Chapter 65 Charcoal

After Ruanruan finished talking to Xiaogan, she went downstairs to have breakfast. When Ruan Jingye came downstairs, she had just finished breakfast.

"Where's grandma?" Ruan Jingye glanced at Ruanruan who was sitting at the dining table.

Ruanruan held the cup and took a sip of milk, with milky white stains on her lips.

"Grandma said it's busy farming season, a good harvest season, so she won't be home for lunch."

Ruan Jingye sat down and took a bun to eat, then took out his cell phone from his pocket and looked at the message his assistant sent him.

Ruanruan glanced at him, holding the cup, and suddenly remembered what she had discovered in the temple.

She whispered, "Uncle, many people at my brother's place are freezing. They're wearing very thin clothes, and it's snowing heavily in winter, so many people are crammed together that there's not even enough charcoal to burn."

"Ruanruan is living a good life now, but there are still many people suffering in other places, and Ruanruan wants to help them."

"That's easy."

Uncle Ruan said as he read the news.

Last time they were just returning the gift, and the rice was donated voluntarily. But the young man's parents were so generous that they gave him several big boxes of good things.

It made him feel a little embarrassed.

"Uncle, call the crew's logistics department and ask them for the phone number of the charcoal factory owner."

"Clothes are easy to talk about."

He remembered that last winter, when the crew was filming in the north, they left hundreds of military coats in the warehouse, which were almost covered in dust.

Uncle Ruan called his assistant and said, "Have someone deliver two truckloads of charcoal."

Assistant: "Director Ruan, OK, but where should we send the stuff when it arrives?"

He paused for a moment and said, "Give it to my brother. I'll have someone come get it later."

"By the way, are those military coats the crew bought before still available?"

Assistant: “It’s all there.”

"Go find a few more factories that make military coats and ask if they have any ready-made stock. Buy a few thousand."

The assistant was puzzled: "Director Ruan, why do you need so many military coats? Is there any big production coming up soon?"

Ruan Jingye smiled and said, "I'm doing a good deed and donating to the disaster area. Go and do it quickly. Get as many goods as you can and leave them all at my brother's house."

"OK."

The assistant thought of something and said, "Oh, by the way, Director Ruan, I asked, and they said that the surveillance cameras can only be installed in a few days. Everyone in their company's security system is waiting in line to be installed. If I want to find someone to cut in line, I can only wait until the day after tomorrow."

"Yeah, I understand."

After finishing breakfast, Uncle Ruan picked Ruanruan up from the chair and said, "Go out with your uncle today. Your uncle has no work to do recently and is busy soliciting investment sponsorship."

"There's a lunch party at noon, why don't you accompany your uncle to eat there?"

Ruanruan didn't understand what Uncle Ruan was going to do, so she just nodded obediently and said, "Okay."

Shenghua Hotel.

Uncle Ruan carried Ruanruan into the box. Ruanruan was watching cartoons on a tablet.

"Ruanruan, when people come, you can eat next to your uncle. If you don't want to talk, you don't have to talk." Uncle Ruan instructed from the side.

"There might be a little brother about your age later, you can get to know him."

He mainly wanted to see that Ruanruan was alone at home and didn't have any friends, so he brought her here. It was a good opportunity for her to play with the investor's children.

Ruanruan took a piece of the biscuit that was torn off the table, and while eating, she looked up at Uncle Ruan.

"I understand, uncle."

After a while, the door of the box was pushed open from the outside.

A couple walked in with an eight-year-old boy, accompanied by five men. One of them was the assistant director Zhang Hao who introduced the investor to Ruan Jingye, another was the screenwriter of the crew, and the other three were the investor's bodyguards.

"Mr. Xin, this is Director Ruan from our crew." Zhang Hao stepped forward and introduced.

The leader, Mr. Xin, who was about forty years old, looked at Ruan Jingye and said with a smile, "I heard that Director Ruan recently won an award. Congratulations!"

A few people exchanged a few polite words.

"Hello, Mr. Xin. I've heard Zhang Hao talk about you a long time ago." Ruan Jingye invited Mr. Xin and others to sit down, called the waiter to take the order, and the men started chatting again.

Ruanruan sat quietly beside Ruan Jingye, watching cartoons.

"This kid is..."

President Xin noticed Ruan Ruan next to Uncle Ruan and asked.

"This is my little niece, Ruan Ruanruan, and this is Uncle Xin." Ruan Jingye said.

Ruanruan raised her eyes and said politely, "Hello, uncle."

"He looks smaller than my little Yuan. His name is Ruanruan, which sounds very well-behaved. Children don't like to be with adults."

"Ruanruan, go play with your brother." President Xin looked at Ruanruan, then glanced at his son who was clinging to his mother and acting coquettishly and couldn't stay there, and said with a smile.

Ruanruan pursed her lips and looked up at her uncle. Uncle Ruan nodded at her.

She climbed down from the chair, carried the tablet to the sofa next to her and continued watching.

A figure stood in front of her, without even raising his head, continuing to stare at the tablet.

"Shorty!" The person in front of him suddenly spoke jokingly.

Ruanruan frowned and looked up to see a little fat boy standing in front of her. He was wearing a black suit, a red bow tie, small eyes and a big round face.

"Who are you talking about?" she sniffed.

"You little idiot, don't you have a brain? I told you you're short and thick, no wonder you're so short, your brain must be underdeveloped."

The boy crossed his arms, had a frown on his face, and looked very arrogant.

Ruanruan remained calm, stared at him, and put down her tablet.

"Little Fatty, you are so rude! No wonder you are so ugly!"

These words stung the other person.

The little boy opposite said angrily: "Who are you calling ugly? You are ugly, your whole family is ugly."

"Ruanruan is not ugly. Her family members are also very good-looking, and everyone says she is the cutest. Don't be angry, little fatty. My uncle said that ugliness is innate and can't be changed."

"So it's not your problem. You just look like this. You don't need to be sad."

Ruan Ruan scratched his head and explained seriously to others about the issue of ugliness.

The boy got even angrier when he heard him say that. His face turned red with anger. He put his hands on his hips and said, "I don't care. If I say you're ugly, then you're ugly!"

Ruanruan stared at him with a bit of impatience. Is this little fat boy not very smart?

She didn't want to pay any attention to him anymore.

"Say whatever you want. Ruanruan wants to watch cartoons."

She turned around, facing away from the fat boy, and opened her tablet.

The boy felt that Ruanruan was ignoring him, and he was furious. He pressed down Ruanruan's tablet and said in a domineering tone, "Don't look at it!"

"Let go, it's something soft."

Ruanruan pulled out the tablet that was pressing on the sofa with force. Her small body hit the back of the sofa due to inertia, and the necklace hanging on her neck was exposed outside her clothes.

A big ring, and a soft little hand holding the ring.

"What is that? Let me see."

The boy was curious when he saw how much Ruanruan treasured the thing in his hand.
