"Meow~"
Little Flower walked to a corner where there were no quails and lay down.
It glanced at Lu Fangfang and let out another pitiful cry.
"Ha ha……"
Seeing Xiaohua's aggrieved look, Lu Fangfang couldn't help but laugh.
She reached out and took a strip of rabbit meat, walked over to Little Flower, and fed it to her.
"Alright, alright, my little flower is the most obedient."
Xiaohua felt a little better after eating the meat strips.
Lu Fangfang smiled and rubbed its head before turning around and going back to building the earthen wall.
After working for a while, she used all the adobe bricks she had made at home to build two narrow mud walls.
When the time comes, cut some tree branches and build a shed on top, and her little shed will be complete.
There was still some yellow mud left in the center of the yard. Lu Fangfang mixed in some dry mud and then started kneading the mud with her hands.
She kneaded it like dough, shaping it into the form of an earthen stove.
She wiped the surface of her wet hands and then set them aside to air dry.
She washed her hands and went outside to take a look.
It was getting late, and Zhuang's mother hadn't returned yet; no one knew where she had gone.
Lu Fangfang stood at the gate of the courtyard. She didn't see Zhuang's mother, but she did see Yang Yufeng's eldest daughter, who was sitting at her own door playing by herself.
"Hey girl, where's your mom?"
Da Niu turned her head and casually said, "My mom went to Aunt Zhu's house to help her with chores."
As she spoke, she raised her sleeve, wiped her nose, then took out a cordyceps and started gnawing on it.
Lu Fangfang's eyelids twitched.
This little girl is too fierce! Who eats cordyceps raw?
“Girl, this is for making tea, not for eating.”
I'm hungry.
As she spoke, Da Niu took out another one and ate it in a few bites.
Lu Fangfang: "..."
She turned and hurried back into the house, broke off half a multigrain bun from the cupboard, and then went to the gate of the yard.
She squatted down, sighed, and handed the steamed bun to the little girl. "Here, eat this. When your mother comes back, talk to her and ask her to save some food for you so you won't go hungry."
The girl didn't stand on ceremony and started eating it right away.
The steamed bun was dry and a bit hard, but she didn't mind and ate it bite by bite.
She took out the remaining cordyceps from her pocket and handed it to Lu Fangfang, saying, "I'm not eating any more, you can have it."
Lu Fangfang glanced at the girl and saw that she was holding four or five cordyceps. She shook her head and said, "I don't want these. You keep them."
"By the way, big girl, where did you get that cordyceps in your hand?"
“I took it from my mom’s bag, and my mom took it from my Aunt Zhu’s house.”
Lu Fangfang: "..."
She felt like she stole it, cough cough, she took it by stealing.
It's truly... truly... a loving mother and filial son.
"Hey girl, you'd better put this away quickly, don't tell anyone else about it."
"I know."
The girl understood perfectly well and put the cordyceps back into her pocket.
Lu Fangfang shook her head, turned around and went back.
She didn't know what to say about this family. It was also Yang Yufeng's husband's fault; he didn't care even though things were like this. Sigh!
It's quite unusual that Da Niu brought so many cordyceps.
If a young girl only has this much, Yang Yufeng must have taken even more. As for Zhu Haiming, she's the source.
After a moment's thought, she could only come up with one possibility: Zhu Haiming must have received it from someone else.
"Zhu Haiming really has a good business mind, but since she's already here, why does she still need to make so much money?"
Lu Fangfang really couldn't understand it. If she were Zhu Haiming, she would have wanted to throw away all the money in the house and pretend to be poor.
Once in the yard, she untied the naked rabbit, took it inside, and chopped it up.
It was getting hot, and the food wouldn't keep for long anyway, so she just stewed it all in one pot.
There were some green radishes in the sack, so she washed them and cut two off.
She shredded the remaining radish heads, mixed them with cornmeal and beef bone powder, and put them in a small bamboo cage.
"Chirp, chirp, chirp..."
Lu Fangfang stood at the gate of the courtyard and called out a few times, and all the little quails outside ran over.
After they entered the cage one by one, Lu Fangfang counted them and found that none were missing.
It's getting cool at night now, and the quails are too small to be released outside.
She picked up the bamboo cage and placed it against the south wall of the house.
After thinking for a moment, she moved closer to the double wooden bed, intending to let Zhuang's mother experience more of the atmosphere of daily life.
"Meow~"
Xiao Hua came in at that moment.
Lu Fangfang turned around and looked at it, then frowned.
This little one spends the morning crawling through holes and the afternoon rolling around in the dirt. Plus, with all that grass juice she smears on her, her body is a complete mess.
No, it's too dirty.
Lu Fangfang added some warm water, picked up the little flower, and threw it into the basin.
"Meow~"
Little Flower flailed and screamed as she tried to run away.
"Okay, okay, I'm just giving you a bath, not trying to hurt you."
Lu Fangfang quickly pressed it down and then rubbed it.
Meow~
Finding no danger, Xiaohua squinted her eyes and began to enjoy herself.
She lathered Xiaohua with soap once and washed her twice more. Only when there was no more dirt left to wash off Xiaohua did she take a cloth and wipe her down.
Just then, she heard a noise coming from the courtyard.
When she got to the door, she saw that it was Mrs. Zhuang who had returned. Lu Fangfang was slightly relieved. The old lady had gone out in the morning and didn't come back until dark. She was really a worry.
