, not forgetting to glare fiercely at her son, suppressing her anger as she said, "You stay here and behave yourself, I'll deal with you later!"

After saying that, she gestured to Ye Linchen to "please" and led her to the balcony outside the living room, thoughtfully closing the glass sliding door behind her.

As soon as she stepped onto the balcony, the composure that Wei's mother had been trying to maintain crumbled.

She looked at Ye Linchen and asked anxiously, "Teacher Ye, is it... is my child too difficult to teach? Please tell me if there's a problem."

Looking at her anxious face, Ye Linchen knew that this mother was genuinely worried about her child, but she was using the wrong methods.

“Auntie,” Ye Linchen lowered her head, organized her thoughts, and then looked up again, speaking slowly and deliberately, “Excuse me for speaking frankly, but I don’t think Wei Boyuan’s current situation is due to a lack of learning ability or a failure to grasp the knowledge points, but rather to his attitude towards learning.”

She paused briefly, giving Wei's mother time to process what she had said, before continuing.

"His attitude today was very clear; he had absolutely no enthusiasm for learning and maintained a confrontational attitude from beginning to end. Under such circumstances, hiring a tutor would not be very helpful."

"If he wants to improve his grades, the key is up to him."

"All I can do is help him fill in the gaps in his knowledge and organize his understanding, based on his willingness to learn."

"But his current state is clearly like a wall that has been erected, and I have become his adversary."
