Ye Linchen's words made the other three fall into deep thought.
The room fell silent for a moment, with only the rustling of branches as the wind blew through the window.
September had just begun, and the weather was still a bit muggy, but the atmosphere in the room became heavy because of these words.
Li Hongying was the first to speak, and she thought for a moment while resting her chin on her hand.
"If it's just about being an employee, running errands and organizing documents, I don't think it's a big problem."
"We can keep an eye on her to prevent her from making the same mistakes again."
"Anyway, we're still in the planning stage, so there's still some room for error. Even if she's really not suitable, we can have her leave at any time. If she makes a mistake, we'll just say so and have her leave the project team."
Lin Xuemei nodded and continued, "I also think that might work. Maybe she's just excited about it now. If she's someone who likes to take shortcuts, she probably won't last long and will quit on her own. Let's just consider it taking care of our roommate and helping her get some experience."
Ye Linchen remained silent for a moment.
She understood that both of them had valid points, but her concerns remained.
After thinking for a moment, she decided to voice the questions she had considered before.
"But if we actually accept her joining, a new problem will arise."
All three of them looked up at her.
Ye Linchen said earnestly, "Zhao Yutong said that her family has connections and resources that can help us. But once we use these resources, she can't just be considered a menial 'employee.' Once the resources are invested, she will be a core part of the team."
"If one day she really runs into trouble and is forced to leave, all those connections and resources will go with her, which would be a huge blow to us."
"Another possibility is that she didn't leave, and we successfully obtained the support quota..."
"By then, her family's connections and resources will account for the majority, but her position in the project will be lower than ours. Her input and return will be disproportionate, and this disparity can easily cause resentment."
"Over time, she may develop resentment, which would be a major threat to the stability of the team."
After she finished speaking, the room fell silent once again.
Li Hongying bit the pen cap, her brows furrowed tightly.
Lin Xuemei looked down at the draft paper in her hand, tapping the end of her pen repeatedly, clearly deep in thought.
Lin Xiaojuan was the most direct: "I agree with Xiaochen's concerns. This is indeed a big problem that cannot be ignored. If the project really reaches that stage, a small decision made in the early stages could have very serious consequences."
Li Hongying sighed and said, "It sounds like there are risks involved no matter what we do."
"Can we compromise?" Lin Xuemei asked hesitantly. "For example, could we just let her join, but not use the resources she provides? That way, she'd really be an employee, doing things like interviews, organizing, and running errands. We'd still have to find the connections and startups we need ourselves. That way, even if problems arise later and she leaves, it won't affect us too much."
Ye Linchen looked up at her, nodded, and said, "That's what I think too. We accept her, but only as a regular employee."
"We still need to handle the interviewing of entrepreneurs and finding startups ourselves. Although it will be more difficult in the early stages, at least it's a safer approach. This way, even if there are changes later, the damage to us will be minimal."
Her words brought a sigh of relief to everyone.
Li Hongying tapped the table and readily said, "I think it's feasible! Let's do it this way then."
Lin Xuemei nodded in agreement: "Yes, I agree. This is indeed the most suitable way."
Lin Xiaojuan added, "With this arrangement, if she's really interested in learning, she can stay; if she gives up halfway, it won't be a loss for us."
After discussing it amongst themselves, the group eventually reached a consensus.
Li Hongying suggested with a smile, "Since they're newcomers, they need someone to mentor them. I happen to be the assistant class advisor for the freshmen right now, so I'll take Zhao Yutong under my wing to help them integrate into the school more quickly. I know her fairly well, and if I keep a close eye on her, there shouldn't be any problems."
The group of people all expressed that they had no objections.
The matter concerning Zhao Yutong has finally been settled, and the atmosphere in the room immediately became much more relaxed.
Li Hongying opened the documents in her hand first and said, "Alright, the matter of Zhao Yutong is over for now. Let's continue with the progress report."
The meeting then proceeded to the next stage.
Li Hongying and Lin Xuemei were mainly responsible for building the company's framework and researching the target audience. They took out the materials they had compiled over the past few days, spread them out on the table, and showed them to everyone page by page.
"This is the preliminary framework, mainly divided into three parts: risk assessment, fund management, and entrepreneurship consulting," Li Hongying explained while pointing to the sketch. "But the problem now is that the target group is not clearly defined. We have considered several directions, such as college student entrepreneurship, small factory transformation, and individual business owners, but the needs of these three groups are very different, so we may need to narrow down the scope further."
Lin Xuemei added, "Yes, what I mean is to start with the groups that are easiest to reach, such as individual business owners or small workshops. Their capital is small, but their need for risk assessment is actually very large. We need to find a few typical cases to support this."
This part of the discussion was mainly conducted by the three people, and Lin Xiaojuan couldn't get a word in edgewise.
Her focus was on technology, so she listened quietly, occasionally jotting down key points.
After they finished discussing several revision suggestions, Lin Xiaojuan opened her notebook and explained the principles behind the simple model she had built over the past few days.
