Chapter Eighteen: Acquiring Household Furniture

That's the only way.

Ye Linchen agreed and then asked her where he could buy cotton wadding.

"You've come to the right person. Don't buy cotton wadding at the mall; it's expensive and not worth it."

The shop owner was in a great mood after making a sale. He had come to regard Ye Linchen as a close friend and went out of the shop to give her pointers.

"Look, follow this road all the way to the end, then turn left. There's a shop there that sells cotton gins; it's all Xinjiang cotton, and the quality is excellent. Everyone around here buys cotton wadding there."

Ye Linchen thanked the shopkeeper, carefully put away the receipt he had written, and headed straight for the cotton shop.

This cotton shop is located on a higher elevation than other shops, and its storefront is smaller, with only half of the door open.

The boss was fluffing cotton inside, while his wife helped him.

The two were wearing masks and hats, and their bodies were covered in white cotton fluff.

Ye Linchen had grown cotton in the countryside. After taking a close look, he wasn't sure if it was Xinjiang cotton, but the quality was indeed quite good.

The price is also affordable, only ten yuan for a pillow core.

There are many options for cotton wadding.

Ye Linchen chose a two-pound mattress and bought a five-pound mattress to make a quilt.

A two-pound one costs thirty yuan, and a five-pound one costs sixty yuan.

Just buying bedding costs 100 yuan.

But Ye Linchen didn't intend to save this money.

Rest is very important, otherwise it will affect your subsequent studies.

The cotton wadding was a bit hard to carry, but luckily the owner was willing to deliver it to my door, though I had to pay a two-yuan delivery fee.

Ye Linchen agreed.

Knowing that Ye Linchen had also made a duvet cover at the tailor shop, the shop owner readily agreed, "I'll bring it over to you tomorrow so you don't have to make another trip, and I won't charge you extra."

Ye Linchen was of course willing; that set was quite a large one.

After leaving the cotton shop, Ye Linchen bought a small iron pot, a stainless steel kettle, and a thermos, spending a total of sixty yuan. He had searched the entire market and found the cheapest prices.

The shop owner was kind; seeing that she bought a lot, he gave her a small wooden spatula and a small stainless steel spoon as a gift, so she basically had everything she needed.

Even so, Ye Linchen still felt a pang of heartache watching the money dwindle away.

On this one trip, she spent more than 290 yuan, and of the 305 yuan she brought with her, only 20 yuan remained.

It's not even enough for a month's food expenses!

Once settled, I need to quickly find a way to make money.
