"Is this where my sister is?"
Inside the sleeper car of the train, Lu Xiuxiu leaned against the window, looking out curiously.
Since leaving home, whenever she wakes up, she sits by the car window and looks at the scenery outside.
The landscape of each province was different from that of her hometown, which surprised her greatly.
"Xiuxiu? Xiuxiu?"
Zhang Honghua, carrying her luggage, walked over quickly.
Her face was a little pale. When she saw Lu Xiuxiu sitting by the car window, she forced a smile and walked over.
After sitting in a hard seat for four and a half days, she was in pain all over, her buttocks were raw, and she felt like she was about to die. But thankfully, she was finally about to arrive at her destination.
"Xiuxiu, why aren't you saying anything? I'm calling you. We're almost at Zhangye Station. Fangfang will come to pick us up, right?"
Lu Xiuxiu glanced at her, then turned her head away.
"Xiuxiu? Xiuxiu, say something! This is no joke. If your sister doesn't come to pick us up, we'll have to go find her. We don't know anyone here, so we'll have to ask for directions."
Zhang Honghua explained patiently.
She suddenly felt a pang of regret. She had come all this way, and if she couldn't find a good match, she would have lost out big time.
"Aren't you annoying? My sister came to pick me up, not you."
Lu Xiuxiu rolled her eyes.
She touched the cloth bag inside her clothes and then turned around to go back to the bed to pack her things.
She slept on her bunk for the past four and a half days, so she wasn't too uncomfortable.
Zhang Honghua watched, a hint of jealousy flashing across her face.
These days, she often comes over, wanting to borrow the little girl's bed to lie down and rest for a while.
But that brat, as soon as she saw her coming, she lay down, not letting her take any advantage, making her stand and sit for four and a half days. She's so heartless.
"Xiuxiu, hurry up, we're almost at the station."
"Okay, okay, can you please shut up? You're more annoying than my mother."
"Ooh~"
"Ooh~"
The train sounded its whistle a few times, then slowly came to a stop.
Lu Xiuxiu carried an old cloth bag and walked quickly outside.
Zhang Honghua's eyes were bloodshot as she followed closely behind her.
...
There weren't many people taking the train back then, and Zhangye Station was a small station with only about twenty people getting off the train.
Outside the platform, Lu Fangfang seemed to sense something and spotted her younger sister at a glance.
Seeing that Xiuxiu had arrived safely, she breathed a sigh of relief. She waved and called out happily, "Xiuxiu? Xiuxiu? Here she is."
"elder sister!"
Xiuxiu wiped away her tears and ran over quickly.
When she reached Lu Fangfang, she threw herself into her sister's arms. "Waaah, sister, I missed you so much. I dreamed about you even when I was at home. Waaah, sister, I'm so glad to see you again."
"Oh, Xiuxiu, I miss you too. Okay, okay, don't cry."
Lu Fangfang hugged Xiuxiu and patted her back, feeling bad herself.
...
Zhang Honghua, carrying her luggage, glanced at the strange woman holding Xiuxiu, and was then drawn to the man beside her.
He was 1.8 meters tall, with a slender and upright figure, a high nose bridge, and, most importantly, he was wearing a handsome cadre military uniform.
Swallowing hard, Zhang Honghua wiped her hands on her clothes and strode over.
When she reached the man, she smiled and extended her hand, "Brother-in-law, hello, I am Fangfang's sister, my name is Zhang Honghua."
"safflower?"
Zhuang Mingcheng was somewhat taken aback. He frowned and looked at the woman in front of him with a puzzled expression, without making any move to shake hands.
Lu Fangfang, standing nearby, was also taken aback when she heard the name.
She turned her head and looked at the woman named Honghua, and her dislike for her grew even stronger.
"Zhang Honghua? You're my second sister-in-law's younger sister, Zhang Honghua?"
Zhang Honghua withdrew her hand somewhat awkwardly, then quickly nodded, "Yes, yes, it's me, Sister Fangfang. Uncle asked me to come and take care of you."
She looked up at Lu Fangfang, still feeling a little uneasy.
"Did my dad send you?"
Lu Fangfang was very puzzled. Her father had clearly written in the letter that he had refused the red flower, so why did he let this person come again?
She looked down at Xiuxiu in her arms.
You're lying!
"Sister, she's lying. Dad never said anything about it. She didn't come with me either. I met her after I got on the train. Sister, she must have sneaked here."
"No, no, Sister Fangfang, don't listen to Xiuxiu's nonsense. It really was Uncle who sent me. If you don't believe me, write a letter back and ask Uncle."
Zhang Honghua panicked and quickly took two steps forward, looking pitifully at Lu Fangfang.
"Comrade Zhang... Zhang Honghua, what can I say to you? You came here secretly, how worried must your family be? No, I have to send you back right away, otherwise your family will be frantic with worry."
"No, no, Sister Fangfang, I didn't sneak away, Sister Fangfang, please listen to me..."
Lu Fangfang waved her hand, her face expressionless, but inwardly she snorted coldly.
If she doesn't trust her own sister, how could she possibly trust a stranger?
Writing letters was even more absurd; it would take at least a month and a half to send a letter from the far northwest of the country to her hometown, and she didn't want to delay.
She really didn't expect that Zhang Honghua would secretly follow Xiuxiu to take care of her. She was really "touched".
Zhang Honghua's face turned pale, and she immediately grabbed Lu Fangfang's arm.
"Sister Fangfang, I've come all this way through so much trouble. I'm not going back. I'm not going back. I'd rather die than go back."
"Get up, my sister is pregnant, don't hug her."
Xiuxiu pried her hands off and shielded her sister behind her.
Seeing Zhang Honghua's shameless behavior, Lu Fangfang felt disgusted. She turned to look at her husband and then gave him a subtle nod.
"Um?"
Zhuang Mingcheng was taken aback, then realized what was happening. He turned around and quickly walked into the train station.
"Waaah, I'm not going back, Sister Fangfang. Please let me take care of you. I'm a quick worker. I finally made it here, I'd rather die than go back."
Seeing this, Zhang Honghua cried even louder.
Everyone else on the platform looked over curiously.
Even the train police on the platform noticed Zhang Honghua crying. If it weren't for Lu Fangfang wearing a military overcoat and cap, he might have come over.
Lu Fangfang frowned, looking very impatient.
Once Mingcheng bought the train tickets, she had to get this troublesome person onto the train immediately.
