Chapter 406 Xiuxiu Arrives Home

"Sister, I miss you so much. I'm so afraid I'll never see you again in this lifetime."

Xiuxiu closed her eyes and hugged her sister.

Just like she said, when she was back in her hometown, she was really afraid that she would never see her sister again in her life.

The Qilian Mountains are too far away; so far that even a letter sent there would take a month to arrive.

"Don't talk nonsense, you've seen me again, haven't you..."

Lu Fangfang felt a lump in her throat as she suddenly thought of the original owner of this body.

"Sis? Why are you crying?"

Xiuxiu was a little flustered.

Seeing her sister crying, she quickly took out a handkerchief and wiped her tears, saying, "Sister, I was wrong, I was wrong, please don't cry."

"You silly girl, what did you do wrong? I was just so happy to see you."

Lu Fangfang took the handkerchief, wiped her face, and then pulled Xiuxiu into her arms.

She sighed inwardly, still feeling a little uneasy.

"Sister, are you really going to keep Zhang Honghua? She came with me secretly, she... she's not a good person."

Xiuxiu didn't know how to put it, but she just felt that the red flower was bad.

Thinking of her second sister-in-law at home, she started talking to her sister again.

When she went on the blind date, she accompanied her second brother. She felt that Zhang Hongmei was not a good person, but she didn't have the final say in family matters.

As if to relieve himself of a burden, Zhang Hongmei's parents urged his second brother to marry her as soon as she agreed, regardless of whether he liked her or not.

She was terrified of this way of living together; she was afraid that in a few years, her parents would marry her off to a stranger in the same way.

"You silly child."

Lu Fangfang stroked Xiuxiu's head and sighed again as she listened.

Most couples in this era are like this; it's considered good if they can meet once before getting married, and there are many cases of blind marriages and silent weddings.

In an era when even food was scarce, everything else was a luxury.

"Don't worry, I won't keep Zhang Honghua. I'll have someone send her back the day after tomorrow."

"real?"

Xiuxiu was overjoyed and quickly looked up at her sister.

"Of course it's true. Only Xiuxiu can eat the food from my sister's family. No one else has the chance to enjoy it."

Lu Fangfang smiled and nodded, then hugged Xiuxiu in her arms again.

She turned her head to look outside and saw Zhuang Mingcheng open the car door and get in. She quickly asked, "Have you given all the instructions?"

"Yes, we deliver meals to her three times a day and don't let her go out."

"That's good. She's been on the train for several days, she should get some rest, otherwise she'll suffer on the way back."

Lu Fangfang almost laughed. Zhang Honghua had wasted her time and deserved to suffer.

In those days, trains were slow and had long stops along the way. It would take several days to get to Linshui by hard seat, and the journey was quite uncomfortable.

However, the thought of having to pay for her own train ticket made her feel bad again. In the end, she was the one who suffered a loss. If she wasn't worried about the negative impact, she would have liked to leave the person in the city.

"Mingcheng, it's getting late, let's hurry back."

Zhuang Mingcheng drove his jeep back to the family compound from the regiment.

When he arrived at his doorstep, he got out of the car, opened the gate, and started carrying his things inside.

"Xiuxiu, come down, this is our home."

Lu Fangfang waved to her younger sister and led her into the courtyard.

"Meow~"

"Awoo~"

"Oh...ah..."

As soon as the two entered the courtyard, the cries of the little ones rang out.

Having been locked up for a day, they all ran towards Lu Fangfang.

"Is this Little Flower? Little Yellow Dog? And Little Stubborn Donkey?"

Xiuxiu looked at them curiously.

She had seen photos of the little creatures in the letters her sister sent, and she even knew their names.

"Yes, this snow leopard is Little Flower."

Lu Fangfang stroked Xiaohua's head and introduced her to Xiuxiu.

"This short-legged yellow Tibetan fox is actually the little yellow dog."

"Awoo~"

The little Tibetan fox let out a displeased cry.

"Ahem, this silly-looking guy is Little Stubborn Donkey."

Lu Fangfang smiled and patted the donkey's head again.

The three little ones lined up in a row, looking at Xiuxiu with curiosity.

"Little Flower, Little Yellow Dog, Little Stubborn Donkey, this is Xiuxiu, your aunt. You mustn't bully her."

"Sis, can I touch them?"

Xiuxiu was very excited; she had been longing to see her sister's animals back in her hometown.

"Go ahead and touch them, it's okay, they don't bite."

Seeing her sister nod, Xiuxiu quickly stepped forward and carefully touched the little flower.

"Meow~"

Little Flower showed great respect to this aunt, and it nudged Xiuxiu's hand.

Xiuxiu was immediately charmed by it.

She crouched down, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the little flower, and hugged it tightly.

"Awoo~"

The little Tibetan fox also stepped forward and nestled into her arms.

Seeing this, the little wild donkey couldn't resist any longer. It lowered its head and moved closer to Xiuxiu.

However, their little eyes kept staring at Xiuxiu's pocket, as if they were looking for something good to eat.

"Fangfang, I'm going to drive the car back to the regiment. I'll be right back. You and Xiuxiu shouldn't stay outside any longer. Come inside and warm up."

"Okay, go ahead."

Lu Fangfang nodded, and called Xiuxiu into the house.

Picking up the thermos, she first poured some hot water for Xiuxiu, then said, "Xiuxiu, you've been on the train for so long, go wash your face first, I'll cook dinner later."

Xiuxiu touched the little flower and the little Tibetan fox, reluctant to get up.

After a while, she reluctantly let go of his hand.

"Sis, how did you adopt them?"
