When Uncle Shen saw Shen Zhiyuan sticking his neck out like a fighting rooster that refused to admit defeat, he couldn't help but laugh at the image of him being scolded by the three little girls.
However, seeing how angry he was, I finally held back.
They didn't rub salt into his wounds.
Uncle Shen cleared his throat and advised him, "You're too hasty. How can you just go up and start hitting someone? Ask questions first."
"And those insults you used, like 'neither fish nor fowl' and 'messing around,' if they were truly from good families, and the four of them were genuinely studying together, it's normal for them to be upset by what you said."
Shen Zhiyuan still felt wronged.
"Couldn't they explain themselves properly? I'm not an unreasonable person. They've explained it clearly; I really wronged them. I can apologize!"
Uncle Shen looked at him and sighed.
His younger brother is good in every way, but he spends most of his time in research institutions, busy with academic research every day, and he is indeed a bit lacking in interpersonal skills.
Uncle Shen reflected, "This is also my fault. As soon as I heard that Xiao Yan was skipping class and stealing test papers, I rushed to tell you without verifying it. Logically speaking, Xiao Yan wouldn't do such a thing."
Shen Zhiyuan listened in silence for a long while before asking, "The person who reported you refused to give their name?"
"Yes, I understand her concerns and didn't press her for details. It seems I should ask the teacher to confirm if that's the case."
Shen Zhiyuan shook his head; "There's nothing to ask. I've seen those three girls. Xiao Yan will definitely not learn anything good from being with them."
"Maybe they instigated this painting too. Where have I heard Xiaoyan mention it before?"
Uncle Shen thought for a moment and realized he had never heard of it.
"Let him stay at home. Don't let him go out until he changes his mind. I'll call his teacher tomorrow and ask for leave."
Shen Zhiyuan made a decision.
"By the way, ask about the stolen scroll. If you really wronged Xiaoyan, you have to apologize to him."
"We need to find out who made the call. Isn't this deliberately smearing Xiaoyan's character?"
Shen Zhiyuan thought for a moment and nodded: "I know."
The next day, Ye Linchen brought Shen Yanlin's schoolbag to school, intending to give it to him.
Unfortunately, Shen Yanlin never appeared.
During lunch, Ye Linchen sat with Feng Linlin and Lin Xiaojuan, and the three of them discussed this issue.
Lin Xiaojuan asked curiously, "What do you think Shen Yanlin's dad will do to him when he gets home?"
"They're definitely not having a good time. They can fight like that outside; if they're willing to do it, they'll be even more unrestrained at home."
Feng Linlin heard the crisp sound of the slap again, the clear handprint on Shen Yanlin's face, and the blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.
"What kind of grudge could they have held against someone to be so ruthless!"
The force was no less than when Meng Xueyun hit Ye Linchen.
She sighed.
She had always thought that children were their parents' darlings, but the experiences of these two classmates told her that this was not the case at all.
Ye Linchen swallowed the food in his mouth and guessed, "He's probably locked up by his dad and not allowed to go out."
"How did you know?" Feng Linlin asked curiously.
Ye Linchen analyzed, "His father caused a scene yesterday. Knowing his personality, he will definitely come to the school today and give us an explanation."
“But he didn’t show up, so he can only be unable to get out,” Lin Xiaojuan said immediately.
"That's right, let's wait and see tonight. If they don't come by tonight, that's definitely what will happen."
There's no use in the three of them worrying now; they can only wait until tonight to see what happens.
After lunch, Ye Linchen returned to the classroom, lay down on the desk, and planned to take a nap.
In a daze, I felt someone sit down next to me.
She opened her eyes and saw Meng Zihan sitting in Shen Yanlin's seat, turning her head to stare at her with a sarcastic smile on her face.
Seeing Ye Linchen wake up, Meng Zihan leaned forward, getting closer to Ye Linchen with a mysterious look on her face.
"I have some news for you. Shen Yanlin's parents have asked for leave for him, and he won't be coming to class for a while."
Ye Linchen straightened up and looked at her coldly.
"so what?"
Meng Zihan smiled smugly and flicked her hair with her hand.
"There's no particular reason, I just want to tell you one thing: no parent wants their child to associate with someone who was abandoned by their parents."
Ye Linchen felt a surge of disgust looking at her smug expression.
She knew that Meng Zihan wanted to use the words "abandoned by parents" to hurt her and make her sad.
Ye Linchen, however, didn't care at all.
She smiled faintly and reminded her.
"Meng Zihan, don't be too smug. What's fake can't become real, and what's real can't become fake. You've been scheming to harm people all this time, but you'll eventually be caught. Not everyone in this world is a fool who will be deceived by your tricks."
Meng Zihan's expression changed slightly, but she quickly regained her previous smugness.
She smiled dismissively and said, "Let's see who capsizes first and who can't make it out of school first!"
After finishing speaking, Meng Zihan stood up triumphantly, preparing to return to her seat.
"With such a low IQ, you still spend your time trying to harm others. No wonder your grades are so bad."
Ye Linchen spoke loudly behind her, his tone filled with undisguised sarcasm.
Meng Zihan froze, her face turning bright red.
She bit her lip tightly, without turning around or arguing, and quickened her pace, fleeing to her seat as if she were escaping.
The students all heard what Ye Linchen said, and some of them burst into laughter.
"That's why he's called Meng Shiba."
Lin Xiaojuan smiled and said, "Eighteen is great. I plan to study all subjects at eighteen."
Meng Zihan looked even more disheveled as she walked away. She glared at Lin Xiaojuan and hurried on.
