"Commander, there are bear footprints here. That brown bear was here."
"Commander, I have some too."
Zhuang Mingcheng jumped off his horse and walked over quickly.
Looking at the large craters on the ground, his eyelids twitched involuntarily. This wild bear was incredibly strong; what if it had hit a person...?
"Commander, there are also groundhogs in this hole."
"Groundhog?"
Zhuang Mingcheng walked over out of curiosity.
Inside a half-dug burrow, a chubby groundhog shivers.
Half of it was lying on the ground nearby.
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox's eyes lit up, and just as it was about to rush over, Zhuang Mingcheng picked it up in one swift motion.
"You can't eat this."
He took out some dried fish from his pocket and fed it to the little Tibetan fox.
This little guy has a really good nose; we brought them to the right place.
He looked around and then had his soldiers cover the half-eaten groundhog with soil.
"It seems that these groundhogs first had their home dug up by the bear, and then the wolf came and got the benefits."
Zhuang Mingcheng couldn't help but shake his head; these groundhogs were truly pitiful.
Seeing that the little Tibetan fox had almost finished eating, he put the little guy down and let it sniff around again.
"Slap, slap, slap."
At that moment, several gunshots rang out in the distance.
The little Tibetan fox shuddered, looked back at the group, then at Zhuang Mingcheng, and immediately lost its fear.
"Awoo~"
It led the group eastward.
"Boom!"
Xu Jinbu led two platoons of men back on horseback.
Several of the horses carried the carcasses of wolves, and the stench of blood from the wolves made the warhorses in the regiment somewhat uneasy.
Zhuang Mingcheng waved his hand, signaling someone to take the wolf's carcass back to the regiment first.
Looking at Little Flower and Little Tibetan Fox in front of him, he figured he should recommend the two little guys for credit. Of the five wolves, one of them should be rewarded.
"Commander, the bear's footprints don't seem to be going in this direction."
Zhuang Mingcheng looked down and saw that the bear's footprints were indeed heading northeast, not east.
After hesitating for a moment, he decided to trust the little Tibetan fox.
"Xu Jinbu, you lead a platoon and search in the direction of the bear's footprints. The rest of you follow me."
"yes."
Immediately, the cavalry company split into two groups, one heading northeast and the other heading straight east.
After a while, Zhuang Mingcheng looked at the surrounding scenery and couldn't help but frown.
How come we're getting more and more familiar with each other?
Huh? Isn't this the location of the Tibetan fox den? He and his wife rescued the baby Tibetan fox nearby.
Zhuang Mingcheng looked at the little guy who was leading the way with suspicion.
"Awoo~"
Ahead, the little Tibetan fox's speed increased slightly.
Soon, it stopped at the entrance of a dark hole.
The little Tibetan fox was very pleased with itself.
Looking back, it barked defiantly at the dark cave entrance.
"Awoo~"
"Awoo~"
Zhuang Mingcheng looked at this scene with a dark expression.
He dismounted, walked slowly over, raised his arm, and slapped the little Tibetan fox.
"Smack."
"You heartless bastard! What are you doing?"
Zhuang Mingcheng had heard his wife mention the Tibetan fox before; it seemed to have found a mate.
Judging from the little Tibetan fox's appearance, its stepfather must be in the den right now.
"Stop fooling around, let's go find the bear!"
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox tucked its tail between its legs and walked away unwillingly.
Zhuang Mingcheng shook his head helplessly and decided to trust the little Tibetan fox one more time.
Mounting his warhorse, he led the group northward.
...
After a long while, a large yellow head slowly emerged from the cave entrance.
It looked around and, seeing that no one was nearby, called out into the cave.
A pregnant Tibetan fox slowly crawled out, looked north, and showed no expression on its face.
"Aww, aww~"
The two Tibetan foxes comforted each other for a while, then headed towards Tuboling.
They couldn't stay in this place any longer, so they decided to move to a new home.
They can't dig burrows, so the groundhogs will have to do the work.
...
"Awoo~"
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox led the group north for more than ten minutes until they reached some large rocks. Then it started howling wildly at the base of the rocks.
"Heh...heh..."
Under the large rock, a domineering cat face slowly emerged.
There were also five chubby little guys around.
Upon seeing this, the little Tibetan fox was so frightened that it took a small step back.
Looking back at the cavalry, it seemed to gain courage and immediately barked even more arrogantly at its enemy.
"Awoo~"
Zhuang Mingcheng: "..."
Seeing this, he was truly at a loss for words, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
He recognized the Pallas's rabbit under the rock; it was the same one that had bitten the little Tibetan fox's leg before.
This troublesome little Tibetan fox seems to have brought them here on purpose, hoping to get revenge for the kick he gave them back then.
"Heh~"
The Pallas's cat didn't care who the enemy was; with five cubs, it was instantly enraged.
Pallas's cat and its five cubs
It leaped up and ran towards the little Tibetan fox.
"Aww~"
The little Tibetan fox was startled and turned to run away.
The Pallas's cat chased after them, and when it reached the group of warhorses, it stopped abruptly.
As if it had sensed something was wrong, it turned around and ran back to the big rock at lightning speed.
"Awoo~"
"Awoo~"
The little Tibetan fox hiding behind Zhuang Mingcheng immediately became smug again.
