Chapter 422 The Confused Little Guys

"Girl, don't be reckless. If the snow had hit you, you would have been seriously injured."

"Sister Shufen, I didn't expect it to be so powerful."

Lu Fangfang patted her chest, still feeling a bit shaken.

Luckily it was knocked down, otherwise it might have fallen and hit someone.

Several people took shovels, swept away the fallen snow, and dug the door back out from under the cover.

When it was time to work on the roof of the south shed, the group stopped Lu Fangfang from doing it and Zhao Lanying carefully poked at it with a bamboo pole.

"Boom!"

"Boom!"

Another roar followed, and the snow on the south side of the roof fell down as well.

The group picked up shovels and started shoveling again.

After working for a while, everyone finally cleaned up the farm.

Lu Fangfang wiped the sweat from her forehead and went to the gate of the courtyard to take a look.

On the main road to the north, a large group of soldiers were still shoveling snow, seemingly trying to clear a path out of the area.

Turning my head to look south, the grassland was a vast expanse of white, with no trace of wild grass in sight.

Her little ones were also standing at the crossroads, looking out over the meadow.

The little wild donkey stared blankly at the grassland.

Beside it, Little Flower and the little Tibetan fox had the same expression. The vast white grassland was truly breathtaking.

How are we supposed to hunt like this?

What are you thinking?

Lu Fangfang walked over curiously.

She patted the donkey's head, and saw the little wild donkey looking at her with a completely bewildered expression.

Hmm...

Lu Fangfang hesitated for a moment, then pointed to the grassland and said, "Go and try it, see if you can still eat grass."

The little wild donkey looked at her suspiciously.

After hesitating for a moment, it took a step and walked towards the grassland.

Lu Fangfang followed curiously, wanting to see if the little wild donkey could still graze on such thick snow.

"Meow~"

"Awoo~"

As she walked away, Little Flower and the Tibetan Fox followed her.

The little Tibetan fox was the lightest of them all; it walked on the snow without sinking in, making it very easy for it.

Lu Fangfang was in no condition; she stepped into the snow, which was knee-deep in some places, making it very difficult for her to walk.

Looking around, her joy at the snow diminished somewhat. With such a thick blanket of snow covering the grasslands, she wondered how many animals would die, and how the herders would likely face hardship.

"Oh...ah..."

The little wild donkey had reached the familiar pasture, and it turned back and brayed at Lu Fangfang.

The snow-covered grassland offered no foothold for it.

"You just use your head to pry open the snow, and that's how you get to eat it!"

Lu Fangfang bent down and dug through the snow with both hands. It took her a while to finally see the withered grass at the bottom.

With so much snowmelt in winter, the pasture should grow very well next year, it's just that this winter will be a bit tough.

Beside him, the little wild donkey watched, as if it understood.

It lowered its head and dug into the snow with all its might, and after some effort, it dug out a dent.

Seeing the withered yellow grass under the snow, it quickly took a bite.

Hmm...

The wild grass mixed with snowmelt made it grimac, but it couldn't bear to part with this meal.

It lowered its head and took a few more bites until it had finished eating, then it reluctantly walked over to Lu Fangfang.

"Sigh, if even you, a greedy donkey, are like this, the other animals must be having a hard time finding food."

Lu Fangfang patted its head and sighed.

With such thick snow, even pikas are probably having a hard time. Without these small food sources on the plateau, Tibetan foxes, Pallas's rabbits, and many other carnivores will also have a tough time. This is truly a major snow disaster.

"Awoo~"

The little Tibetan fox ran two steps forward, staring intently into the distance.

Lu Fangfang followed its gaze and saw a little weasel carrying a pika on its back, walking towards them from the snow.

The heavy snowfall seemed to have no effect on it whatsoever.

"Squeak~"

Upon seeing the Tibetan fox, it was somewhat afraid and quickly went around it.

The little wild donkey's eyes lit up when it saw the pika in its mouth, and it immediately chased after it.

Upon approaching, it stretched out its donkey-like face ingratiatingly and moved closer to the little weasel.

"Squeak~"

The little weasel stood up straight, let out a threatening growl, and then, carrying the pika in its mouth, quickly disappeared into its burrow.

"Oh...ah..."

The little wild donkey stared in disbelief, never expecting the little weasel to treat him like this.

It spat several times at the cave entrance before reluctantly returning.

Upon approaching, the dog, in a bad mood, stretched its head and burrowed under Lu Fangfang's arm, seeking her comfort.

“You silly donkey, hunting is not easy these days. Who will have prey to feed you? Don’t worry, we still have corn stalks and hay at home. You won’t go hungry.”

Lu Fangfang rubbed its head and laughed uncontrollably.

But the little weasel is really amazing; it can hunt in such thick snow.

Pika burrows under the snow are not easy to find.

Turning to look at Xiaohua and the little Tibetan fox, she asked curiously, "Xiaohua, little yellow dog, can you two still catch prey?"

"Meow~"

Little Flower looked up and cried out, then tried to take a few steps forward.

"Puff, puff, puff..."

Lu Fangfang looked at it and shook her head helplessly.

Little Flower was too heavy, and its thick claws sank directly into the snow. In this environment, it probably couldn't even run.

Perhaps things will be better in a few days when the snow on the grassland freezes.

However, we can't blame Xiaohua. Snow leopards hunt on exposed rocks, and snow isn't really their forte.

"Little yellow dog, you try."
