Chapter 438 Liu Wenhui Arrives

"They came really fast."

When Lu Fangfang saw Liu Wenhui arrive, she quickly put down the sack she was carrying.

She rubbed her hands in the snow, wiped them clean with a handkerchief, and then quickly stepped forward to meet them.

"Comrade Wenhui, it's great to see you again."

"Comrade Lu, it's been a few months, how come your belly is so big? How many months pregnant are you?"

Liu Wenhui was dressed the same as before, in a military uniform, with a camera hanging around her neck and a small notebook in her hand.

She was somewhat surprised to see Lu Fangfang's appearance.

"It's been almost five months."

"That's great, Fangfang, congratulations!"

Liu Wenhui held Lu Fangfang's hand, happy for her.

Suddenly remembering something, she reached into her pocket and pulled out three small books, each about the size of her palm. "Fangfang, look what these are?"

"My comic book has actually been printed?"

Lu Fangfang was delighted and quickly took it in her hands to read it.

Little picture book, little picture book, the most prominent feature is the small character.

The palm-sized cover features images of Pallas's cats, snow leopards, Tibetan foxes, Tibetan wild asses, and pikas, with five ordinary words above: "The Story of the Pallas's Cat."

The cover is in color, and the animals are printed so lifelike, especially her little wild donkey, which looks incredibly handsome.

The book is a black and white comic strip, and all the printed copies are her previous drawings.

Turning to the last page of the comic book, she glanced at the illustrator and editor, and her name was written on them all.

"Wenhui, thank you, thank you so much."

Lu Fangfang looked at her own comic book and felt a little excited.

"Don't thank me. The publisher was originally going to send it to you, but my mom told me to bring it over when I said I was coming."

Liu Wenhui smiled and continued, "My mom told me to tell you that the comic books will be available in the provincial capital this month. Congratulations, Fangfang."

Upon hearing this, Lu Fangfang suddenly felt uneasy.

She was also a little worried that her illustrated books wouldn't sell well, fearing that children wouldn't like them.

Across the river, Liu Wenhui wasn't in a hurry to go to the breeding farm. She looked towards the riverbank and immediately spotted Xiaohua and the little Tibetan fox.

"Little Flower and Little Tibetan Fox are here too."

Knowing that Liu Wenhui liked small animals, Lu Fangfang took her over.

Lu Fangfang waved to the little stubborn donkey, and then called the little stubborn donkey over.

"Little Flower, do you still remember me?"

Liu Wenhui squatted down and gently patted Xiaohua's head.

"Meow~"

Little Flower was only focused on licking the little fish and wasn't very enthusiastic towards her.

Liu Wenhui didn't mind. She petted the little Tibetan fox and the little wild donkey again, and then looked into the river.

"Fangfang, what are you doing?"

"My sister found fish frozen under the ice, and she's breaking through the ice to collect them."

The two stood on the shore talking.

Xiuxiu made a new discovery in the ice cave in the river.

She used a pickaxe to lift a large block of ice, revealing a large pit underneath. Inside, there was still unfrozen water, and many small fish and shrimp were swimming around in the pit.

Xiuxiu touched the ice layer that was more than a meter thick, then looked at the bottom of the pit, still somewhat shocked.

"Sister, sister, come quick! There are fish, there are live fish!"

On the shore, Lu Fangfang beckoned to Liu Wenhui and curiously walked to the ice cave.

She looked into the pit and saw that it was teeming with fish and shrimp; there were more fish than water in the pit.

Under these conditions, the fish and shrimp can still survive; their vitality is truly tenacious.

"Xiuxiu, pick some of the bigger ones, we'll have a taste for lunch today."

"Don't move yet, let me take a picture of you."

Liu Wenhui was amazed when she saw this scene for the first time. She quickly raised the camera around her neck and pressed the shutter button.

After taking the photos, she was overjoyed and, holding onto the ice, went down to pick them up with the others.

There wasn't much water in the pit, and the group enjoyed collecting the fish. Soon, their enamel basin was full.

"Sister, there's too much. Give me the sack."

Xiuxiu wiped her forehead with her sleeve; she had been busy for a while and her forehead was sweating.

Lu Fangfang carefully returned to the shore, picked up the sack, and handed it into the pit.

She was standing on the ice, looking around, when she felt something brush against her arm. Turning her head, she saw it was her family's big, greedy donkey.

“You’ve eaten enough. If you eat any more, you’ll definitely get an upset stomach. I’ll give you the dried fish later.”

Lu Fangfang pushed the donkey's head away, this time not indulging it anymore.

The little wild donkey snorted, tilted its head, and moved closer to Lu Fangfang.

"Squeak~"

On the little wild donkey's head, a yellow figure stood upright, looking at her longingly.

"Hey? Little Yellow? What happened? You're hanging out with that wild donkey again?"

Lu Fangfang looked at the little wild donkey and realized that it wasn't that the donkey was greedy.

Smiling, she picked up the little weasel, bent down to pick up a fish about the size of a thumb, and handed it to it.

"Squeak~"

The little weasel held it up with both hands and started eating.

When the river wasn't frozen, it would often go down to catch fish to eat. But since it froze over in winter, it has been unable to do so and has been craving small fish for a long time.

Seeing how happily Xiao Huang was eating, Lu Fangfang reached out a finger and patted its head with a smile.

Liu Wenhui, no longer bothering to pick up the fish, stood up and looked around curiously.

"Fangfang, what's this? Is it another animal you've raised?"

Lu Fangfang shook her head and said, "This is a weasel. It has a fragrance. It's not one I raised; it's wild."

"A weasel?"

Liu Wenhui was very curious.

She climbed out of the ice cave, holding onto the ice, and peered at Lu Fangfang.

After a while, the little weasel finished eating the small fish in its hand.

Seeing this, Liu Wenhui bent down, picked one up, and carefully handed it over.

"Squeak~"

The little weasel looked at her with considerable wariness.

"Little Huang is very wary, give him to me."

Lu Fangfang reached out and took it, then handed it to the little weasel, which then began to eat it.

Across from her, Liu Wenhui watched with considerable envy.

The little weasel was small and was full after eating a few small fish.

Seeing that it seemed to want to go back, Lu Fangfang picked out a fish about half the size of her palm and let it carry it back.
