Gu Jingran looked at her bewildered expression, his emotions growing even stronger.
He smirked and continued to explain.
“You seem to have always been like this, from the time we first met until now.”
"No matter what happens, big or small, you're used to bearing it all alone."
"Only after everything has settled down and things have calmed down will you tell me the result in a nonchalant manner."
He spoke slowly, as if he were repeating something he had been thinking about for a long time.
“In the past, I always made excuses for myself.”
“I told myself that I was just used to being independent because I couldn’t rely on my family, so I had to rely on myself for everything.”
“Back then we were just friends. I thought it was normal that you didn’t say anything, and I had no right to ask.”

“You handle everything by yourself, and only casually tell me over the phone after you've resolved all the problems.”
Gu Jingran looked directly into Ye Linchen's eyes.

Gu Jingran lowered his eyes and said in a muffled voice, "So I'm wondering if I haven't done enough."
"Is it because I didn't give you enough security that you couldn't fully trust me? That's why you thought of telling me the moment something happened?"
His voice grew softer and softer, carrying a sense of frustration.
“I’m not unhappy, Xiao Chen…” he called her name, saying each word carefully, “I’m just angry with myself.”
Getting angry at yourself is useless.
“It seems that every time you need help the most or feel most helpless, I am not by your side.”
"I couldn't stand by your side, I couldn't share even a little bit of your burden, and instead I left you to face it all by yourself."
Ye Linchen was completely stunned.
