Chapter Five: You Moved Out

Seeing that Ye Linchen was meek and didn't argue back, Ye Zhenghua thought he had subdued her and was very satisfied.

He glanced at Ye Linchen's swollen left cheek and continued to scold, "Why can't you talk to your mother properly? Why do you have to be so argumentative, saying that this room is yours? Aren't you just hurting her feelings?"

The twin brothers who came along also criticized her: "Big sister, you are too selfish and don't think about others at all."

"Mom already told you that Xiaohan is a light sleeper and can't live with others. Why can't you understand?"

Ye Linchen raised his eyes and said coldly, "You sleep on the sofa. Give her the room."

Meng Xueyun's slap was really hard. Ye Linchen's face was pulled and he was in so much pain that he could barely speak.

However, it was enough for the two brothers to hear clearly.

Ye Linnan immediately exclaimed, "How can that be? There are two of us, how are we going to sleep on the sofa?"

"You're nothing like an older sister! You only care about yourself!"

Ye Linchen rolled his eyes: "If you can't do it, don't ask me to!"

"You, you're being unreasonable! We're all family, we should..."

Ye Linnan and Ye Linbei argued and blamed Ye Linchen, but Meng Zihan wiped away her tears and interrupted them, feeling wronged.

"Xiao Nan, Xiao Bei, stop talking. I'll sleep on the sofa and give the room to my older sister. I'm fine, I'll get used to it..."

Her words were like adding fuel to the fire, highlighting Ye Linchen's unreasonable behavior by contrasting her own kindness and understanding with her own.

Moreover, based on her understanding of Meng Xueyun, she knew that Meng Xueyun would never agree to such a statement; she would only feel more sorry for her.

No sooner had she spoken than Ye Linchen said to Meng Xueyun, "The matter is resolved, she should move out."

Ye Linchen turned around, quickly rolled up the sheets and pillows on the bed, and stuffed them directly into Meng Zihan's hands.

"You all go out, I'm tired."

Meng Zihan frowned, stared at the blanket in her hands, and froze.

This is not quite what she imagined!

She doesn't want to sleep on the sofa; everyone sits on it, it's so dirty!

Meng Xueyun reacted much more strongly than Meng Zihan, snatching the bedding roll and screeching in protest.

"No way, it's not right for a grown woman like you to sleep in the living room."

"It's really not appropriate," Ye Zhenghua also disagreed.

Ye Linchen twitched the corner of his mouth.

See? It's fine for her to sleep there, but it's not appropriate for Meng Zihan to sleep there.

“Aunt, I…” Meng Zihan pouted, her eyes reddening, and said with difficulty, “Just let me go to sleep, I’m fine, you all, don’t fight because of me.”

Meng Xueyun felt uncomfortable listening to this, and turned her head to scold Ye Linchen: "Look at Xiaohan, and then look at you, what kind of behavior is this? Aren't you ashamed?"

"How could your grandmother raise you to be like this, so selfish, unreasonable, and domineering..."

Ye Linchen remained unmoved, letting her hurl insults at her. She walked to the wardrobe, took out the sheets and blankets that Ye Zhenghua had given her in her previous life, and spread them on the bed.

Meng Xueyun became even angrier, her shrill voice echoing in the room. Ye Zhenghua found it outrageous and pulled her aside.

"Keep your voice down, the neighbors must be hearing you. The child just got home and is already making such a fuss; it's not a good influence."

Meng Xueyun suddenly realized what was happening and immediately stopped talking.

The dormitories weren't very soundproof, so if the neighbors argued or bickered, they could hear it clearly.

Meng Xueyun used to be very proud. Her family always spoke softly and never raised their voices. Who knew that Ye Linchen would become like this after he came back!

She was so angry she gritted her teeth, but she had to keep her voice down.

"You brat, you deliberately came back to annoy me! You'd be happy if you made me die of anger!"

"Alright, alright, stop talking. You and Xiaohan will sleep together tonight, I'll sleep on the sofa."

With tears in her eyes, Meng Zihan said pitifully, "It's alright, Uncle, I'll sleep on the sofa. Aunt, please make my bed."

"Alright, your aunt will make the room for you. I guarantee it will be very comfortable, no worse than a bed. Let this brat live in this room by herself and see if she feels guilty."

Meng Xueyun glared at Ye Linchen, threw her bedding roll at Ye Zhenghua, and walked back to the living room angrily.

Ye Zhenghua and the two twins hurriedly followed behind her, and the small house immediately became quiet.

Meng Zihan turned her head and stared at Ye Linchen's busy back. Her smile disappeared and her eyes turned cold.

Ye Linchen, if you're so capable, then stay here forever and don't move out!

Ye Linchen felt her gaze, straightened up, and turned around to meet her eyes.

She glanced at Meng Zihan indifferently, then turned around and continued making the bed.

She felt suffocated in this awful place, and she would move out as soon as she finished the transfer procedures!

Today is Saturday, tomorrow is Sunday, and the day after tomorrow is Monday when the school teachers will be at work, so Ye Zhenghua will take her to handle it.

Just three more days, just three more days of patience, and she'll leave!

The money I saved was enough to rent a bungalow near the school.

I'll figure out how to earn my living expenses and college fees later.

Just as she thought of this, Ye Zhenghua walked into the room and said to her, "Xiao Chen, come over here after you've made the bed. I have something to tell you."

When Ye Linchen saw Ye Zhenghua's posture, she knew that Ye Zhenghua was about to launch into a long-winded lecture to persuade her.

In their past lives, Ye Zhenghua and Meng Xueyun had done this many times.

Meng Xueyun accused Ye Linchen of being immature, not caring about his family, and not being considerate of his parents.

Ye Zhenghua then reasoned with them and appealed to their emotions, explaining the various difficulties their family was facing.

Her family was poor and had many children. As the older sister, she should set an example, understand their difficulties, and help them solve their problems.

The couple worked together seamlessly, leaving Ye Linchen, who had grown up in the countryside, lacked parental care, and desperately craved parental approval, completely defenseless.
