Ruanruan went to bed late at night, and the next day, she was still asleep when the sun was almost overhead. Grandma Ruan pushed open the door of Ruanruan's bedroom and walked in.
She found that Ruanruan was still sleeping soundly with her eyes closed. She did not wake the child up, but walked around the bed to pull the curtains, and unexpectedly saw several extra boxes beside Ruanruan's bed.
"What is this? Why did Jingye move their crew's things to Ruanruan's room?" Grandma Ruan wondered.
Grandma Ruan opened the box and found it was full of gold ingots with seals engraved on them.
"This thing looks pretty realistic. I don't know what it's made of, so I gave it to Ruanruan to play with."
Grandma Ruan picked one up and weighed it in her hand. It was quite heavy and the color was very similar to the gold-bronze lock she had bought for Ruanruan before.
"This bronze is really lifelike, but you can't give so much to Ruanruan to play with."
It takes up space, and I don't know if it's poisonous or not.
"Oh my, why are there so many stone ornaments? I don't know what they are made of." Grandma Ruan opened another box, which was full of jade products. There were too many of them, so her first reaction was that they were imitations.
I thought to myself, I will ask Jing Ye to move these things back to the crew later.
She turned and walked to the window and opened the curtains.
The dazzling sunlight came in all at once.
Ruanruan narrowed his eyes, wrinkled his little face, turned over in bed, and scratched his little butt.
"Hmm~~Grandma..."
"Ruanruan, it's time to get up. Lunch will be soon. We can go back to sleep after lunch."
Grandma Ruan gently touched the soft little face and lifted the quilt.
Ruanruan lay in bed for a while, then got up and went into the bathroom to wash up.
She was changing her clothes when she suddenly noticed three boxes beside the bed. Her grandmother must have seen them when she came in just now.
"Ruanruan, you have too many of these things. They're a bit of a nuisance in the room. Grandma, please ask your uncle to move them back to the crew. I don't know what they're made of. They might contain ingredients that are harmful to the body."
"No, Ruanruan wants these things. These things are not given by my uncle. They are given to Ruanruan by my little brother. They are not poisonous!"
Ruanruan pouted and grabbed grandma's arm.
Brother Xiaogan couldn't possibly harm her.
Uncle Prince Jin couldn't possibly harm her.
"Xiao Gan gave it to you?" Grandma Ruan then realized that she had misunderstood.
Ruanruan explained, "Yeah, Xiaogan's father knew that my uncle and I donated rice to the disaster area yesterday, so he gave these things to Ruanruan to play with."
"My younger brother's father even gave my younger uncle a set of tea sets."
"Is that so? Okay, grandma will ask someone to help Ruanruan clean up the house and put these things in it." Grandma Ruan was a little confused after hearing what she said and planned to ask her son later.
but!
There shouldn't be any problem with the toys that Zhao Chengqian and his family gave to Ruanruan.
"Thank you, grandma! Long live grandma." Ruanruan happily hugged Grandma Ruan.
"Okay, let's go wake your uncle up."
"OK!"
Uncle Ruan had just woken up and drank the water on the bedside table. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the box and letter on the bedside table, as well as the jade products, and there was some confusion in his eyes.
"Could this... be something someone gave me last night?"
He scratched the back of his head and took a look at the letter. The handwriting was smooth and flowing, and it was obvious that this person was very thoughtful.
It reads: Dear uncle Ruanruan - father of Zhao Chengqian.
"Did that kid's father give this to me?"
He opened the letter, which was written in traditional Chinese characters. He could barely make out the meaning by considering the context.
I am Zhao Qian, the father of Zhao Chengqian. I would like to express my gratitude to my uncle, Ruanruan, for generously donating food to the people. I will never forget the kindness you and Ruanruan have shown me. I have no way to repay you, so I can only offer you these humble gifts. I hope you will accept them and return the favor when you find something better.
The letter written by Xiaogan's father was very formal and basically just thanked him for the donation.
It seems that Zhao Chengqian's family is quite conservative, with a strong historical and cultural atmosphere left by a century-old family.
Uncle Ruan put down the letter and opened the box, which contained a set of tea sets made of fine jade.
No wonder Zhao Chengqian bought an ancient jade. It seems he is just like his father, so generous!
"Uncle, get up, the sun is shining on your butt." Ruanruan ran into her uncle's room and saw her uncle looking at something in a box.
"This is the tea set that Xiaogan's father gave you, and the one next to it is also."
"And that letter."
Uncle Ruan glanced at the bedside table, where there was an exquisite white jade-carved sailboat and a jade pendant carved in the shape of a turtle. Both items looked of average quality and could be considered medium-grade jade.
If it were sold on the market, it would probably cost over 100,000 yuan.
"What did you do yesterday?" asked Grandma Ruan.
Uncle Ruan told Grandma Ruan what happened yesterday in detail. "We just returned the gift. We went to the mall and picked out some things to give to them. The donated items were given voluntarily by us."
"I didn't expect them to be so polite and return the gift."
"Yes, Ruanruan has three big boxes." Grandma Ruan replied.
"Ah? Mom, what did you say?!"
Oh shit!
He...he must have heard it right.
Uncle Ruan opened his eyes wide and asked in surprise, "Three...three big boxes?"
"Yes, uncle, Uncle Jin... Uncle gave us a lot of gifts. If you like them, go to Ruanruan's room and get them."
Ruanruan said excitedly.
"I...I'll go check it out!"
Uncle Ruan swallowed, climbed out of bed, rushed into Ruanruan's room, and saw three large open boxes beside Ruanruan's bed.
