She glanced at Ye Linchen, who was sitting expressionlessly to the side, and cautiously asked the police.
“I’m scared. Could my cousin take me home? There’s been some misunderstanding between us sisters because of Liu Mingxuan’s instigation. This is a good opportunity to clear things up in person.”
The police officers exchanged glances, then looked at Ye Linchen.
Ye Linchen stood up and nodded slightly: "Okay, I'll see her off."
She stood up, opened the door to the interrogation room, and walked out first, then gestured to Meng Zihan to follow.
The two walked out of the police station one after the other.
Once on the street, Meng Zihan dropped all pretense and reverted to her arrogant self.
Her eyes crinkled into a smile as she looked at Ye Linchen: "So, Ye Linchen, do you like this wonderful gift?"
Ye Linchen stared back at her and said calmly, "You've been running around and racking your brains, but it's all just the tricks of a clown. It hasn't had any real impact on me."
Meng Zihan curled her lips and snorted coldly.
"Really? Don't you know that it's easy to spread rumors, but incredibly difficult to debunk them?"
"Now the whole Jiangcheng University knows that you got into a fight with your roommate over a man. If you want to clarify things, you'll probably have to put in much more effort than I do."
She tilted her head back and chuckled, "Haven't been sleeping well these past few nights, have you? How does it feel?"
Ye Linchen, however, did not take it seriously.
"They're just rumors, nothing to worry about. Even if I make up the most convincing stories, they won't become the truth if I haven't done them."
Meng Zihan raised an eyebrow: "Really? I hope you can keep being so stubborn."
She leaned closer to Ye Linchen and said, "However, I still want to thank you for getting rid of Liu Mingxuan, this thorn in my side. If it weren't for you, I really wouldn't know what to do with this scoundrel."
Ye Linchen looked at her mockingly: "Then what are you so smug about? You've been unable to do anything about him, but I took care of him in one move. Do you still think you're better than me?"
