Chapter 94 Sent Down to the Cadre School

Yang Jianye was taken away by the special investigation team and placed in isolation for investigation.

The results of the review have not yet been released to the public.

But everyone said that he would never come back.

The days when the Yang family held absolute power will never return.

After hearing Shen Ningning recount what had happened, Shiyue was completely relieved.

She knew that everything was going according to the plan she and He Lixuan had made, and there had been no mistakes.

This completely dispelled any unease she had been harboring.

After exchanging a few more words with Ningning, Shiyue prepared to keep her achievements hidden and bid her farewell.

Unexpectedly, Shen Ningning hesitated for a moment and said, "Shiyue, wait a moment, I have something to tell you."

"What's wrong?" Shiyue stopped what she was doing, looking a little puzzled.

Shen Ningning didn't speak immediately, but put down the phone and left for a moment.

You could tell she had closed the office door.

Then she said, "Shiyue, find an opportunity to talk to He Zhiqing and ask him to inquire about the situation in his hometown. Our university has already organized the teachers to move; they say they will all be moving to the cadre school for labor and study."

It was said that the principal would personally lead the team, which would go in three groups. But all teachers were required to go.

I'm thinking that He Zhiqing's parents are also university professors, so you should have him call home. What if his parents have something important to tell him? A phone call is always more convenient than a letter.”

Upon hearing this, Shiyue's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately thought of the books she kept in her little room.

I was reminded of "Six Chapters from My Life in the Cadre School".

A voice started echoing in my head: "It's here, it's finally here."

Shen Ningning had no idea what she was thinking and was still sighing, "My dad has actually turned misfortune into blessing. Now that he's been transferred away from the university, he doesn't have to suffer like that and go to the labor camp."

I can't even imagine how his body can withstand such an ordeal.

Because long-distance calls were too expensive, Shen Ningning didn't dwell on it any longer and hung up the phone quickly after finishing her story.

But Shiyue's initial joy had vanished.

She came out of the phone booth, and He Lixuan was waiting at the door.

Seeing her like this, I couldn't help but feel a little strange and asked, "What's wrong? Did something happen to Uncle Shen's family?"

Otherwise, why would you have that expression?

Shiyue shook her head and told him what Shen Ningning had said.

Then she nudged him and said, "You should call your dad right away and ask what's going on at home."

Don't panic when something happens. Let's work together to figure it out; there's always a solution.

He Lixuan's expression also became serious because of these words.

He didn't say anything, and walked past Shiyue into the telephone booth.

Making long-distance calls takes place in a tiny room, just big enough for one person to stand in; it's difficult for a second person to get in.

Shiyue could only lean against the wall, just like He Lixuan had done earlier, and patiently wait outside.

I wonder if it's because I have something on my mind that my patience gets worse.

Shiyue felt like she had been waiting for a very, very long time, but He Lixuan still hadn't come out.

She was about to push open the door and go in to check on him when He Lixuan opened the door, poked his head out, and instructed her, "Go and deposit another ten yuan for me."

His tone was low, and the oppressive atmosphere emanating from him made Shiyue not dare to ask a single more question.

Shiyue obediently ran to pay the deposit.

When I handed over the money, I realized that the person hadn't even given me any money back!

It wasn't that she resented He Lixuan for not giving her money.

The main reason is that he is a very meticulous person. He knows he doesn't have much money, and he would never do something to put her in a difficult position under normal circumstances.

At that moment, he even forgot to pay, which is enough to prove how confused and uneasy he was.

After paying, Shiyue went to wait obediently outside the telephone booth.

This time, the wait was even longer than last time.

It was quite a while before He Lixuan finally came out, and then we saw that his face was deathly pale.

Seeing his expression, Shiyue didn't dare to ask any more questions.

It was He Lixuan who spoke first.

He said, "My parents were indeed sent down to a cadre school. My mother wasn't supposed to go with my father, but she didn't want to be separated from him, so she went with him."

They've been gone for almost two weeks.

I did the math in October, and it's been two weeks.

They left during the few days of the Lunar New Year.

This also explains why He Lixuan's parents were so determined not to let him spend the Chinese New Year at home, and instead sent him and Yu Chuxia to the countryside before the New Year.

If He Lixuan were still in university, there would be only two possible outcomes for him.

One option was to go to the countryside as an educated youth, just like now, but back then, He's parents didn't have the means to choose a place for him.

Another option is to stay in the city and become unemployed.

However, He Lixuan's temperament interrupted his studies, which he was originally studying diligently, and forced him to stay at home.

In his anger, and with no one to control him, who knows what he might do?

It's unlikely that He's parents would feel at ease with either outcome.

So while they still had the ability, they chose to send their son to a place with relatively good conditions in all aspects, or at least a safe place.

Poor parents in the world!

Shiyue sighed inwardly.

"Do you know where the cadre school is?" Shiyue asked.

He Lixuan nodded.

Shiyue patted his arm and comforted him, "Don't worry too much. Since it's based on the school, it at least means that everyone is together."
