Chapter 530 Encounter at the Hospital

Ye Qing raised her eyes to look at Dalson: "You know what that means, right?"

“I understand,” Dalson said. “You said before that you didn’t want to get involved in our company’s office politics, so what do you mean by that now?”

After asking Ye Qing, Dalson said before Ye Qing could speak, "What you meant by your ancient saying was that we need to understand each other. I understand Jiang Xinya; she's incredibly foolish."

Ye Qing shook her head: "You only understand the surface, or rather, you don't understand at all. You know that Jiang Xinya is not qualified for the position of editor-in-chief, so why don't you go and find out why your company's senior management put the incompetent Jiang Xinya in this position?"

"Someone must have made her do it," Dalson said, waving his hand irritably.

"Your company is a large multinational corporation. Is personnel appointment so hasty? It is obvious that your company strongly supported Jiang Xinya, which is why she became the editor-in-chief of the Nancheng branch. But have you not thought about why your company's senior management did this? Although I don't want to admit it, there is a fact I have to say: for you foreigners, Asian faces are not actually favored. You know why I was determined to come back in the first place."

Ye Qing clearly analyzed the current situation for Dalson, "Of course, it's understandable that your company wants to open a branch in Nancheng and find a local to be the editor-in-chief. But isn't the usual practice to select outstanding people in Nancheng? Why did you directly find someone from abroad who is almost unknown to be the editor-in-chief? If I were you, I wouldn't complain. I would find out what happened and then deal with it accordingly."

Dilson has always been straightforward and doesn't overthink things.

Now that Ye Qing has said so much, he understands a bit more, but he still has some questions: "Why should I make myself work so hard? My mission is to get Jiang Xinya to leave."

If Ye Qing didn't know Dilson and his talent, he would have thought this guy was just slow-witted.

Ye Qing patiently explained to Dalson, "It's like traditional Chinese medicine. Normally, if we have a headache, we don't just take medicine to stop the pain. We first find out why our head hurts and then treat the symptoms. Similarly, Jiang Xinya's problem is similar."

Dalson roughly understood what Ye Qing meant. He said, "I will do as you say and agree to what the company will do, and that's why they found Jiang Xinya to be the editor-in-chief."

“Jiang Xinya has a grandmother abroad…” Ye Qing was interrupted by Dalson excitedly before she could finish her sentence, “Oh, I see.”

Hearing Dalson's excited voice, Ye Qing was startled: "What do you know?"

"It seems the founder of our magazine is sick and about to meet God. He's busy making his will and such. I heard he has a wife from Nancheng. Is she the Jiang Xinya's maternal grandmother you mentioned?" Dalson looked at Ye Qing expectantly.

Ye Qing mentioned that Jiang Xinya's grandmother's original intention was to have Dalson keep an eye out for whether any of their company's senior executives had Chinese relatives.

I didn't expect Dilson to react so quickly.

This result was exactly what Ye Qing wanted to say. Ye Qing said, "I don't know if the person you're talking about is Jiang Xinya's grandmother, because I've never met her. But I think it's pretty close. So you should find out how the founder of your company plans to divide his money. If his wife is Jiang Xinya's grandmother, then I think Jiang Xinya coming to Nancheng as editor-in-chief is related to the distribution of assets. You can start from this point."

Having said all that, Dalson knew what to do.

If the person Dalson mentioned is Jiang Xinya's maternal grandmother, then Jiang Xinya's appointment as editor-in-chief here is likely an act of internal strife over property, or perhaps it was intentional on the part of Jiang Xinya's maternal grandmother.

Ye Qing hadn't quite figured out why he deliberately did it, since the truth of the matter was still unclear.

After parting ways with Dalson, Ye Qing went straight home.

As soon as Ye Qing got home, she received a call from Xi Yue. Ye Qing thought something had happened to Li Yeming, so she was a little anxious and asked Xi Yue what was wrong. But Xi Yue said it wasn't about Li Yeming.

"What's wrong with you? Why do you sound so mysterious?" Ye Qing asked, puzzled.

"Who did I see at the hospital?" Xi Yue asked.

Ye Qing paused for a moment, then asked Xi Yue instead of answering her question, "What are you going to the hospital for?"

"I'm sick, so I need to come for regular checkups." Xi Yue can now talk about her condition in a calmer mood.

Hearing Xi Yue say this, Ye Qing was honestly a little relieved by Xi Yue's attitude. Facing her condition, she no longer had the inferiority complex she used to have, and began to accept and try to reconcile with her illness.

"How were the test results?"

Xi Yue was extremely anxious and couldn't help but say to Ye Qing, "It's okay, otherwise why would I call you? I'm not calling you to joke around, I really have something to say."

Ye Qing then belatedly realized that Xi Yue's tone was very serious, so Ye Qing also became much more serious: "What's wrong?"

"I saw Xu Xiaoyue at the hospital. She was wrapped up very tightly. I called her, but she didn't seem to hear me. She was walking in a hurry. Later, I went to the nurses to find out what was going on. Guess what happened?"

Upon hearing that Xu Xiaoyue was being mentioned, Ye Qing immediately became quite nervous: "What did you find out? She just got married yesterday, and she went to the hospital today? Is she pregnant?"

“How could she be pregnant! Even if she were, given her condition, there’s no guarantee she could keep the baby,” Xi Yue said.

Thinking about Huang Fei's words about seeing Liu Yuliang's mother's attitude towards Xu Xiaoyue at the wedding yesterday, Ye Qing felt particularly uneasy. "What's wrong? Don't always make me guess."

“I overheard the nurses talking about how Xu Xiaoyue was treated for external injuries. They know what external injuries are, and apparently those injuries look like she was beaten!” Xi Yue said. “When I heard that, I didn’t bother asking the nurses anymore. I immediately called you. You should ask Xu Xiaoyue what happened.”

Ye Qing's heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was going to jump out of her throat. She was both nervous and angry. "Are you sure you didn't mishear me?"

"How could I talk about something like this? Besides, if Xu Xiaoyue hadn't encountered something she couldn't talk about, why would she come to Anding Hospital? You should know what kind of hospital I went to for my follow-up checkup, right?"

Indeed, Xi Yue was hospitalized at Anding Hospital before. If Xu Xiaoyue was really injured, why didn't she go to a regular hospital? Why did she go to Anding Hospital instead? This is indeed very illogical.
