Chapter Sixty-Five: Do you want to renege on your debt?

Li Ming never expected that his casual remark would cost him 500 yuan, and he immediately regretted it and started to cheat.

"I was just joking, why did you take it seriously?"

Ye Linchen wasn't in a hurry. He took out the betting agreement he had prepared beforehand from his bag and showed it to Li Ming.

"The details of the bet are written here, along with our signatures. It's all in black and white, clear as day. There's no way to deny it."

Old Zhao and the others stood up to support Ye Linchen.

"Old Li, we were there and testified! Don't try to renege on your promise!"

"That's right, if you can't do it, don't just talk the talk."

Li Ming looked at Manager Zhang with a troubled expression, hoping that he could step in and help resolve the situation.

"Manager Zhang, what do you think about this..."

Unexpectedly, Manager Zhang also sided with Ye Linchen.

"Old Li, a real man keeps his word! A bet is a bet, don't let people laugh at us."

"Brother Li, what if Xiao Ye loses? Will you ask her to compensate you?" Xu Renshi asked from the side.

"Of course I won't ask her for it, little girl..."

Before Li Ming could finish speaking, Ye Linchen interrupted him.

"Brother Li, you told me to prepare 500 yuan before the meeting, have you forgotten? Everyone is listening."

Maggie Chan jumped out to testify: "I heard it, it was him who said it!"

Li Ming wanted to say a few more words in his defense, but he found that everyone's eyes were on him.

If they default on their debts, how can they stay at the company?

Li Ming subconsciously touched his pocket, where he found only fifty-odd yuan.

He was filled with regret. If he had known that Ye Linchen could secure sponsorship, he would never have made such a boast!

He wished Ye Linchen was as magnanimous as him; if he called her "good sister" a few times, Ye Linchen would forgive the debt.

Unfortunately, Ye Linchen had no such intention and just stared intently at him.

Li Ming gritted his teeth and said casually, "Xiao Ye, I don't have that much cash on me. I'll go back and get the money, and I'll give it to you another day, okay?"

Ye Linchen, of course, could not agree to that.

Li Ming is clearly an irresponsible old fox. Even with the majority of people around him today, they can't make him honor his bet. It will be even more difficult in the future.

She shook her head with a half-smile.

"Brother Li, are you trying to renege on your debt?"

Manager Zhang said from the side, "Old Li, you're a grown man, don't make a fool of yourself. If you really don't have any money with you, I can lend it to you first, and you can pay me back later."

After Manager Zhang spoke, Li Ming was completely at a loss.

He had no choice but to take out a few crumpled bills from his pocket, borrow some from his colleague and Manager Zhang, and reluctantly handed over five hundred yuan to Ye Linchen.

"Consider it tuition," Manager Zhang said from the side.

Ye Linchen reached out and took it, counted it carefully, and only put it into his bag after confirming that it was correct.

She tore up the bet agreement, looked at Li Ming, and said in a calm tone, "We don't need to keep this piece of paper."

Li Ming's face burned with embarrassment. Unable to stay any longer, he lowered his head and slunk away from the conference room.

The gambling game on one side had just ended when an even larger-scale debt collection operation began on the other side.

The conference room suddenly became noisy, with the sounds of banging on tables and shouting all mixed together, making the scene chaotic.

Ye Linchen stood up, slung his bag over his shoulder, and walked out of the conference room with Manager Zhang and HR Xu.

Next, she will go to buy clothes and school supplies, waiting for school to start.
