She felt that her answer was reasonable and that every word was the truth.
She had considered changing her story, embellishing her relationship with Meng Xuejun, and portraying it as a deep father-daughter bond, but she knew in her heart that it would be useless.
The floor where the company was located had poor sound insulation, and she and Meng Xuejun argued every few days. Several offices next door could hear their arguments.
If she were to actually act like a dutiful daughter in front of the police, a simple check would immediately expose her deception. In that case, she would become even more suspicious.

The lead policeman put down his pen, his gaze sharp: "Before Meng Xuejun disappeared, besides you, did anyone else see him?"
Meng Zihan pondered for a moment, then replied, "Probably. He went to the warehouse to pick up the goods before he left. There are security guards in the warehouse area; they should have seen him."
"Okay, I understand." The police officer nodded, noted down the message, and said, "We will investigate and find out more. Please stay in touch and cooperate with our investigation."
After saying this, the two stood up, put away their notebooks and identification documents, and took their leave briefly.
After the office door closed, the room fell silent again.
Meng Zihan sat in the chair and raised her hand to smooth the stray hairs on her forehead.
For her, this was originally just a minor incident.
Meng Xuejun's disappearance didn't worry her at all; instead, she felt a sense of peace and quiet.
But she never expected that Meng Xuejun's disappearance would bring her an irreparable blow.
