"That's because he hasn't truly learned his lesson yet," Ye Linchen calmly replied.
"Some truths, no matter how many times others say them, are not as profound as the truth of hitting a wall yourself."

"It would be better to keep a close eye on his movements and prepare in advance before Meng Zihan makes a move."

Gu Jingran's gaze sharpened: "Do you think she would resort to underhanded methods?"
Ye Linchen nodded without hesitation: "Judging from the way she dealt with me this time, she has no bottom line left."
“Okay,” Gu Jingran replied in a deep voice, “I will have someone keep an eye on Xiaofei.”
After finishing his conversation with Gu Yifei, Gu Jingran changed the subject, his gaze falling back on Ye Linchen. The sharpness in his eyes softened, replaced by undisguised worry.
He moved further back into the sofa, leaning slightly forward, and looked at her, saying, "I always feel uneasy knowing that Meng Zihan lives here."
"How about... we move to another place?"
Ye Linchen shook his head: "Let her come at me, I'm not afraid of her."
"Besides, I usually live at school and only come back here occasionally on weekends, so she can't find me even if she wants to."
Gu Jingran clearly disagreed with her optimism: "The tutoring classes end too late, isn't this a lesson learned?"
"Have you thought about what would have happened if your friends hadn't arrived in time?"
Ye Linchen couldn't refute these words. She pursed her lips and remained silent.
Gu Jingran looked at her stubborn profile and gave in.
